'16: GOAL! Dowman produces a magic moment with a beautiful turn that takes Moreno out of the game, and then provides an inch-perfect pass into the path of Havertz, who is clean through and slots neatly into the bottom left corner.
17: BIG CHANCE! Lewis-Skelly neatly feeds Havertz through with a lofted ball, but his low cross is batted away by Gazzaniga.
26: CLOSE! Tzolis is found with a neat through-ball from Calafiori setting him through on goal - his choice to pass is the wrong one and Gyokeres can't sort his feet out before a Girona player can stick a foot in, and Dowman's eventual shot from the loose ball is blocked.

We were back to being just the one goal behind in the 69th minute after Tzolis was fouled in the penalty area by Kaua Prates and Gyokeres buried the spot-kick into the bottom right for 3-2.' Given the sides and subs Arsenal didn't play below standard stats wise so not indicative of any slump in itself and merely pre season ramping up the gears.

Justin Kluivert netted a hat-trick, while there were goals for Alex Scott (2), Enes Ünal (2), Daniel Jebbison, David Brooks and Malcom Dacosta Gonzalez.
The win made it three on the bounce for Marco Rose’s side in friendlies, having overcome St. Pauli and Augsburg during the club’s pre-season camp in Austria.
The contest was played over 120 minutes, with four 30-minute periods making up the fixture.'

'Neto teased a cross in from the right flank and the Brazilian Pedro’s header back across goal was well directed. Visiting keeper Alex Remiro, diving to his left, just reached it but succeeded only in teeing up Rogers, who couldn’t miss in front of the Shed.
Joao Pedro almost immediately forced Remiro into another good save, with nobody in blue able to pick up the pieces on this occasion.
Either side of a hydration break, which offered both teams some respite on another scorching London afternoon, Take Kubo shot into the side-netting and Rob Sanchez produced a superb reaction save to deny Jon Martin.
It looked like we had quietened the Sociedad threat sufficiently before the break, but the side from San Sebastian equalised on the stroke of half-time through Arambaru’s brilliantly executed 20-yard volley. Sanchez stood no chance.
The Blues came out of the blocks quickly and soon restored our lead, in similar fashion to the opener. Palmer twisted back and forth before laying the ball off for James to send over a right-wing cross. Joao Pedro rose highest and this time his header was steered beyond Remiro’s reach.
Gusto played a fine through pass for Joao Pedro to run on to, and the confident finish that followed across Remiro felt inevitable.'

'Neto teased a cross in from the right flank and the Brazilian Pedro’s header back across goal was well directed. Visiting keeper Alex Remiro, diving to his left, just reached it but succeeded only in teeing up Rogers, who couldn’t miss in front of the Shed.
Joao Pedro almost immediately forced Remiro into another good save, with nobody in blue able to pick up the pieces on this occasion.
Either side of a hydration break, which offered both teams some respite on another scorching London afternoon, Take Kubo shot into the side-netting and Rob Sanchez produced a superb reaction save to deny Jon Martin.
It looked like we had quietened the Sociedad threat sufficiently before the break, but the side from San Sebastian equalised on the stroke of half-time through Arambaru’s brilliantly executed 20-yard volley. Sanchez stood no chance.
The Blues came out of the blocks quickly and soon restored our lead, in similar fashion to the opener. Palmer twisted back and forth before laying the ball off for James to send over a right-wing cross. Joao Pedro rose highest and this time his header was steered beyond Remiro’s reach.
Gusto played a fine through pass for Joao Pedro to run on to, and the confident finish that followed across Remiro felt inevitable.'

