Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Its bumper DGW 29, what looks like the biggest DGW of the season, so what are you doing?
I've played the last few weeks taking a hit each week, so still have a WC, BB and FH chips remaining.
The way its fallen for me I currently have 9 of a squad of 15 with doubles in 29, and with many of the single GW option like Haaland, Saka, and Kane being players I am going to want for the run in, I'm pretty much set on doing a FH in 29 and going for 11 double game week players, which can revert back to Haaland and co for the following week, and leaves me with a plan to use my WC to set up for the BB once the final blanks/doubles of the season are confirmed.
From what I can gather most people who still have the chip are planning on using the BB in 29, hows it fallen for you, what are you doing?

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Also for me I like the fact the international break won't impact on a FH, any players returning back from internationals injured I can just replace, whereas those managers on recent wild card or activated BB or those who have made early transfers have a nervous wait to see if their players all come back in one piece.
I don't know if the USA have any internationals over this period, but as Christian Pulisic seems to find new creative ways of getting injured while playing for Chelsea, I can't imagine what kind of fate could befall him if he was allowed the wander the globe

Widcard for me I'm pretty sure. Probably end up with 2 x Man C, 3 x Brighton, 2 x Chelsea, 2 x Man U, Saka, Trippier etc. Man C will be Ederson and Haarland. Will likely Kane out for a week to accommodate Watkins and Havertz and back in shortly thereafter. Probably FH FA Cuo semi weekend so lots of these players will have an extra double later.

Provided no injuries, I will play my BB with 12 doublers after a (-4) hit.

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Currently got 11 doublers and plan on BB.
Not sure what my transfer will be yet, don't like the idea of getting rid of my Arsenal players with a fixture at home to Leeds. Got Raya and Henry, might get rid of Henry to bring Shaw back in.
Other idea is Toney to Havertz. Not going to make any moves until after the international fixtures though.

BBing, with already a FT planned in Ward. Any ideas for GK, just for 29? (Already have Kepa.) Presently considering Steele, Emi, Raya, Areola, Pope, DdG.. probably in that order.

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Is there a rough idea as to the best ratio of -4s vs dgw/ bench boost players. Currently have 6 on a dgw but both 'keepers are possibly dropped (Ward & Sanchez). Thinking of doing 5 transfers (-16) (Ward, Sanchez, Saliba, J W-P & Saka to Arrizbalaga, Reya, Koulibaly, Maddison and March) and playing the BB. That would take me from 6 doubles, 4 singles and possibly no gk to 26 scoring players in total, so -16 & the BB would give me an extra 10 scorers. Never gone so big on hits before though. Alternately, could just use my free transfer and bring in a keeper and take me up to 18. Should really get rid of Saliba though too. Thoughts?

at the moment have 11 doublers + Kane, Saka, Martinelli and Zinchenko, so will probably swap Zinchenko for someone with a double (Shaw?) and play BB
kind of fancy doing something crazy for -4 like Saka to Bruno…

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
You can easily cut that down to -8. Lose the non-playing GKs, keep the Arsenal assets (don't know Saliba injury status).giddyfool wrote:Is there a rough idea as to the best ratio of -4s vs dgw/ bench boost players. Not BBing shouldn't be discounted either. Any more than a -8 probably means you have 'benchable' players? Lot of teams play each other in 29 anyway..

Ward and Saliba are concerns but otherwise I have 11 doublers with 3 Arsenal and Kane with decent fixtures. BB planned

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Ward, a concern? Putting it lightly. Yeah that was a kick in the teeth of the WC in terms of timing. I didn't want to waste a transfer on another Lei keeper so I coudn't afford Watkins; went the inferior Iheanacho. So it's a -4 for a keeper next week to BB, and thus 8 points lost and counting in what has been an awful season so far.Mo Bot wrote: 19 Mar 2023, 18:50 Ward and Saliba are concerns but otherwise I have 11 doublers with 3 Arsenal and Kane with decent fixtures. I'll have 12 doublers I think, with Kane, Odegaard and Gabriel being BB'ed. One of my XI is Iheanacho, so it's basically a horror show, to match the rest of the seasson. I had a feeling it would be when I chose Kane over Haal GW1, where Spurs got 4 goals and Kane blanked while Haal braced away at WHam, in a 2-0 win.
Still, that Man U Fulham game today was entertaining.

