Welcome to the FISO Challenge League 2026/27! Wahine has come to her senses and passed the torch on to me, The Black Fingernail. Flaming cheek! As you can see, there will be some light puns ahead.

Before joining the league, you must first of all have a team. If you haven't got one, just use Auto pick and tinker with your team later. The first game is between Arsenal and Coventry on Friday evening.

The first challenge is called Instant Impact. There are double points for new signings. This is part of an event called Kick Off that takes place over the first five gameweeks. There are similar events across the season. And your weekly points get added up for an overall score, much like regular FPL. I'll be keeping tabs on this each week.

It's quick and easy to knock up a team. You only have to select six players each week and you can make changes when you see team lineups. There are no budget requirements and you can pick a fresh team each challenge. What's not to like? Yes, FPL is the main game, but Challenge is a nice little diversion. Come and play! Good luck.

I did auto-select which turned out well - no newly transferred players at all. Maybe that’s the way to play it though…?

Glad you are playing mate it is a good job i picked my team early as i can"t get into my team every time i try now it keeps saying page not responding for some reason .

Thanks to everyone who has joined so far. Arnie, I'm having the same problem accessing the page on Chrome via my laptop. I tried getting on using Firefox instead and had no problem. Maybe trying a different browser will work for you too?

i can"t get into my team every time i try now it keeps saying page not responding for some reason .

I've been having the same issue since yesterday. At least it remains stuck at "loading". . No problem at all with the primary game nor draft. Very odd, even after having cleared my cache and cookies.

Gameweek 1: INSTANT IMPACT
1. George's Charlies: 84 points
2. The Black Fingernail: 80
3. Challenge Anelka: 74
3. Wieffer's Fat Reefer: 74
3. The Challenge Thing: 74

Congratulations to our first weekly winner, George's Charlies! They got most of their points through five players: At the back they had a spread of points through Robertson's jam and the not-so-old Trafford in goal; in midfield they found Tzolis with their captaincy choice, while Rogers put his Chelsea boots on to score; and up front they got a tune out of Emersonn (sadly no Lake at Ipswich but they do have a Palmer). The Black Fingernail (me!) also had success with Trafford, Tzolis, Rogers and Emersonn. The three teams who finished third had some of these players too. Challenge Anelka also had Senesi and a different captain in Rogers, Wieffer's Fat Reefer (great name) had Vuskovic for his clean sheet, and The Challenge Thing mixed it up even more, with Lacroix sweetie and the great Gonzalo contributing nicely. Just ten points then between the first five.

The next challenge is…
…WELCOME BACK: Double points for players from the promoted clubs, with up to three players per club. Two of the teams are playing each other (Coventry v Hull) and Ipswich are away to Man Utd.

2. BrightwaterVilla FL: 99
3. Super Furry Pants: 96

Some great scores at the top of the league this week as the big names found form. Mixing and matching between them and the double-point players was the way to go! All three teams here captained Bruno for his mega-haul and had Haaland for his brace. Building on that base, The Challenge Thing then turned their attention to the promoted teams, with Tzolakis and Thomas pushing their score over the ton mark. Top work! BrightwaterVilla FL had Tzolakis too, with Palmer and Saka getting a goal each to add to the total. Super Furry Pants also relied more on the big names (Gabriel and Pedro) but had Coventry's Thomas and his double points. All of which goes to show that going all in with double-point players is not necessarily the best way to play Challenge!

The Challenge Thing has been on the weekly leader boards for the first two weeks and not surprisingly soars to the top overall with a comfortable lead.