'The game finally had a goal when Thierno Barry was determined to knick the ball in the middle of the park and his drive forward had him drag the ball back to Röhl who danced past a defender and slotted the ball into the top corner.
In the eight minutes of added time, O’Brien went down and looked like he was holding his hamstring, but he recovered to get back in the match. Seconds later, Braden Graham pounced on a loose ball and played a nice ball into the middle which forced the Hamburg defender to try and intercept the cross that was heading to Beto. Thankfully, Jordan Torunarigha turned Graham’s cross into his own net.'
Player Ratings from Royal Blue Mersey:
Mark Travers – Made some early saves to settle the nerves. A commanding presence on corners and did nothing other than continue to impress. No chance on the goal.
Jarrad Branthwaite – Calm and assured at the back. Probably stepped up to quickly which allowed the space in behind that Daka took on his goal. More importantly, another 65 minutes on the pitch as he builds up his fitness.
James Tarkowski – Just too slow and almost caused Hamburg to get a second goal when his touch was poor. Moments later he gave the ball up and needed to take a yellow card to prevent a goal scoring chance.
Jake O’Brien – Back in the right back slot and did the defending but provided little going forward. He does what he is asked to do but should be in the middle next to Branthwaite.
Vitalii Mykolenko – Some good covering play early on. Defending, decent. Attacking, none.
Merlin Röhl – Worked hard down the right side and his goal was well taken. He was always interested in going forward. One of his best games since his arrival.
Tim Iroegbunam – Was lucky to stay on the pitch for a second yellow in the second half. This was his fourth start in a row and looks ready to start the season.
Hayden Hackney – His first thought was always to look forward and find a play. It was great seeing him linking up with many of his teammates throughout the match.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Another excellent performance and his work with Hackney was the starting point for most of Everton’s forward play.
Tyrique George – Showed some pace on the left and was effective cutting inside. Faded as the match continued.
Thierno Barry – A good drive forward in the first half was all for nothing when his cut back was behind KDH. That was not true when he set up Röhl’s goal with a lovely drive and pass.
August 8: Stuttgart 3 Everton 1 - MHP Arena, 4pm
'Moments after Everton brought on four substitutes, Stuttgart doubled their advantage on 65 minutes when Ramon Hendriks was given too much space from a corner to head home from close range.
But the Toffees hit back quickly, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall threading a ball into fellow substitute Barry who was brought down by Fabian Bredlow as he rounded the keeper – the striker dusting himself down to score the resulting penalty.'
Mark Travers – Two very good saves near the end of the first half kept the Blues in the match. No chance on the first goal. He kept us in the game but had no support going forward.
Merlin Rohl – Started at RB, moved into the middle and was our best player going forward.
Vitalii Mykolenko – Overcommitted in the build up which left the whole left side open which led to the Stuttgart goal by Nartey.
Jake O’Brien – Some good blocks before he was moved to RB. He is comfortable in this position
Jarrad Branthwaite – Overall good defending and some nice passes into the final third. He slipped at the important moment on the goal by Nartey.
Tim Iroegbunam – A disappointing outing for the midfielder who was taken off after only 17 minutes with an injury.
Harrison Armstrong – Another professional display from the young midfielder.
Hayden Hackney – A quiet first half with Hackney playing in front of the back two. Made a great defensive play to prevent a third goal.
Tyler Dibling – Started to take on defenders early on and linked up well with Alcaraz. Was caught in possession
Charly Alcaraz – A bright performance.
Beto – An early foray showed both his strength and his heavy touch. He was too slow and missed a sitter in the first half. Another poor showing for the striker and there is no way he should be starting.
Michael Keane – Replaced Iroegbunam and partnered Branthwaite well.(royalbluemersey)

'In his second friendly game in charge, Jaissle witnessed how ruthless and unforgiving Premier League teams can be as goals from Thierno Barry, Iliman Ndiaye and Tyrique George resulted in a commanding win for the Toffees.
Harvey Barnes scored a late consolation for the Toon, who made 10 changes at half-time with Jaissle seemingly happy to use this fixture as a chance to assess his squad.'

Merlin Röhl – Lots of running in support of Dibling and some good defending. When he moved into the middle in the second half, he pulled the strings and almost got a goal.
James Tarkowski – Solid performance and he looked more comfortable sitting next to Branthwaite.
Jarrad Branthwaite – Composed performance in the middle.
Vitaliy Mykolenko – A much better match defensively although his forward play continues to be non-existent. Aznou should get a chance to start.

