i must be missing something here. this is the first time in 3 seasons i've gone with haaland and it's because this coventry fixture scares me. well not just the coventry fixture but the complete lack of viable options to go up against him because of fixture list.

whatever the outcome of the coventry game it must be really poor decision making not to go with haaland. there's like no way blockhead will even come up with a captain choice

Why would I accept that I am wrong after 2 game weeks where a £15.5m asset has been matched by most of the other premiums in the game? Palmer, Saka and Bruno Fernandes all matched or outscored him so far. As for the argument being "pants", the GOAT of FPL (Ben Crellin) is currently on a no-Haaland strategy outside of FH3 and he is certainly a lot better at the game than you are!

why would you believe you are right after 2 weeks? You are on the one hand saying it is a season long thing (nothing in FPL is season long, but anyway...) and on the other saying after 2 weeks you are vindicated.

The issue is, rather like the common politician, you take 100 facts and pick the 1 that suits your argument, ignoring all others.

For the sake of clarity, I tend to agree that Palmer and Saka look like they will do very well (although beating what looks like a very weak Coventry team counts for little), and I am sure Bruno will (at his price, he has to).

Problem is none of those are forwards, and someone has to be chosen if Haaland is not.

As above, the sample is far too small, but 2 goals in 2 games is on pace for 38, and at that rate he makes sense, no? Others might also have a couple of goals but there is no way they are going to have a hope of hitting those sorts of figures - Haaland has the highest ceiling by miles.

An interesting discussion. I half gambled on the no Haaland approach limited to the first 6 game weeks in the hope that spreading the money throughout the squad would compensate for the potential points deficit and maybe give me a head start based on the fixtures. This does however, necessitate the early use of chips i.e. FH this game week as perhaps only a fool would go without the big man against Coventry and a WC in GW7 to bring him in for the Ipswich game onwards. My argument being the chips are more of a hindrance than a help in the first half of the season, don't want to end up trying to use all the chips in December having pointlessly held on to them.
