Sun SPL Fiso Mini League 2009/10

Post by pa102aw »

I have set up a Fiso Mini League for the Sun's SPL Competition. Given the changes that have been made to the Mini League Prize Structure (average of ALL teams in the League) I would like to keep the League as compact as possible and restrict each member to a maximum of 2 teams per player. Once this League has grown to 12 Teams one of the other Fisoers on this thread may want to set up another Fiso League Mark 2 if enough players are still interested.

The League name is Fiso Forum SPL Mini League and if you could post your interest in joining the League on this thread I will PM you the League Pin and Password.

Before agreeing to join this Mini League please read the following message. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27293" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This Mini League is now closed to new members.

Anyone wishing to start a new Mini League should do so on a separate Thread.

This doesn't sound much like a Fiso league just a private league which has adopted the Fiso name.
No discussion, no consultation, and apparently inconsistent personal decisions.

Unlike previous years there will be no one big Fiso Mini League DP. This is because of the changes to the way the average scores are calculated, and the same applies to the Sun's Main Game. If you read my first post you will see that I mentioned that the league score is now calculated on the average of ALL teams in the League and how I wanted to keep the League as compact as possible. the-sun-spl-fantasy-football-2009-10-di ... 60970.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I know that I mentioned restricting it to a maximum of 12 teams but having read some of the information on the main Sun thread it looks as if even 12 would be to many and that's why I cut it off at 8. There is nothing to stop you, or someone else setting up another League that you could join and restricting it to as many teams as you/they see fit as long as you feel that you can trust the individual who has set the League up, and I would guess that most Fisoers who have been regulars on the Forum for a while should be trustworthy. But that is a decision that only you can make.

Is there a limit to the number of mini leagues one person can start in the Sun games this season? We should really be thinking about some organisation in the Prem. game as well - someone who has a game plan would be a good idea :lol:

We had a similar situation with the Scotsman's Fantasy Golf Competition where I drew up 13 Mini Leagues of 5-6 players per League and nearly all of them are currently in the Top 20 scotsman-fiso-scotsman-5-s-leagues-t58054-35.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The difference is that the Scotsman is a free to enter competition and you can be Manager of up to 10 Mini Leagues. If one person wanted to create the same number of Mini Leagues with the Sun they would have to invest a tidy sum and split their teams between Leagues rather than lump them all into the one League. There doesn't seem to be a game plan as such within Fiso and it's turning into a free for all. I can see the Sun's system collapsing due to the enormous ammounts of 5 player Mini Leagues that will be entered this year. It does however stop the Multi's from flooding leagues with 1,000 teams.

Now we have our mini league up and running I was thinking that we should help each with our teams.

Has anyone got any tips on players that must be in your team this year?
Has dark horses?

Pa's Six Basement Bargains

Balogh - Goalkeeper - Hearts - 1.00
With Celtic and Rangers you never know who is going to be their first choice Goalie so I would recommend Ballogh a steal at 1.00m. Hearts don't give much away at the back and he could be the Goalie to go for.

Andy Webster - Defender - Dundee Utd - 1.00m
Top notch Defender who had bad luck with Injury during his spell with Rangers.

Gregg - Midfielder - Hibs 1.00m
Highly rated by "Yogi" Hughes.

L n'Guemo - Celtic - 1.00
Looks as if Tony Mowbray has decided that this is going to be his first choice Midfielder.

K. Thomson - Midfielder - Rangers - 1.5m.
Back from Injury and with Ferguson now gone this could be a massive season for Kevin.

Lee Miller - Striker - Aberdeen - 2.5m
Forget Boyd and Fortune, I fancy Lee Miller to outscore them this year.

Ringo, last year Admin put in place rules regarding the setting up of Mini Leagues where Prize Money is paid to the Manager of the League. One of the stipulations was that you must have a minimum post count of 250.

However, given the Sun's new rules regarding the make up of Mini Leagues we have discussed this in the Moderators Forum and we have agreed to allow a bit of leeway in this matter and I for one won't stand in the way of you setting up another League to see if you can attract some more members. :D

You must however include this warning in your first post:

I'd say the winning ml will be set up just before the deadline of 12th Sept if they get their rules sorted out which they probably will.