'The game finally had a goal when Thierno Barry was determined to knick the ball in the middle of the park and his drive forward had him drag the ball back to Röhl who danced past a defender and slotted the ball into the top corner.
In the eight minutes of added time, O’Brien went down and looked like he was holding his hamstring, but he recovered to get back in the match. Seconds later, Braden Graham pounced on a loose ball and played a nice ball into the middle which forced the Hamburg defender to try and intercept the cross that was heading to Beto. Thankfully, Jordan Torunarigha turned Graham’s cross into his own net.'
Player Ratings from Royal Blue Mersey:
Mark Travers – Made some early saves to settle the nerves. A commanding presence on corners and did nothing other than continue to impress. No chance on the goal.
Jarrad Branthwaite – Calm and assured at the back. Probably stepped up to quickly which allowed the space in behind that Daka took on his goal. More importantly, another 65 minutes on the pitch as he builds up his fitness.
James Tarkowski – Just too slow and almost caused Hamburg to get a second goal when his touch was poor. Moments later he gave the ball up and needed to take a yellow card to prevent a goal scoring chance.
Jake O’Brien – Back in the right back slot and did the defending but provided little going forward. He does what he is asked to do but should be in the middle next to Branthwaite.
Vitalii Mykolenko – Some good covering play early on. Defending, decent. Attacking, none.
Merlin Röhl – Worked hard down the right side and his goal was well taken. He was always interested in going forward. One of his best games since his arrival.
Tim Iroegbunam – Was lucky to stay on the pitch for a second yellow in the second half. This was his fourth start in a row and looks ready to start the season.
Hayden Hackney – His first thought was always to look forward and find a play. It was great seeing him linking up with many of his teammates throughout the match.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Another excellent performance and his work with Hackney was the starting point for most of Everton’s forward play.
Tyrique George – Showed some pace on the left and was effective cutting inside. Faded as the match continued.
Thierno Barry – A good drive forward in the first half was all for nothing when his cut back was behind KDH. That was not true when he set up Röhl’s goal with a lovely drive and pass.
August 8: Stuttgart 3 Everton 1 - MHP Arena, 4pm
'Moments after Everton brought on four substitutes, Stuttgart doubled their advantage on 65 minutes when Ramon Hendriks was given too much space from a corner to head home from close range.
But the Toffees hit back quickly, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall threading a ball into fellow substitute Barry who was brought down by Fabian Bredlow as he rounded the keeper – the striker dusting himself down to score the resulting penalty.'
Mark Travers – Two very good saves near the end of the first half kept the Blues in the match. No chance on the first goal. He kept us in the game but had no support going forward.
Merlin Rohl – Started at RB, moved into the middle and was our best player going forward.
Vitalii Mykolenko – Overcommitted in the build up which left the whole left side open which led to the Stuttgart goal by Nartey.
Jake O’Brien – Some good blocks before he was moved to RB. He is comfortable in this position
Jarrad Branthwaite – Overall good defending and some nice passes into the final third. He slipped at the important moment on the goal by Nartey.
Tim Iroegbunam – A disappointing outing for the midfielder who was taken off after only 17 minutes with an injury.
Harrison Armstrong – Another professional display from the young midfielder.
Hayden Hackney – A quiet first half with Hackney playing in front of the back two. Made a great defensive play to prevent a third goal.
Tyler Dibling – Started to take on defenders early on and linked up well with Alcaraz. Was caught in possession
Charly Alcaraz – A bright performance.
Beto – An early foray showed both his strength and his heavy touch. He was too slow and missed a sitter in the first half. Another poor showing for the striker and there is no way he should be starting.
Michael Keane – Replaced Iroegbunam and partnered Branthwaite well.(royalbluemersey)

Jordan Pickford – Not much for the England #1 who made a couple of saves before he was withdrawn.
Merlin Röhl – Lots of running in support of Dibling and some good defending. When he moved into the middle in the second half, he pulled the strings and almost got a goal.
James Tarkowski – Solid performance and he looked more comfortable sitting next to Branthwaite.
Jarrad Branthwaite – Composed performance in the middle.
Vitaliy Mykolenko – A much better match defensively although his forward play continues to be non-existent. Aznou should get a chance to start.
Hayden Hackney – Sitting in front of the back four, Hackney protected them beautifully. He should get the start next week.
Harrison Armstrong – Another complete performance and it will give Moyes a headache going into the Palace match. His composure, vision and distribution was excellent.
Kiernan Dewsbury‑Hall – A MOTM performance and drew the penalty for the go ahead goal.
Tyler Dibling – Another bright outing and his first half shot got Evertonians out of their seats.
Iliman Ndiaye – His quick feet were on show and his passing opened up Lille

And there was time for a third goal before the break as, with the final kick of the half, skipper O’Shea fired home from outside the box after Union had failed to clear a sustained spell of Town pressure.
...And it was the latter of those substitutes who completed the scoring as, after being freed down the left by Philogene, Mehmeti sent in a cross which the Irish international Kasey McAteer fired home on his left foot.'

