And some random garden shots

the pond is a horrible green mess, but there's tadpoles in there and the plants are going great guns

Clematis before the slugs and snails inevitably destroy it

I'm immensely impressed by your dedication, effort and results in gerdening. It's a beautiful thing you created. Kudos.

Reg. The snails ... could you perhaps offer treats for some bigger birds like bluejays or crows in your garden which will also take care of the snails?

Thankyou very much ironfist
We have a lot of trees around, so the bird population is pretty high. The problem with feeding the birds in London is that you0 only succeed in attracting pigeons
Looks like I need some updated photos too!

The other thing with snails (& slugs) is to draw them in to specific locations and trap them there.
Offer food stuffs they like at 2-3 corners of the garden and collect/trap them there.
There's this wonderful little thing...

Not much going on recently, as I've been concentrating more on the ornamental part of the garden, which is beginning to take shape.
All the greenhouse veg, toms/chillis etc are not as big as I would expect, although all are looking very lush and healthy with this weather :D
I planted runner beans, but it was very late they haven't done much...possibly due to the hot weather?
Raspberries have been fruiting nicely, and I haven't even had to cover them for bird protection  . Looking forward to the crop in a couple of years when they are full sized.
On the plus side, my greens have been going great guns.
greens jul13.jpg
I had to move the kiwi outside as it was getting scorched in the greenhouse. It's rather grown!
Kiwi jul13.jpg
The main flower border is looking rather fuller now

I grew marigolds from seed, and I must have chosen "Uber frickin huge" when I did so
Marigold jul13.jpg
they're about 2 foot tall and still growing, with no flowers yet

Oooh, 2014 already! 8-)

Got my seeds in a bit earlier this year, and am much more organised with planning and rotation etc.
Currently in the prop are chillis, toms, cucamelons, cucumbers, melon and sweet peppers.
Loads of flower seeds sat in seed trays in the kitchen. These are beginning to sprout and are getting a day in the sunshine before back in at night

Planted peas, carrots, lettuce, cauliflower this week.
Four hanging baskets of strawberries are flowering and beginning to fruit already in the greenhouse :D
Blackberries, raspberries and kiwi all budding up nicely
Still have four drainpipes to fill with strawberries too!

This year is going to be soft fruit year 8-)

The only down side is the fact that I have to replace all fencing...26 bloody panels!....and it's gonna take a lot of my time to get all the old out

Well, the fencing is done and looking very nice, I have to say :D
back fence small.jpg
This side is where the blackberries, kiwi and some raspberries are. decided it was a pain to attach trellis/wiring to concrete posts, so just used trellis instead of panels
fruit side small.jpg
The greenhouse is looking rather full...mostly strawberries and bedding plants

I always start off with good intentions to plant my veg, and then I forget to water them during the summer and inevitability the plants all die off, so I hold my hat off to you.
