I did say on another thread that I would be happy to try to pick up organising the draft leagues from TT.

It's not looking as straightforward as I hoped but I have posted in the existing 2026/27 thread in the FPL Draft section with some thoughts.

If anyone is interesting can they please visit this thread and comment as soon as possible.

I've posted the below in the FISO Draft Divisionals 2026/27 Thread. Could you please visit that thread to make any interest known.

"I did say on a different thread that I would be happy trying to pick up organising these leagues from TT.

It's proving tricky as I can't find anywhere to tell me who took part last time, what division they were in or where they finished. I can't even remember what division I was in or where I finished!

But I'm happy to run new leagues with a fresh start if others are comfortable with this.

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

1. Everyone who initially wants to play joining one big qualifying division. The teams might be weak due to the numbers involved but it will give us a starting point to measure them against each other.
2. The division runs until each team has played every other one once.
3. The first mini leagues will then be set up based on the teams' positions at this point. The top 6 will play in division, the next 6 in division 2 and so on.
4. We can offer new players the opportunity to make up the bottom league to 6 teams at this point.
5. The leagues will then run with promotion and relegation as before. Whether we get 2 or 3 mini "seasons" in 2026/27 will probably depend on the size of the initial league. But at least we'll have a basis for getting back to 3 seasons per year in future.

If anyone likes my proposal can you please register your interest in the thread below. Let's put a deadline of this Friday 4th September to register interest then aim for a draft next week."

On a technicality I think the casuals reference was about people selling Bruno before his haul (I may be wrong). Having x2 Arsenal defenders isn’t a casual play. But other mods intervened and we will again if it gets heated

Correct and my original comment was about owning Gabriel who I still think is mainly owned by the casuals; the engaged managers saved a few mil and bought his defender teammates instead. I did have a few concerns about the Arsenal defence during pre-season, but those comments were made before the Community Shield.

So, how are teams looking with the window coming to an end?

It seems to me:

- Man C have lost a lot of defensive stock (Stones, Ake, Akanji) without much/any obvious replacement so a little injury or two and they could be in trouble? Further up the field they seem to have done reasonable business in replacing the leavers, assuming they get Enzo

- Arsenal seem to have done a simple replace job on all leavers with not too many changes, suggesting a repeat of last season is very much on the cards

- Liverpool similar, seem to have replaced where they had leavers, and with Isak back and perhaps Wirtz to come into form, seem ok, perhaps need one more mid to shore things up

- Chelsea also seem to have matched most leavers with replacements, but they have a LOT of new faces. If Palmer and Rogers double act stays healthy, and a consistent defence can be put together, perhaps they are fit for purpose? Going to let in a few but I doubt that can be changed in the short term

- Spurs ... lots of new faces so it will take a while but they seem to have bought a LOT more than they have sold. Much more depth. Of course, they might need to rid themselves of some (Solanke?) or they risk having annoyed non-players in the fold (which never works out well) and they have an almost entirely new defence to sort out, but I suspect they will come good some time in the near future

I will stop there as analysing all 20 will take an age - I can see some teams who seem to have done almost nothing and that will probably come to bite them (Sunderland, Coventry), and Villa surely need a prominent CF to give some attacking punch of some sort given who has left (Jackson ... has always looked weak to me)...

So in short, not sure the big guns need to do much today - other than MC getting Enzo and a CB or two for cover?

I agree.

I think you overlooked the concession that he wrote off the Arsenal defence prior to the season starting as "conceding for fun" again (and it wasn't just Gabriel along as he is now spinning towards from a budgetary perspective). Just more scattergun nonsense from our resident equivalent of Jay from The Inbetweeners!

Coventry are 5th overall in net spend thus far!

Yeah, they maybe haven’t signed the game changers they need but it’s always a huge gamble for promoted teams, you just have to throw money at it and hope some of it sticks. They’re unlikely to ever attract top level stars so it’s a choice between PL veterans, CKs and the best of the Championship’s talent.

Had never heard of this guy. A left-back, apparently, joining on loan for a year. Looks a bit like a French Kieran Trippier. Hopefully plays like him too.

Hopefully his debut doesn't end up being a comedy of errors.