Goals: 'Liverpool’s first attack of the game saw them take the lead from a corner. The ball came through bodies and fell kindly into the path of Luke Chambers, who had the simple task of slotting home at close range.
Approaching the interval, Liverpool doubled their advantage. Jeremie Frimpong was found out wide on the right and volleyed across the box, picking out the onrushing Florian Wirtz to finish inside the six-yard box as the Whites went in 2-0 down at the break
On the hour mark, the response did come and it was from home favourite Aaronson! Ethan Ampadu created the opening and found his teammate in space, before our number 11 slotted low into the back of the net.
Calvert-Lewin’s first minutes of pre-season were influencing the forward areas, causing problems for the Liverpool defence, and parity was restored with just under 20 minutes of normal time remaining through the striker!
A long throw hurled into the middle from skipper Ampadu was flicked on to the back post by compatriot Rodon, presenting the England international with a chance he made no mistake with!
And just moments later, the comeback was complete. Justin found the run of Aaronson in behind the Reds’ backline who cut the ball invitingly into the path of the onrushing Longstaff to bundle the ball beyond Mamardashvili and into the back of the net.
In what was an almost carbon copy of the goal that drew United level, Leeds added a fourth! Calvert-Lewin was again the scorer, powering a header home from a matter of yards, after Sebastiaan Bornauw had glanced Ampadu’s throw-in onwards!

'Strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were on target for Daniel Farke’s side as they faced last term’s third-placed Bundesliga outfit, in an encounter played over 120 minutes aimed at giving as many minutes as possible to the squad.
Sean Longstaff whipped the resulting set piece in and the ball was eventually bundled home after a scramble on the goal line, only for referee Craig Pawson to disallow the effort for an alleged foul in the build-up.
Within moments, another blistering break saw Joe Rodon racing down the right flank and crossing an inviting ball into the path of our number nine Calvert-Lewin who made no mistake, firing home from close range!
With 20 minutes of the encounter remaining, a threaded Gnonto pass released Aaronson down the right. The American squared the ball for Nmecha but, at full-stretch, the ball eluded the centre-forward.
While the previous chance may have just gotten away from the attacker, there was to be no mistake next time around. It was Gnonto once more impressive down the right, scampering to the byline and cutting it back for the striker who showed his killer instincts from close range!'

'Following a quiet opening 10 minutes, our new number 1 was the first ‘keeper tested as he got down low quickly to prevent Joshua Zirkzee’s reactionary effort from nestling in the bottom corner.
However, Manchester United found the opener shortly after as Bryan Mbeumo squared the ball to Zirkzee who converted from inside the box.Just before the half hour mark, Aaronson was on hand to level the affair, rewarding James’ hard work as the Welshman won possession and weaved past the opposition’s backline before squaring to our number 11 who fired into the back of the net!
Farke made 10 changes to his side at the interval, with only Sebastiaan Bornauw retaining his place in the side for the upcoming half.

28: GOAL! Sunderland are level as McConnell loses possession deep inside the Black Cats' half allowing Le Fee to break up field and as the Reds defence backed off, the playmaker fired an unstoppable effort past a helpless Mamardashvili from 25 yards.
49: GOAL! Sunderland have turned this one around to now lead after Frimpong lost possession in a bad area, with the ball then slipped through for Tuterov, with the half-time sub finishing confidently.
56: GOAL! It is now raining goals as Szoboszlai hits an absolute worldie to bring Liverpool level after an excellent break down the left involving Koumas and Kerkez and after Sunderland only half clear the danger, the Hungary midfielder lashes home an unstoppable volley from the left edge of the box.

