Re: Eliteserien 2023
FYI, Molde lost 2-3 to Galatasaray yesterday.
Goals from Ellingsen and Haugen.
Btw, Linnes did not participate due to a minor (?) injury.
Molde wasted a number of chances and this did in all likelihood cost them the CL (they were obviously underdogs in any case). It doens't mean a lot to us. Molde may opt to rest some players in Turkey, but they cannot pretend that they have no chance at all. One goal could be the difference. We will not know their playing 11 for GW21 ahead of deadline so not very tempting to risk it.
In the longer term they will have matches in Europe regardless, but it will be EL instead of CL. The EL level is more suited to Molde, I strongly believe that CL would have been too much for them and losses would have accumulated. It may do in EL as well. but I remind you that B/G did very well in Europe recently so they should be given a decent chance.

Thanks Bolla, very interesting post
Would you mind to share your thoughts on a Rich Uncle team for GW23? I posted one a couple of days back, but that had been with the expectation that Brann would go out of Europe, so have to put together a new one.
Let's forget some of the teams with one game: Aalesund, Rosenborg and Haugesund. No player from these teams will enter a GW23 RU team.
Teams with one game where there is some potential: Viking* at home to Sandefjord, Odd at home to Haugesund, Molde* away to Strømsgodset, Sarpsborg away to HamKam. Note that we will know the team from Molde ahead of the deadline (as we will for Strømsgodset, Ålesund and Stabæk). Player pool I consider from these are Tripic, Brekalo, Linnes and Ruud.
B/G is the DGW-team with best potential. Pelle, Grønbæk, Faris are good picks, but not at all sure they start both.
Lillestrøm has two home games. Their form is shaky but I do consider TLE and Dragsnes. Åsen?
The Brann fixtures are mixed, I consider Soltvedt and Finne.
Tromsø has two away games (Brann and Stabæk). They can be worthwile, Erlien perhaps.
Strømsgodset has two tricky games, I think I'll stay away. Valsvik is the only one I considered, but "no thanks".
I don't particularly trust Vålerenga, HamKam or Sandefjord and have no player from those. It will take a lot to change my mind. Ok, Al-Saed if he does great in the next games.
That leaves Stabæk. TC is tempting, fixtures are good, but the team is not. Petterson as GK is in. Maybe Næss as well. Høgh? Perhaps. But we cannot expect anyone, apart from Pettersson, to start all three. Some will, but it's not something I expect from the outset. Næss is a gamble I could be willing to accept.
That leaves a potential GW 23 RU team:
Petterson/anybody
Næss/Dragsnes/Soltvedt (Linnes/Brekalo)
Pellegrino/Grønbæk/Erlien/Tripic (Åsen)
Finne/TLO/Faris Mo
This team is about 14 units more costly than funds I have available so I can only get close if I use the RU.
I don't have to worry about the "Attack" or "Two captains".
* I see that the above does not include the match between Molde and Viking as part of GW23. I previousy thought it was, but not according to the schedule i found today.

Re: Eliteserien 2023
Just realized that they haven’t added the Molde vs Viking game to GW23 in the app but this game will take place in September 30 or October 1. Reason for the date still open is that whether they play in UCK (Tue/Wed) or Europa League (Thu). This will be confirmed after the second leg of Molde next week
Additional info: Saeter back in training but not sure yet, whether he will/can feature this Sunday against Aalesund

Re: Eliteserien 2023
If Molde-Viking is to be added to GW23 (as I first thought) it adds to the attraction of Brekalo, Tripic and Linnes. All in my draft team anyhow. I doubt that I'll add more, but they will be more likely to get into the starting eleven.Stormrider wrote: 24 Aug 2023, 14:16 Just realized that they haven’t added the Molde vs Viking game to GW23 in the app but this game will take place in September 30 or October 1. However, Brekalo is moving abroad and not sure whether I want to play a Viking defender now (Bjorshol as best option I would guess) from a Viking defence which gets weaker without Brekalo plus one game vs Molde away.
Molde: think I wrote about that above. They have SIF away (weekend) - Cup semi-final (midweek) - Viking home (weekend) - UCL or Europe League (midweek). Could imagine that they play a second string team at least in the SIF away game. So, most probably no Molde player for me in GW23 even with the double. Probably, as mentioned by you, Linnes IF he starts against SIF away but it‘s not two good games anyway.
Dragsnes looks more dangerous again now since Adams left. Naess probably with the 3 games and then the 3rd defender is s bit open. Linnes, Bjorshol, Soltvedt all options. Probably also putting Vesterlund in the mix.

Re: Eliteserien 2023
Yes, Brekalo is an uncertainty, but we will know more as we approach the deadline. He was in the draft I made earlier today, but no commitment there.
Same for Linnes and Molde. If I see that Linnes start against Strømsgodset then I'll probably have him in my team. It's less tempting if he's saved for the Viking game. I agree with Stormrider and what he wrote about Molde. I doubt anyone will get both games.
I'm not certain that I'll play the RU in GW23 as it's an option to use it in GW20. However, I've not spent time looking at the consequences so I doubt that I'll divert from my original plan. GW20 will be very tough for my team.

