I was wondering that. It's a nuisance when you're struggling for team news for the 13.30 and they start in France at 13.00. Would be even more annoying if the French player is injured or not in the squad, but the cut off still applies  (or as you say, they apply the deadline even if there's nobody from those teams in the game) They could flag up the cut off times in advance according to varying circumstances perhaps. Friday games will be a pain in the aris too.

To be fair you can't really have a cut off time after one of the European games has started surely? They're are not to know in advance whether a player might play or not? Surely if there is a game in one of those leagues then that must be the cut off time?

However they seem set that the Premier League overrides everything else in this game so maybe they will just use premier league times. In which case we could just have chaos.

Something tells me this game is going to have a lot of problems.

....but neither negredo, or whoever the vallecano striker is (bangoura?) is on the list of options, so at the moment this doesn't count as an "eligible scoring match" - at least I don't think so. Even then, there might be transfers that change matters and bring this game into consideration; this could get complicated, as am sure there will be plenty more matches later in the season that will need keeping an eye on.

So slow to make changes in this game with 1 team.
Took ages to figure out, I can't change my 4-4-2 to 4-4-3 via sub also :!:

But at least you can do it with a transfer (assuming you meant 4-3-3). Why would you wish to do the formation change via a sub as long as you have planned a little ahead?

I'm simply going to assume that every Sunday someone in Spain is kicking off just after breakfast.

Transfers must be completed prior to the scheduled kick off of the day's first eligible scoring match, if the earliest scheduled fixture of the day has a team for which one of the Euro strikers plays for, These teams are:

Bordeaux
Lyon
Marseille
St Etienne
Paris St Germain
Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund
Schalke 04
Stuttgart
Inter Milan
Napoli
Udinese
Atletico Madrid
Barcelona
Real Madrid

If the earliest scheduled kick off involves a team that is not on the above list then this does not count as the transfer deadine.

I also got confirmation for anyones thats interested that when Modric goes to Madris he will no longer score points in this game. I guess that is because he is listed as a midfielder and is thus not classed as a euro striker. Would have to think that if any striker happened to move then they would score points.

Whenever I see someone throwing around terms such as "enhancing user experience" I know that they are bullsh*tting.

Mirror HQ wrote:Firstly, thank you for the positive comments regarding this year’s game.

A lot of praise must go toward MIC (a subsidiary of GFM), we think they have created a slick, easy to use interface with a well structured player list.
We’re looking forward to seeing whether it will be better to choose one uber Spanish striker or whether you will get more bang for your buck choosing an RVP/Gomez or Rooney/DiNatale type combination.

We would not normally post in your forum, as we believe it is for fans not operators/publishers, but in light of a couple of posts, we thought we should clarify a number of things.

Trinity Mirror are liable for the prize fund and will pay it out directly to entrants by cheque.

Betway are fully licensed by the LGA of Malta. Historically they have primarily operated in Scandinavia and Germany, but are now looking to gain a footprint in the UK, hence the deal to integrate with Mirror Fantasy Football. Promo abuse and minimum wagering requirements are standard across most gaming companies - however 15 times on a sports book could be seen as draconian, moving forward we will be removing this from Mirror Fantasy Football.

Issues with existing or multiple Betway accounts:
Existing Betway account holders and players who opened an account with Betway and then tried to register with the Trinity Mirror Game ARE allowed to enter the competition and will benefit from the offer of 4 free teams for every £10 bet. All sportsbook bets placed after the 12th of July will qualify for this offer.
The terms and conditions will be updated shortly to clarify this point.

Players who have opened an account directly with Betway can claim their free teams by following these instructions:

1. Sign up to Mirror.co.uk/fantasyfootball using the free team that we offer to all players, making a note of your registered email address and username.

2. Contact Betway through the MFF Contact us service (https://fantasyfootball.mirror.co.uk/contact-us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), stating both your Betway and MFF usernames and details of the bet(s) you staked after July 12th 2012.