Goals: 'Liverpool’s first attack of the game saw them take the lead from a corner. The ball came through bodies and fell kindly into the path of Luke Chambers, who had the simple task of slotting home at close range.
Approaching the interval, Liverpool doubled their advantage. Jeremie Frimpong was found out wide on the right and volleyed across the box, picking out the onrushing Florian Wirtz to finish inside the six-yard box as the Whites went in 2-0 down at the break
On the hour mark, the response did come and it was from home favourite Aaronson! Ethan Ampadu created the opening and found his teammate in space, before our number 11 slotted low into the back of the net.
Calvert-Lewin’s first minutes of pre-season were influencing the forward areas, causing problems for the Liverpool defence, and parity was restored with just under 20 minutes of normal time remaining through the striker!
A long throw hurled into the middle from skipper Ampadu was flicked on to the back post by compatriot Rodon, presenting the England international with a chance he made no mistake with!
And just moments later, the comeback was complete. Justin found the run of Aaronson in behind the Reds’ backline who cut the ball invitingly into the path of the onrushing Longstaff to bundle the ball beyond Mamardashvili and into the back of the net.
In what was an almost carbon copy of the goal that drew United level, Leeds added a fourth! Calvert-Lewin was again the scorer, powering a header home from a matter of yards, after Sebastiaan Bornauw had glanced Ampadu’s throw-in onwards!
The full-time whistle sounded shortly afterwards, rounding off a momentous second half showing to finish a memorable tour of the US. The Whites return to Elland Road next weekend as they host Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.' Leedsunited.com

Tom Heaton: Beaten by the early goal and unusually hesitant given experience. Had settled but replaced three minutes into second half after appearing to hurt his hamstring. 6.
Noussair Mazraoui (off 46): Showed lots of energy starting at right-back on his World Cup return. Overlapping runs helped United's forwards even if he didn't get the ball so often. 7.
Ayden Heaven (off 46): Rightly booked for a thudding late challenge on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after being beaten to the ball by Ibrahim Mbaye for the opener, although he had no cover. 6.
Harry Maguire: Eye-catching pivot on the edge of his own area that drew an appreciative response from the Manchester United fans behind that goal. Also pushed forward and had a shot later on. Clearly a crowd favourite. 8.
Luke Shaw (off 64): Quiet game, although that was a positive. Fortunate to concede a corner rather than threaten his own goal with a sliced first-half clearance and took a heavy knock in the second half. Was running OK when he came off. 7.
Andrey Santos (off 64): Extended in a way he hasn't been so far in his Manchester United career but another effective display. Does the simple things well. Close range header just over from a Harry Maguire nod-back and got forward more when Mount went off. 8.
Mason Mount (off 18): Took a pretty hefty blow to his ankle in a midfield challenge. Didn't stay down but in obvious discomfort. Michael Carrick immediately sent Tyler Fletcher to warm-up and made the change soon afterwards. 6.
Amad Diallo (off 64): Quiet until an excellent challenge on 16-year-old Axel Koukaba allowed him to win possession in the PSG half. Aware enough to set up Bryan Mbuemo rather than go on his own. A repeated threat after that. 8.
Shea Lacey: Started in number 10 role once more and probably didn't get on the ball as much as he wanted. Kept his shape but not quite the same fluency as in previous games. 6.
Patrick Dorgu (off 64): Busy enough but the end product wasn't there. Needs to be more effective in dangerous positions. 6.
Bryan Mbeumo (off 64): Looping header over the bar and curled free-kick just wide. Well-taken 32nd minute leveller after being set up by Amad Diallo and then went close in the second-half. United's biggest threat. 9.
Substitutes
Dermot Mee (on 48): Replaced Heaton and didn't have loads to do. 6
Diogo Dalot (on 46): Brought energy to the right flank as usual and probably should have created a decent opportunity with one driving run to the byline. 7.
Leny Yoro (on 46): Came on in central defence but another positive performance. Good tackling, acrobatic clearance. A good pre-season so far. 7.
Harry Amass (on 64): Settled in well and got forward near the end but screwed an angled effort wide, then overhit an injury-time cross. 6
Bruno Fernandes (on 64): Rolled the ball just wide with an effort that didn't threaten the PSG goal or give Tyler Fletcher a chance to score. Old competitive instinct came out after that, curling a late effort just wide. 7
Youri Tielemans (on 64): Tidy debut and seems to have a good understanding with Bruno Fernandes, which is clearly a positive. Takes responsibility and tidy passing, even if nothing sensational. 7.
Jack Fletcher (on 64): Showed versatility to operate on the right side, which is not a natural position. Kept his shape, which is another positive but didn't threaten. 6.
Tyler Fletcher (on 18): Michael Carrick took the opportunity to have a good look at the 19-year-old Scotland international after Mount's early exit. Did well and linked the midfield with more experienced team-mates. 7.
Joshua Zirkzee (on 64): Needed treatment after being clattered by PSG keeper Matvei Safonov as the pair went for a bouncing ball inside the French side's half. Safonov booed after that. Took up good position on right and nearly created a chance but another one of those performances that threatened more than it delivered. 6.(BBC)

