Even if you decide to change who your AM is before this week's deadline, it will cost you a free transfer or -4 hit.DeanoMK wrote: 30 Jan 2025, 22:33Thanksjacksosi wrote:No, using the chip doesn’t use a transfer, but any change to the AM after that doesDeanoMK wrote:If I make a player transfer and then activate the AM chip, does that count as a transfer?![]()
I'd actually rather play it with the herd. Less variance might mean less of an opportunity to get ahead but it also means luck is less of a factor so skill is more important.NorthBankRedemption wrote: 30 Jan 2025, 16:04 the hard part is not understanding how the chip works
the hard part is whether to go with the herd and the gw24 TC or to save it.
If that's what you find suitable then sure. To me, suitable is the first small DGW of the season.
With £0 in the bank, no free transfers and 3 Liverpool players I definitely won't be using my AM chip on anyone this week.redcat1 wrote: 31 Jan 2025, 22:25 Im also very tempted to use nothing this week then TC Salah next GW (providing there’s a double). If no double I’ll likely use AM
Fair point, I did go with Moyes in the end because it's objectively the best move in my position.Smurphy Paw wrote: 31 Jan 2025, 17:37 First world problem, mate. I’d love the chance to play someone for or against my team. Better to have points against your club than be languishing in the Championship.
Apart from that, yeah, I understand
I did the same at 10.55 this morning, just wanted to stop thinking about it.RomynPG wrote: 01 Feb 2025, 10:57 I couldn't decide so have gone 3xLIV and Salah(tc).
I could play TC next GW but there's no guarantee LIV get a double and as I've got all my other chips as well so will go for it now.
Thought about playing the AM but I think there'll be an opportunity to do it without blocking decent options for the other chips and and in a way where there's a better chance of table bonuses.
Horrendous chip.
Typical FPL...Resonare wrote: 31 Jan 2025, 13:43Also, I'm seriously considering the gamble on AM24 Pereria (AVL)...
I agree but it's even more fundemental than that.NorthBankRedemption wrote: 11 Feb 2025, 15:47 Can I tell you what's REALLY stupid about this chip?
why is it a fixed 10 pt bonus for beating any team 5 or more spots above you in the table?
couldn't it just be 1 point for each spot they are above you?
if it was 5 spots, you'd get 5 bonus points. if it was 10 spots, you'd get 10 bonus points. wouldn't this make it so much more fun and encourage diversity of selection, rather than just trying to target top 4 or the teams with exactly 5 spots between them?
if a team in 9th beats the team in 4th, shouldn't the reward for the team in 20th to beat the team in 4th be greater?
they really haven't thought this things through and if experimenting with new chips they shouldn't be multi gameweek arcs that disable other options like holding 3 players from one club or meaning you can't use another chip for those 3 weeks.
18 years i've been doing this and it just gets dumber and dumber.
the whole thing is so needlessly limiting.

I've just rearranged it a bit to make it a bit easier to read, imo ...
I know, the universe is clearly against you! You should lodge a complaint with the deity of your choice.NorthBankRedemption wrote: 14 Feb 2025, 16:46 and now Gakpo is injured and Watkins is not?
So I could have (should have?) done Gak -> Wat and had Slot like I wanted all along
this garbage is absolutely maddening