3. In the contact us form, select the “Betway Free Team Allocation” choice from the drop down menu (available from midday 18th July 2012) and explain that you are a Betway customer who wants to associate an existing betting account with your Mirror Fantasy Football account.

4. We will credit your MFF account with the appropriate number of free teams earned on all bets from the 12th July 2012. All credits will be completed within 48 hours of your submission.

5. Go back to Mirror.co.uk/fantasyfootball and log in with your Mirror Fantasy Football account details. Once credited to your account, you can use all the free team credits that you have been awarded.

6. To earn more MFF team credits, you must use your Mirror Fantasy Football account. Bets placed directly through your Betway account will not generate any further free team credits.

We are looking forward to a great season ahead and wish you all good luck and good fortune with Mirror Fantasy Football and Betway.

John The Mirror Fantasy Manager
The Mirror site does not make it clear that you have to register with betway after you have registered your free team, this is only made clear after you register your free team. As a result I registered with betway today from the link in the mirror site thinking that I would be given a code or prompted to claim my eight teams. Only after I registered my free team with the mirror did it prompt me to register with betway, I am sure this will have happened to a lot of people. If I don't get allocated my eight teams in time for kick off I am going to be one very angry punter. I have already done what you have suggested here, but the, 'response within 48 hours,' bit has me concerned they won't address it in time. Why is the mirror game always such a pain in the ass to register with?

Thankfully it got sorted out pretty promptly after a call to the mirror and an email or two to betway and the mirror. Still a bit confusing though.

Has anyone found out anything about the first eligible games involving european teams that you can pick from? It would make life a lot simpler if they could post them on the site instead of having to search the various fixtures in Europe to see when the cut off time will be.

I'm thinking a lot of people are going to be caught out by this. Would be good if they listed the cut off time on the front page every day.

The live scores are way out. I'm getting Petric scoring 26 points, Defoe 14  .

Noticed this too. Stopped me changing any more after the first one  .

I'm sure it won't make any difference to the overall score.

Those live scores are probably wrong for everyone (here too) - i'd assume they are up for other gfm games (they are for the mail already), but the mirror game is using last year's sm scoring, so will be different - though not as different as they're showing at the moment. Correct gfm scores across their games are usually up by around 10am on the sunday after saturday matches, don't know if that will apply to the new mirror scoring too.

Where on the team page can you see the points scored for players who've been transferred out? Don't know if I'm missing something really obvious or not?

Can you make transfers between kick off times? (not looked into the rules properly) only entered the free team.

You can make subs before the first ko of each day. Any subs done after the first kick off will count towards the following day.

So about 5pm today I took out my FC for one playing tomorrow and my existing strikers point wents from the live scoring total?

Was too afriad to do anymore incase I lost all my Petrics points!

The live scoring today was total nonsense. Apart from wrong points being awarded it also ignored some players that were playing and scored some that weren't!
Another good portent for the season?

At least the site didn't crash during the busy period, unlike some of it's rivals. I was entering teams right up to the deadline without any problem. The live scoring is just a gimmick and a nuisance imo.

Scores now up, they seem to be ok. On a related matter, would appear (from the position of my worst team, on minus points) that there are only approx 44000 entries this year so far.

Only one of my teams is showing as having points on my account. I can see my teams on the leaderboard so I know they are scoring. It's a serious problem for anyone trying to attack the monthly. They should scrap this live scoring bullshit and concentrate on updating the scores quickly and accurately. It's a nightmare for serious players.

Seems to be alot of foreign entrants in the top 100 since this game is supposed to be UK only or am I missing something??

Also struggling to see how someone could get 117 are the scores wrong?

Even if he had

2 gks 12
5 def = 1 goal 30

mich 15
Lamp 8
Dyer 11
Nasri 8

Petric 11
Messi 11
Defoe 7
D Ba 7

That would be 120 without bookings and I know Lampard and Nasri got bookings so that would be 116? I guess he could have other scores that didnt get booked