'Following a quiet opening 10 minutes, our new number 1 was the first ‘keeper tested as he got down low quickly to prevent Joshua Zirkzee’s reactionary effort from nestling in the bottom corner.
However, Manchester United found the opener shortly after as Bryan Mbeumo squared the ball to Zirkzee who converted from inside the box.Just before the half hour mark, Aaronson was on hand to level the affair, rewarding James’ hard work as the Welshman won possession and weaved past the opposition’s backline before squaring to our number 11 who fired into the back of the net!
Farke made 10 changes to his side at the interval, with only Sebastiaan Bornauw retaining his place in the side for the upcoming half.
Almost a carbon copy of the opening goal against RB Leipzig the week prior had Joe Rodon breaking down the right wing and crossing towards the centre of the box, this time to Harry Wilson, but his snap-shot was saved impressively.
More promise for Leeds followed, as Italian international Wilfried Gnonto’s cross had to be forced behind to prevent Dominic Calvert-Lewin making contact.
What followed was a quiet next 15 minutes, as both teams struggled to create any clear openings until Bruno Fernandes had the ball in the back of the net but the flag was up for offside. The Portuguese midfielder then hit the crossbar with an effort from the edge of the area.'

Noussair Mazraoui (off 46): Showed lots of energy starting at right-back on his World Cup return. Overlapping runs helped United's forwards even if he didn't get the ball so often. 7.
Ayden Heaven (off 46): Rightly booked for a thudding late challenge on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after being beaten to the ball by Ibrahim Mbaye for the opener, although he had no cover. 6.
Harry Maguire: Eye-catching pivot on the edge of his own area that drew an appreciative response from the Manchester United fans behind that goal. Also pushed forward and had a shot later on. Clearly a crowd favourite. 8.
Luke Shaw (off 64): Quiet game, although that was a positive. Fortunate to concede a corner rather than threaten his own goal with a sliced first-half clearance and took a heavy knock in the second half. Was running OK when he came off. 7.
Andrey Santos (off 64): Extended in a way he hasn't been so far in his Manchester United career but another effective display. Does the simple things well. Close range header just over from a Harry Maguire nod-back and got forward more when Mount went off. 8.
Mason Mount (off 18): Took a pretty hefty blow to his ankle in a midfield challenge. Didn't stay down but in obvious discomfort. Michael Carrick immediately sent Tyler Fletcher to warm-up and made the change soon afterwards. 6.
Amad Diallo (off 64): Quiet until an excellent challenge on 16-year-old Axel Koukaba allowed him to win possession in the PSG half. Aware enough to set up Bryan Mbuemo rather than go on his own. A repeated threat after that. 8.
Shea Lacey: Started in number 10 role once more and probably didn't get on the ball as much as he wanted. Kept his shape but not quite the same fluency as in previous games. 6.
Patrick Dorgu (off 64): Busy enough but the end product wasn't there. Needs to be more effective in dangerous positions. 6.
Bryan Mbeumo (off 64): Looping header over the bar and curled free-kick just wide. Well-taken 32nd minute leveller after being set up by Amad Diallo and then went close in the second-half. United's biggest threat. 9.

