Nick Owen apparently, later replaced by someone called Andy Craig, who doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page (unless it’s the Scottish rugby player who would have been about 12 at the time).

There must be an episode or two on YouTube, I’ve found a few other 80s gameshows in the past!

Here goes!

Greavsie, Mansell, Dennis Taylor… no Z-list Olympic judo bronze medallists on this show! And Andy Gray, captained by a woman… take a bow, son

Oh eck, where do I start. For anyone old enough, think of a shit Sporting Triangles ☹️
I remember that! Didn’t they poach Emlyn Hughes from QoS? Can’t remember who actually hosted it, but think I remember the theme tune
Was it Elton Welsby? 😬
I think he changed his first name in honour of Reg Dwight 😎😎😎

^ I enjoyed that show when I was in the UK.
Stuart Hall hosted followed by Davids Vine and Coleman, even Sue Barker gave it a go for a series or two.
I think David Coleman was the best host.

QoS used to be great.

Totally ruined by the Barker/IdiotTufnell/IdiotEggChaser era where it became a shouting match for knuckle draggers.

Sue Barker did it for about 20 years, never mind a series or two!

It was one of my favourite shows as a child, when it was Coleman/Beaumont/Hughes or later Lord Botham of Brexit, as he’s now known. Back then there wasn’t a lot of live sport to watch and it had a real star quality about it. Since then it’s just something I’ll catch once in a while, haven’t seen the new one yet but reviews aren’t positive!

I will have to google Beefy Botham Brexit to see what mischief he was getting up to, the last thing I remember about him was when he was doing the charity walking thing.

Trade ambassador to Australia now, after getting a place in the House of Lords. Despite frequently insulting Australians and admitting he knows sod all about trade! He likes wine I suppose, so might get us some cheap Aussie Shiraz…

The brilliantly cringeworthy Succession returns for a third series this month.

Also, Netflix have announced another Tiger King series, though not exactly sure what they’ll have in terms of follow-up material (particularly with Carole not willing to participate again…)

How can they do another series of Tiger King unless it’s him in prison?

I don’t know, they’ll probably follow the appeals and the fate of the zoo and his associates/rivals. And maybe find another crazy big cat breeder or two to follow.

Totally agree, not sure the new series is much of an improvement, unfortunately.

Season 3 of You returns to Netflix on Friday. I really enjoyed this dark physiological series.

And succession returns to sky Atlantic on Monday think that’s also season 3. Not bad.

Yes, started the other night (BBC Scotland. BBC1 to follow? - but all on iPlayer anyway I think). 'Taped' but not watched yet.

3 episodes into Ridley Road and it is pretty good - 7/10 with potential to go higher with a good ending
Finished 'North Water' - all OK but too similar to the one with Ciaran Hinds that was on about 2 months ago whose name I have forgotten. Stuck in ice, ships wrecked, dodgy relations with 'eskimos', polar bears, dead captains, stay on ice or walk away dilemmas - all exactly the same! 6.5/10

Dexter : New Blood starting in early November.

A 'miniseries' by US terms, 'only' 10 episodes set 10 years after the last episode with Dexter now alright as a lumberjack in the snow. Debra and Trinity (John Lithgow) get cameos even though they are dead....

‐-------

2 episodes into Guilt (series 2) and loving it.

DO miss the return of Spitting Image.

I was disappointed that this was hidden away on a subscription service with less viewers than the average vlog.

So.... I chose to watch the Halloween 'special' as it was on 'proper' ITV last night. My god was it completely unfunny. Some deserved and even accurate satire but just not funny in the slightest. I didn't know who some of the puppets were and how they can miss an open goal like Boris.....

Dreadful.

Just watched the new Dexter. Great to have him back. The first episode was mostly scene setting so not sure where it is going but the promise is there.

A little bit of Peaky Blinderesque music at times. Started with a bit of Iggy (The Passenger - geddit?) and later featured who are definitely and officially "murf's favourite band that nobody has heard of" Love and Rockets. Other than that it had the same Dexter feel.

Only minor quibbles were too much Ghost Deborah (Harry only made occasional appearances) but hopefully that will ease off and... MINOR SPOILER ALERT... somebody's hair colour changing (and possibly being the wrong age?)
