Soccernet Fantasy Soccer (EPL)

Post by admin »

http://www.soccernetfantasy.com

Anyone for Fantasy Soccer  ? No? Well what about some Fantasy Football then?

Game is free to play, based on the EPL and was launched yesterday.

Prizes not yet announced.

Game is run by Clever.tv who also run The Mirror's You The Manager game (very well if you ask me).

Squad based with 30 transfers for the season.

One team per email address.

It would also be helpful if entrants from FISO could use 'FISO or FISO Forum' in their team name (please). No doubt there will be a lot on non-UK entrants and it would be great if you could help attract a few of them over to the FISO community. Once you've got a FISO team name please could you get it on the leaderboard

I'm sure this game was for USA residents only last year.

Different game now and also no such restrictions:

Each entrant must ensure that his or her participation in the game is lawful in accordance with the laws of the country of which he or she is a citizen and/or resides, and/or happens to be at the time his Entry is made.

Looks like a very good game knowing that we can rely on the excellent YTM team not to do a Times/Herald/Sun etc on us. The attractiveness of the game now depends on whether the top prize is a ticket to a Premiership game or a million quid, (or even dollars at a pinch).

EPNS FF game

Post by grob »

It took me ages to select my team within the even tougher player values than FPL,which augurs well.
I had to settle for an inferior 15 man squad, compared to my FPL squad, despite the same £100m limit.

With YTM being the game most favoured by the multi-entrants,I hope that if any YTM players are attracted to this, they take on board that this is a single entry free to enter game - NO duplicates ! Otherwise,it'll be ruined.

To you maybe, striker, and any others who are only interested in playing FF for money, rather than for fun,as most Fisoers do.

If the attractiveness of FPL was based on the value of the prizes alone, they'd have maybe 10000 players, instead of over one and a quarter MILLION,and by far the biggest FF game in the market, though CUKI could challenge it in due course, but not because of the value of the prizes.

It's surely unlikely that there will be any major prizes on offer, though several of the free to enter FF games this season have a total prize pot of £50k,so this could be similar.
If it's any bigger than that,it could really take off.

This is great news. Hopefully they also run the La Liga and Serie A games too. And also hopefully open all :D

No TFFO so I need to fill the void, and it's free which is a bonus.

Just joined the fun, looks graphically a bit like SKY Sports effort of last year but seems friendlier.
Here's hoping the Cotopaxi Eruptions will be the team to beat.

It's a useful addition to the stable of FF games, but I doubt it will appeal to everyone,as it's rather cumbersome in some respects, like changing two players in your team from your squad for example - I found that they disappeared from my squad completely when I tried to swop them with 2 players on my bench, and I had to transfer them back in,after a notice appeared on screen informing me that my squad was now 2 players short.

I succeeded in doing so,but found it a pain in the proverbial, and unless it's a case of getting the hang of dragging players in and out, I for one might not pay much attention to it,despite having been one of the first to enter,as it may prove too frustrating and time consuming.

In no way is it comparable with YTM,apart from the prize aspect/free to enter, and it's just not in the same league as the top two games, which I consider to be FPL and now CUKI,in terms of overall ease of use and features.

However,it's nice to have an increasingly wide choice of FF games to play, especially when they're free to play, and if there are decent prizes to be won.

Anyone else noticed that this game seems to be the new home of the TFF KC. I wonder if they've signed up Lance Harrington to score them?

Don't use it until the season gets underway, and then only if you have to - see transfers-don't-count rule

Got to admit, out of all the games I am in, this one is the most awkward to change your team.

1 transfer used already after day 1, Jones of Derby out

I realise I'm late - put it down to being (or feeling) old!

Am I ok to still join the league? I've stuck my side in for now but if I'm too late to join just say the word.

FYI, I'm currently at 280th in the overall league with 299pts - and I'm attempting to change my team name to include FISO.

I see that ESPN have added a Fixtures button between the SAVE and Formations buttons. The fixtures then come up in the mini window below the squad graphic where the transfers normally happen.

A much needed feature, well done ESPN. :)

I hadn't noticed this yet,so thanks for highlighting it,blueprint

It would be nice if the screen stayed put long enough to read it before crashing,as it so frequently does.

I think I'll have to do the same as some others have done, and uninstall the lastest edition of Flash and revert to the previous one, which apparently works OK.