Dermot Mee (on 48): Replaced Heaton and didn't have loads to do. 6
Diogo Dalot (on 46): Brought energy to the right flank as usual and probably should have created a decent opportunity with one driving run to the byline. 7.
Leny Yoro (on 46): Came on in central defence but another positive performance. Good tackling, acrobatic clearance. A good pre-season so far. 7.
Harry Amass (on 64): Settled in well and got forward near the end but screwed an angled effort wide, then overhit an injury-time cross. 6
Bruno Fernandes (on 64): Rolled the ball just wide with an effort that didn't threaten the PSG goal or give Tyler Fletcher a chance to score. Old competitive instinct came out after that, curling a late effort just wide. 7
Youri Tielemans (on 64): Tidy debut and seems to have a good understanding with Bruno Fernandes, which is clearly a positive. Takes responsibility and tidy passing, even if nothing sensational. 7.
Jack Fletcher (on 64): Showed versatility to operate on the right side, which is not a natural position. Kept his shape, which is another positive but didn't threaten. 6.
Tyler Fletcher (on 18): Michael Carrick took the opportunity to have a good look at the 19-year-old Scotland international after Mount's early exit. Did well and linked the midfield with more experienced team-mates. 7.
Joshua Zirkzee (on 64): Needed treatment after being clattered by PSG keeper Matvei Safonov as the pair went for a bouncing ball inside the French side's half. Safonov booed after that. Took up good position on right and nearly created a chance but another one of those performances that threatened more than it delivered. 6.(BBC)

'Following a quiet opening 10 minutes, our new number 1 was the first ‘keeper tested as he got down low quickly to prevent Joshua Zirkzee’s reactionary effort from nestling in the bottom corner.
However, Manchester United found the opener shortly after as Bryan Mbeumo squared the ball to Zirkzee who converted from inside the box.Just before the half hour mark, Aaronson was on hand to level the affair, rewarding James’ hard work as the Welshman won possession and weaved past the opposition’s backline before squaring to our number 11 who fired into the back of the net!
Farke made 10 changes to his side at the interval, with only Sebastiaan Bornauw retaining his place in the side for the upcoming half.
Almost a carbon copy of the opening goal against RB Leipzig the week prior had Joe Rodon breaking down the right wing and crossing towards the centre of the box, this time to Harry Wilson, but his snap-shot was saved impressively.
More promise for Leeds followed, as Italian international Wilfried Gnonto’s cross had to be forced behind to prevent Dominic Calvert-Lewin making contact.

'After Dan Ndoye opened the scoring in the first five minutes on Trentside, the visitors levelled through Patrik Schick just after the half-hour mark.

Ratings Nottingham Post: John Victor: Didn't have much to do in the first half apart from deal with a couple of backpasses that had a few sweating in the stands, but he dealt with them with confidence. 7
Jair Cunha: The centre-back had an interesting figure to deal with in the gigantic frame of Ludovic Ajorque but he never really looked in any trouble. 7
Zach Abbott: Apart from the first five minutes when Brest made a lively start, the defender had very little in the way to trouble him and it was a straightforward afternoon. 7
Morato: The Brazilian enjoyed himself in the sun and it was an afternoon in which he was never really given any real problems by the Brest attack. 7
Luca Netz: The star of the show. Good feet, good ability, great engine. Was happy to burst forward and provide support in the final third. Won the penalty and then rounded off an excellent move to score himself. 8
Nicolas Dominguez: The pass which found the run of Netz was excellent and the full-back took care of the rest. A fine showing in the heart of midfield. 7
Xaver Schlager: Looked good in the heart of midfield in what was a strong showing on an afternoon which was certainly comfortable for Oliver Glasner's men. 7
Eric Da Silva Moreira: Another impressive performer and was a good outlet on the right-hand side. Didn't have much to do defensively, but what he did have to do, he did well. 7
Chris Wood: Took the penalty and there was no doubt about it as soon as it left his boot. Presence up front was a good option for Forest to hit. 7
Callum Hudson-Odoi: The attacker chalked up 45 minutes before he was taken off as he looks to improve his match sharpness. Had a hand in the second goal. 7
Arnaud Kalimuendo: Switched from the right to the left in the second half and there were a couple of excellent runs which troubled the Brest defence. 7
Omari Hutchinson (Hudson-Odoi 45): Showed some good pace. 6
Dilane Bakwa (Wood 66): Tried to stretch the Brest defence. 6
Omar Richards (Cunha 77): Helped protect the clean sheet. 6
Tyler Bindon (Abbott 77): As above. 6
'Netz won a penalty when he was hauled down by Mama Balde which allowed Chris Wood to score from the spot.

