Pick Quick 22-23 - Standings

Post by velcro »

Welcome back folks and hello to those new to playing this season! Hopefully we can grow the players in the game. Spread the gospel :D

First of all an apology for the late start to GW1. Hopefully it hasn't been too much of a downer, was just a hell of a week that I got lost in. At least richt didn't pick quick and right off the whole season early doors.

woody71 and albionjulie got off to good starts with the joint top score of 13. hayesag got in first to get Salah who returned 12 himself.
But maybe Mo won't be an automatic pick this season. We can only hope....

GW2 certainly threw up a few surprises.

our defending champion richt lost all the points earned last week thanks to Darwin Nunez getting his marching orders.
stripes1973 didn't want him to be alone in this, losing his point due to Mitrovic missing his pen.

top marks for 17 days with Jesus delivering big style for Arsenal.
woody71 picked KDB who also returned well with 14 points to maintain top spot.
Notable mention dino1980 for the only other double digit return from Cancelo.

Welcome back to f4c and chris2k_11 - apologies if the late lauch of GW1 caused you to miss out early doors.

It's so nice this season to be playing with no pressure. I put too much on myself last term.

Enjoy the season all.

GW3 had one of those bizarre things that I'm not sure I've seen since I took over running this game - no player chose a double digit return.
13 players to choose from, no-one took any of them.

Chelsea let a few down, defenders ain't getting many CS points either.

Onz got the top score of 8 thanks to Salah's late consolation

Woody71 still setting the early pace

So Liverpool were a bust prior to this week.
You (and hayesag especially) have got to ask how does the team score 9 goals and Salah has no involvement in any of them???

City showed shome defensive charity which will have annoyed RomynPG, but then Haaland helped richt with his hattrick.

Richt and dino1980 shared the GW top score of 17, albert_ini not far behind.
I shouldn't have picked a cko in Isak, but I heard a rumour he might be in the squad.

Anyway, a quick turnaround for GW5. Good luck all!

GW5 in the books and Haaland continues to dominate.

We've had different GW top scorers every week so far, hayesag joining that group this week.
f4c and richt also made it into double figures

GW6 done and no-one hit double figures.

Chelsea and Liverpool players continue to disappoint.

We also have another GW with joint top scorers - andybarrell and RomynPG both bringing in 9 points
Still no-one has managed a second GW high score. We're such a nice bunch sharing it around huh?

Not a lot of change at the top of the rankings

After the GW7 break we're back with a slightly constricted GW8 with some of the bigger teams not playing.

City, Spurs and Arsenal all popular. Albert_ini trusted in Son's kwality over form and while he didn't start, Leicester seemed more than willing to let him potentially kick start his season with a cracking 19 points

GW9 had some high scores.

We got our first player to get a 2nd highest GW score. No surprise really it was richt and certainly no surprise it was via Haaland. Perhaps Salah is feeling separation anxiety from richt in this game and that explains his relatively poor form?
Anyway, that massive 23 point haul has propelled richt to the top of the table.

Foden & Maddison also returned big scores for Stripes1973 & PleasedToMichu respectively.

I don't really want to mention my pick, but -2 really can't be ignored. Thanks Sinisterra.

I'm on vacation shortly so GW updates won't be possible for a little while (I'll be fine to post the GW threads) - I'll be back with a summary after the completion of GW13.

So I'm back from my vacation and I've got 4 gameweeks to catch up on. Very quick summaries:

GW10 - RomynPG took the big score from Cancelo's 18
GW11 - Chris2k_11 got the only double digit return via Toney
GW12 - With no Arsenal or City no big scores returned. I top scored with 8
GW13 - woody71 got to take Haaland and he didn't disappoint with the 13 point return

That top score in GW13 has taken woody71 clear at the top of the table.richt has a slight gap in second, whilst there's only 7 points separating third and seventh.

GW14 didn't bring many big scores - only 2 double digit returns

RomynPG got first pick but it didn't work out as Haaland didn't play.
Richt took KDB and 11 points secured his third top GW score of the season.

The world cup gets ever closer but the quest for FPL points continues still

Mo Salah showed the form we expect of him to nab top score this GW for dino1980
richt was unlucky with Cancelo at pick 3 with the red card returning -2

chris2k_11 got the only other double digit return with the last pick and the ever reliable Trippier

woody71 stretches his lead at the top to 16 points

The WC break is upon us, so here's the GW16 update.

Plenty of City players chosen this week, but only Foden returned.
Albert_ini got top marks opting for Darwin. That moved him up to 2nd in the table.

Woody71 has a 15 point lead now and will be top at xmas :)

It's been ages since I had to post this, how do I do it again??

Chris2k_11 took the high GW score as Rashford continued his good form with 14 points.

Haaland had his expected strong game, giving albert_ini a great 13 which means he has really closed in on Woody71 at the top - 23 points made up in just 2 GWs!

Fulham & Chelsea doubled this week.
Quite a few of you opted from players from these squads with mixed results.

Mitrovic got booked so halved his opportunities, a lot of Chelsea players just didn't deliver.
Shout out to dino1980 with a late shout for Leno and the keeper returned 14 points - nice one!

Harry Kane showed you didn't need a DGW to deliver and 16 points was a great result and top GW score for 17days.
Elsewhere some of traditional favourites like Salah and Haaland didn't deliver.

It's tight up top again as that score for 17days puts him 1st, level on points with woody71 but has the highest individual GW score tie breaker.

So everybody chose a player who had a DGW for this round.

There were varied results, but top marks were shared by woody71 and chris2k_11 who managed to get 19 points.

That has benefited woody71 greatly who surged clear at the top.

Haaland got himself back on his crazy form, much to the delight of richt who top scored for the 4th time this season.
Nketiah also rewarded hayesag with a double digit return.

Still a bit of a gap for woody71 at the top, but very little separating 2nd and 6th

DGW players are always strongly selected and it was no different this week as Leeds and Manchester Utd players were high on the list.

Being quick out of the blocks was shown to be important as hayesag and richt chose the best scoring players. Richt took the top gameweek score for the second week running with 20.
Others weren't quite as successful, with albert_ini choosing Rodrigo just before his injury was announced and albionjulie getting a negative return from Casemiro.

Richt's form has boosted him up to second in the table, woody71 still holding onto the top spot

Another DGW and the involved players of Man City & Arsenal were heavily selected.

It was the Man City players who took the majority of the big scores, double digit returns for Hayesag and chris2k_11, but we had a joint top score of 15 from Richt and 17 days.

That was richt's 6th top score and 3rd in a row. He's also moved to the top of the standings once more. At least he's not streaked away like last season.

Not a lot to say about this week - most of us had a stinker.

Not Onz and Dino1980 though who used the good form of Man Utd to get double digit returns, Onz with the top score

Wow. Some big scores this week, including the biggest score of the season so far.

Congrats to 17days on choosing Martinelli - a player many thought would struggle after missing Jesus and the arrival of Trossard

The top 4 have a gap on the rest of the field, but with plenty of DGW players to come it's not too late for someone to make a late run at things

A lot of the quick picks didn't pay off this week with the majority of players expectations left with poor returns.

No-one clearly expected Liverpool to run riot, well maybe apart from dino1980 who was the only one to go with one of them, Salah returning 21 points.
Stripes1973 with the only other double digit return as Foden seems to be back in favour.

Still fairly tight at the top of the table
