Another amazing weekend of football is in store, with Sunday’s games easily the pick of the bunch. The top four are all in action against each other, with leaders Leicester travelling to third-place Arsenal before Man City, who are currently in fourth position, host second-place Spurs. If results go Leicester’s way they could have a 7-point advantage by Sunday evening, and after winning at the Etihad last time out they’ll be confident of another huge scalp that would surely put them odds-on for the title. Riyad Mahrez (£7.1m) is picking up form again, with 3 assists and a goal from his last 3 appearances in the league, and he’s still the outstanding player in Fantasy Football this season having picked up 183 points. Robert Huth (£4.5m) is certainly worth consideration at the back, having helped the Foxes to 5 clean sheets from their last 7 games and scored 3 goals in that run too.
Tottenham have won six consecutive games in all competitions now and haven’t lost an away game in the Premier League since the opening day of the season. They destroyed Man City 4-1 in September, and the home side could well have last weekend’s defeat to Leicester still fresh in their minds. Harry Kane (£10.1m) has 4 goals and an assist from his last 4 league appearances, and could capitalise against a nervy City defence. Dele Alli (£6.0m) is another strong shout here. He came off the bench to set up the winner last weekend, taking his tally to 2 goals and 3 assists from his last 3 appearances (7 goals and 8 assists for the season) and has fully recovered from the injury that denied him his starting place in that game against Watford.
In the Saturday games Everton’s Romelu Lukaku (£8.8m) should have enough firepower to deal with a West Brom side who may be fatigued after being forced into extra time on Wednesday night against Peterborough in the FA Cup. They haven’t won any of their last 5 league matches, whilst Everton have secured back-to-back 3-0 victories. Lukaku was back amongst the goals last weekend having gone 5 league games without getting on the scoresheet, and he could be a wise captain choice this week.
Norwich have lost 6 successive matches in all competitions, and have fallen into the relegation zone. Saturday’s visitors are West Ham, and although they have only won one of their last 8 league games away from Upton Park, they have the attacking talent to tear apart a Norwich backline that have conceded 19 goals in that run of 6 defeats. Dimitri Payet (£8.2m) and Michail Antonio (£5.3m) will be looking to build on their impressive seasons here and could add more goals or assists on Saturday.
Good luck to all Fantasy League managers. FPL returns in 2 weeks after the FA Cup break.
