Fiso champion of champions?

Post by mad dog »

Just been reading through the old threads, think it would be fun to see who is the daddy of FF.

Obviously for games where more than one team is entered you'd have to name your one team as being your solo team.

So we could do

Sun dream team
Tff
Sky
Fpl

Name your one team in each of the above and the person with the lowest score all together wins, ie you finish 100th in all four your on 400 points, if you finish 150th in all four your on 600points.

Anyone be interested or think its a goer or a waste of time?

Good idea PD, but there would be a few challenges.

Firstly there is already a successful TFF/FPL combo competition (league and cup) that has been running for a number of years...
tff-fpl-combo-2012-13-rules-sign-up-t96289.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That uses the points scored for each competition, but weights them to be roughly equal - because you score more points in FPL than TFF, just adding them would make FPL too important compared to TFF.

Similarly if you just used the positions, as per your suggestion, then FPL would be 10 times as important as TFF because there are roughly 10 times as many people playing it. So it wouldn't much matter how people did in TFF, the one who did best in FPL would almost certainly win a combined league.

Not sure what the figures are for the Sky and Sun comps as I don't play them, but the same principle would apply, you'd really need to weight them to produce a fair competition.

And a "champion of champion" league would be restricted to only those FISO members who play all four competitions - don't know how many people play all four?

And finally, running a league like this is non-trivial - each week you have to gather points from different competitions, weight them, and collate them into a combined table. Issues are things like making sure you know what each players' different team names are, and even deciding when a week starts/ends (as each league can be different). Surprised does a great job on the TFF/FPL combo on this, but it's a lot more complicated than just running a standard side league.

Yeah good point about fpl the amount of entries means that if you finish top 10,000 then that would pretty much win it for you.

Think this is a non starter as you say not many people will play sky, dreamteam and tff?

Hmmmmm......

How about 50 points for a win
30 points for a top 10
20 points for a top 100
15 points for a top 500
14 points for a top 1000
13 points for a top 2000
12 points for a top 3000
11 points for a top 3000
10 points for a top 4000
9 points for a top 5000
8 points for a top 7500
7 points for a top 10000
6 points for a top 15000
5 points for a top 20000
4 points for a top 30000
3 points for a top 40000
2 points for a top 50000
1 points for a top 60000

or something similar. Maybe these could be weighted for difficulty i.e if there are 100% more entries in FPL than there are in The Sun, then 5 points for a top 20,000 in The Sun and 5 points for a top 40,000 in FPL.

I've put no real thought into that but you get my drift :D