Will be playing BB
Currently have 11 doublers + Kane, Saka, Martinelli, Zinchenko
Would like to get at least one more doubler in there so considering shifting one or more of the arsenal boys.

I already have differentials and I still have wildcard. Going against the herd (probably) and wait for another Gameweek

Don"t do anything rash Wahine you are scores are great at the moment . Don"t sell Haaland or Sakawahine wrote: 20 Mar 2023, 01:09i was, once again, planning Bench Boost, but I have Ward
and Toney
, (I think Haaland will outscore him
) Tarkowski to trade
and I don't trust the Chelsea manager or the minutes, formation or the clean sheet potential (Everton got two goals
) I would have to sell Saka to get near Maddision I wouldn't mind buying Havertz instead of Toney and Isak also but that means selling Haaland...

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
My plan has been to BB this week, off the back of a WC in GW27. I used one transfer last week to get 10 on the pitch, and expected to need one hit this week to get 14 doublers plus Kane. So, what's changed?
Toney may well get booked in game 1 to get banned but no great shakes if he misses MU(A) and I'm down to 13 doublers. I knew this coming in and he's out on his ear next gameweek anyway (or could be easily benched).
Meanwhile, fate has thrown a Ward-sized curveball, which is easily fixed by bringing Iversen in with my FT. If I'm playing BB, I really need a second keeper, plus he fits my plans going forwards, so any resultant hit shouldn't feel too painful.
My plans were Saka
Fernandes and/or Mee
Shaw. I expect I'll still do the former for -4 and vaccillate wildly on whether I do the latter. I want shot of Mee pronto and think Shaw will probably outscore him by 4 over this gameweek and going forwards but -8 just feels wrong so soon after a wildcard.
Plus of course, the international break could throw more curveballs.

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Assuming he is OK, might just do Ward to Iverson and Bueno to a cheapie Forest defender for a -4 and bench boost. Expecting some disaster during the IB to scupper that plan though. You should change the poll to allow flip-flop re-voting!

Lots of injuries forced my hand, WC. 8 doublers, mostly due to trying to keep White, Martinelli and Haaland on the pitch. Any must-haves I should bring in?

Lots of tweaks and some tinkering after posting to put together 10-11 doublers. Currently:Charade wrote: 22 Mar 2023, 22:19 Lots of injuries forced my hand, WC. 8 doublers, mostly due to trying to keep White, Martinelli and Haaland on the pitch. Any must-haves I should bring in?
Steele - Estupinan, Trippier, Shaw - Fernandes, Rashford, Mitoma, Martinelli (single), Salah - Isak, Toney
Bench: Leno, Haaland, White, Mings
I'm torn between Martinelli vs Haaland on the pitch and the other on the bench.

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
Bench boost with 2fts available, 13 doublers.
Major concern is replacing Ward.
Minor concerns are Rashford injury, Henry/Mee/Toney fixtures and Toney getting a yellow/other kind of suspension before international injuries.
Ultimately would like a Ward replacement and to carry however.

BB with 13 doubles (plus Kane and Martinelli). Considering getting Shaw in now for either Pinnock or Schar. Erring towards Pinnock out as I think Brentford may have a poor end to the season.

Both transfers look good not only for 29, but also for 30. Shaw vs goalshy Everton at home, and Maddison at home vs Bournemouth.
Gw 30 is a normal gw, so obviously depending on your overall situation, postponing the wc might be worth considering.

Re: Bumper DGW 29, what are you doing?
The idea behind WC was to change from a bloated 15 to a concentrated 11, getting Haaland back in the process and investing in some Liverpool as well. You're right though: if I have a straightforward route to Haaland, I can delay it till 32.Lucky wrote:Do you really need to wc in gw 30.SirMattBugsby wrote: 27 Mar 2023, 18:44Edging towards Emi or, if he's likely to start, Areola as a one-week punt (likely to WC 30).
