The results are in for the second round of the FISO Snooker Cup

Fivelongbones (E Stevenson) 17 v 32 Bluenoseyparker (I Frost)

ForestFan (J Humpherson) 31 v 23 Grant (G Humphrey)

Darbyand (A Darbyshire) 55 v 33 Murf (J Murfitt)

Spencer4 (J Ravilious) 47 v 39 Shaggy365 (P Whitehead)

Another storming performance by Darbyand brushes aside the sheep and he now takes on the cat who just scraped through against myself, both with 2 players left.

The top half of the draw looks the easier half with Bluenoseyparker taking on ForestFan, who each only have 1 player left in the tournament.

Just remembered a late addition to the scoring I was going to introduce.

If your surname begins with a 'W' and one of your players scores a 147, then you get an extra 50 points.

(I doubt it would make any difference overall, though  )

Come on Selby !

Thanks to Shaggy for updating the draw. League table looks like this now :-

Darbyand (A Darbyshire) 117 8-)
Spencer4 (J Ravilious) 98
ToffeeLover (S Cooper) 98
Murf (J Murfitt) 92
Shaggy365 (P Whitehead) 90
ForestFan (J Humpherson) 87
Bluenoseyparker (I Frost) 81
Knulpuk (J Clements) 80
Dingram (D Ingram) 77
PNE4Prem (B Hartley) 76
The Drogs Ballacks (R Stiles) 73
Grant (G Humphrey) 71
Padmole (P Mulhall) 66
GM (G Marsden) 65
Fivelongbones (E Stevenson) 62
Surprised (P Thomas) 58
Blah Blah (G Jones) 57
Jester (D King) 43

Darbyand flying high for FISO in 3rd but will it be enough to keep the hard charging Spencer 4 and ToffeeLover at bay ?

What a belting match between Higgins & Selby. Glad Higgins got through (as I've got him). Some real pressure shots by Higgins in the last frame.

Anyway, the results of the FISO Knockout Snooker Cup are as follows -

Bluenoseyparker (I Frost) 11 v 14 ForestFan (J Humpherson)

Darbyand (A Darbyshire) 20 v 14 Spencer4 (J Ravilious)

So the final will be between Darbyand (0 players left) and ForestFan (1 player left) played over the semis and final of the tournament. It isn't all over yet, though as it's possible to get a -ve score.

It's also worth noting that any one of 5 from the top 6 (excl 5th) could actually win this (but not me, sadly), and you couldn't pick the 4 semi-finalists when the competition started.

Oh yes it does. I only update my site at the end of the day's play.

Web-site updated to reflect over-noght position in the final.

All looks to be over. I can't see Higgins losing from here.

Overall not bad - an average of a smidge over 3 getting through, which isn't bad with the tight budget and 17 out of 18 of us in the top half. We won't talk about Jester.......

Hey!

My selections looked good on paper! :?
You get yourself down to the offices if FISODAS son, and we'll see who can pick a decent line-up!!
Plenty of room on the waiting list for S14!!

Come on Higgins.

If he can win this 18-8 then I take the FISO league. If Murphy gets up to 9, though Toffeelover takes it.

Never in doubt

'Teeth' and 'skin of' come to mind, but a point is a point Shaggy

Thanks for running the comp again, still gutted Ebdon went out in the 1st round, otherwise could have pushed for the top spot.

Good to ultimately give the cat a good drubbing, to avenge my KO in the first round, also gobbing you in FISO goals Spencer4, what's going to be the third one?

Yep thanks for the organisation and updates. Sad that my (tortoise and) hare selection didn't have staying power and still can't believe Higgins edged past Cope AND Selby but a worthy winner coming through tough early games and finding form as it went on.