Ratings Nottingham Post: John Victor: Didn't have much to do in the first half apart from deal with a couple of backpasses that had a few sweating in the stands, but he dealt with them with confidence. 7
Jair Cunha: The centre-back had an interesting figure to deal with in the gigantic frame of Ludovic Ajorque but he never really looked in any trouble. 7
Zach Abbott: Apart from the first five minutes when Brest made a lively start, the defender had very little in the way to trouble him and it was a straightforward afternoon. 7
Morato: The Brazilian enjoyed himself in the sun and it was an afternoon in which he was never really given any real problems by the Brest attack. 7
Luca Netz: The star of the show. Good feet, good ability, great engine. Was happy to burst forward and provide support in the final third. Won the penalty and then rounded off an excellent move to score himself. 8
Nicolas Dominguez: The pass which found the run of Netz was excellent and the full-back took care of the rest. A fine showing in the heart of midfield. 7
Xaver Schlager: Looked good in the heart of midfield in what was a strong showing on an afternoon which was certainly comfortable for Oliver Glasner's men. 7
Eric Da Silva Moreira: Another impressive performer and was a good outlet on the right-hand side. Didn't have much to do defensively, but what he did have to do, he did well. 7
Chris Wood: Took the penalty and there was no doubt about it as soon as it left his boot. Presence up front was a good option for Forest to hit. 7
Callum Hudson-Odoi: The attacker chalked up 45 minutes before he was taken off as he looks to improve his match sharpness. Had a hand in the second goal. 7
Arnaud Kalimuendo: Switched from the right to the left in the second half and there were a couple of excellent runs which troubled the Brest defence. 7
Omari Hutchinson (Hudson-Odoi 45): Showed some good pace. 6
Dilane Bakwa (Wood 66): Tried to stretch the Brest defence. 6
Omar Richards (Cunha 77): Helped protect the clean sheet. 6
Tyler Bindon (Abbott 77): As above. 6
'Netz won a penalty when he was hauled down by Mama Balde which allowed Chris Wood to score from the spot.
Netz then got in on the act himself when he finished an excellent move which saw Callum Hudson-Odoi's feed Nicolas Dominguez whose excellent first-time pass was converted by Netz.'

The Lads then sealed victory in the 82nd minute as Chemsdine Talbi picked our Isidor's smart run in the box - and the Haitian striker cleverly poked the ball beyond the Lens 'keeper.'

'Robin Roefs: 6/10
Couldn’t get near what was a great penalty and only had a few soft shots to deal with, although their was a wide open shot very early on that should have hit the target. Showed how good he is with his feet early into the game when he skilfully turned the press.
Trai Hume: 7/10
Played a more traditional right back role today and did well defensively, although the team had a little less control in the first half as a result. Still popped up with another goal, passing home from eight yards out via a set piece.
Dan Ballard: 6/10
Was heavily involved in the game, had multiple shots when up for set pieces and defended well off the ball but there were a couple of dodgy moments. Bursting out of defence early, he lost the ball and was lucky to see a lob go wide, then gave away a sloppy penalty.
Luke O’Nien: 7/10
Had a relatively easy game defensively, although had to be alert with a dangerous cross that he managed to head over from close range. Played some great balls out of defence today and put in a brilliant cross that Reinildo could only steer wide.
Reinildo: 8/10
Shut out any threat down his side and put in some great recovery tackles when Rennes were threatening. Also got into some great positions going forward, overlapped for Talbi and a good shot was deflected wide, just missed when he got onto the end of O’Nien’s cross then forced a brilliant save from Samba from a Rigg cross.
Granit Xhaka (C): 7/10
Usual metronome in midfield, kept the ball ticking and played a couple of good defence splitting passes that were so close to playing a Sunderland player in.
Noah Sadiki: 7/10
Covered loads of ground, plugged holes at the back and drove up the left flank whenever the opportunity arose, so a typical Sadiki performance.
Chemsdine Talbi: 6/10
Some decent bursts down the left flank and always looking to put a cross in rather than take it on himself.
Enzo Le Fee: 7/10
Popped up all over the pitch, making himself an option for whoever was on the ball. Had some classy runs that caused Rennes issues.
Nilson Angulo: 6/10
There were some really bright moments down the right from him and worked hard out of possession but a few too many offsides when he was well placed after a good diagonal out to him.
Brian Brobbey: 7/10

- FS Record: Tied for OR 1st worldwide in FPL in GW5 in 21/22 (only to then finish 1m), and ranked 1st in TFF late in season 21/22 (eventual finish 95th). Won an old game called Football Fantastic. Best Fanteam finish 117th and cashed £150. Best FPL finish 2.4K.