Re: Eliteserien 2023
This is intersting; Viking take Adegbenro on loan from the Chinese club where he's currently employed.
Some of you may remember Adegnebro.
He is a brilliant footballer in my view and did very well in Viking some years back.
His career with Rosenborg was less successful due to injuries, but he impressed when in form (which was not too often).
Then he moved on to Sweden where he absolutely smashed it and became, if I recall correctly, top scorer in Allsvenskan.
I don't know how he's been doing after Sweden, but Adegbenro in form is worthy consideration in Fantasy Football. Someone for RU in GW23 or perhaps for the WC we soon will play?

Re: Eliteserien 2023
Remember him from I think my first season playing Eliteserien Fantasy. That was at Rosenborg already, as you said, many ups and downs. Allsvensksn then was crazy indeed (see below). Question is, how fit is he? And I was very surprised he‘s only 27 years old
. Could indeed be an interesting one, once he‘s fit:

Re: Eliteserien 2023
You guys going will the team for this strange but at the same time also very interesting gameweek?
Infos I have (at least what I understand currently):
- Saeter starting from the bench as already pointed out by Oxford above. Also Tangvik, Nelson and Reitan unsure plus rumours about a transfer bid for Holse
Al-Saed should start what I read. Definitely an interesting one for the ones on RU or having a free midfield slot
- Juklerod, Strandberg and Haakans fighting against the time at the Valerenga team

4 goals in the first match so the prediction is looking good. Sandberg's 14 points were not so easy to predict, Lundqvist was the better pick imo even with his 3 points.

Re: Eliteserien 2023
That was an ugly GW! 26 (-4).
Well, ugly for me at least. My two transfers added to my loss as I would have captained Wichne without that double transfer.
I see those who played RU or WC got some excellent scores. Well played to you!
I should probabaly regret my choice, but keep in mind that the final verdict is given after GW23.
I didn't fall that much in OR despite my lousy score so there are plenty of players who really suffered this GW.
I'm not sure when to WC. Maybe this GW, but the team is no disaster if I assume that my two Molde will play next GW. I think they will and that would set my team apart from many and could give a much needed boost.

RU helped me increase rank up to 8k which is my highest of the season. Only WC left so will have to figure out when to use it. My team is as below and no Molde players does concern me. Will have to figure out who to captain next round also - Pellegrino, Tripic, Finne all decent options? Only 1 FT also!
Myrha
Soldtvedt, Naess, Valsvik
Pellegrino, Tripic, Nypan, Lundqvist
Kirkevold, Finne, Lehne Olsen
Hagen - Ngouali - Gundersen - Fosnæss Hanssen

There were some (at least for me) very unexpected results. So. your approach with not destroying your team was the right one

Bolla took over the lead in the FISO FPL league with a great 64 points.
Oxford on 2nd place with 7 points back, then TBL on third with 12 points back.
At the tail of the league MTPockets and Stormrider with 18 and 20 points behind Bolla. Congrats to the 3 on the podium for a firing start and some work to to for MTPockets and me

Re: Eliteserien 2023
We're approaching transfer deadline and there are a lot of rumors in addition to those above. We should hold our transfers as long as we can. WC can be a get-out-of-jail card.
In other news I'll mention that Molde lost to Galatasaray yesterday. They gave a good fight and Hestad made a goal. Linnes not starting due to injury. Grødem and Kitolano not starting and I hope they were rested for the game this upcoming GW as they are in my team.
My plan is to save the WC this week and try to do ok with one FT. That means no Tripic, Faris or Grønbæk. Pelle for captain.

Re: Eliteserien 2023
Bodø/Glimt is through to the Conference league. But it took them 120 minutes yesterday and I have to say I'm a bit worried about the game time for Pelle the upcoming GW. He (and others) got tired and we could risk some changes to the team. Btw, Pelle had a great match, he scored two and could have had more.
Brann played the 120 minutes plus penalties, losing 5-6 on penalties to AZ Alkmaar. Brann is hence out of Europe for this season. Soltvedt came on as a sub and did great, according to media.

Mannsverk has left for Ajax. That will be a loss for Molde and I haven't seen a proper replacement for him. Brynhildsen is not confirmed yet, as far as I know. But it is said that he'll be leaving too (for Denmark).TheBigLewandowski wrote: 01 Sep 2023, 13:10 Have Mannsverk and Brynhildesen left Molde, or are due to leave in this transfer window?

Yes, I read somewhere that Kristiansen will undergo surgery.
There has been a lot of movement over the last few days and I won't pretend to have the full overview. But not a lot of the obvious fantasy targets have left. Perhaps of relevance: Dragsnes (Lillestrøm) is off to Belgium. The transfer deadline has passed in Norway so no more players will come in. But those who came over the last week are not all yet in the fantasy game.
I noted that Fredrik Guldbrandsen has come to Molde. He can be of interest if Brynhildsen leaves.
Jo Inge Berget has signed for Sarpsborg. I don't know if he is close to the quality he had some years back.
