I see WHam have signed Areola permanently and are likely to get Lingaard on July 1st when he is a free agent.

One is a bit of a tit and the other one is a goalkeeper.

Henderson signed on loan… good move in itself, though rules out a Garner return. Still massive holes at wing-back and attacking midfield, with Zinckernagel having gone to Olympiakos (Marinakis’s other club). Not being swayed by sentiment over the promotion-winning loan players might be a fair enough approach, but then again, can we expect half a new team to hit the ground running and to recapture the chemistry that last season’s bunch had? Might be like expecting back-to-back winning lottery tickets.

It looks like Leeds have swooped and bought two players for Phillips. Mo Camara and Tyler Adams is looking heavily on the cards this week.

We have to buy this summer as the Bielsa Bounce is still in the potential players heads. It could be a disastrous season but on the flip side it could go the other way. It feels as though the Leeds board are seriously trying to grab an American fan base. I know Marsch is more defensively minded than Bielsa but who isn't? Aaronson is their midfield darling and Tyler Adams their no nonsense, nothing fancy play breaker. It all looks good on paper but I'm flipping a coin here when rating our chances of a good season. With the 49ners getting ready to take full control we can but just pray it's the right route.

Jimmy Garoppolo for the deep-lying midfield playmaker role? ;)

Sinisterra is the feeling around Elland Road at the moment. He's on his way from Feyenord. Left winger and can dance a lot and he loves back heeling. Well time will tell

Neco Williams in, then, on a permanent deal. Another position of need crossed off the list…

How are you feeling about the PL start then, ff? I'm looking for a cheapish talisman striker in FPL and (fixtures aside) thinking that Johnson might be fit the bill. I think back to the FA Cup QF you played against us and just feel like you could get some points on the board early at home especially, and am hoping your style translates a bit better into PL life than say Fulham's will...

I don’t like our August fixtures very much, but as I said on the TFF thread I think, really impressed by the way we’ve gone about transfer business. After a generation’s absence it would have been unforgivable not to “go for it”… and we’ve done that, though obviously every individual signing represents something of a gamble, and there’s a question of whether new signings hit the ground running. So downside risk is there (especially with replacing more than half the starting XI, in all likelihood) but the upside could be big.

Johnson is probably the safest bet to start with if you want a Forest player, sure to start if fit, and while new to the PL obviously isn’t new to the club or the English game.

Palace are having 2 separate Pre Seasons for some reason I'm not interested in, but it can't be a good thing?

seems they have a few unvaxed, plus some injury recoveries. Also seems like Vieira is not happy about it.

Looks like a bit of a battering for us, but new players take time to gel and it’s not one we’d have been banking on getting anything out of. At least we avoided a really demoralising scoreline.

£100m spent and still no shirt sponsor. I wonder who they’re waiting for… I suppose with backing two collapsed betting firms in the space of a couple of years, they’re a bit cautious now?

Our previous owner Fawaz just used to put his own company’s name on the shirts if he couldn’t find a sufficiently lucrative alternative.

Any company seeing their name on that green-yellow pukefest would want their money back, regardless of the quality of football…

I suppose notoriety works, though, we remember many of the cycling sponsors of the ‘90s and ‘00s (a few are still around…) ;)

They do/did especially on the US market and there's loads of club based NFT stuff going on at the moment.

Would have thought they'd love a PL shirt sponsorship after Watford going down.

I’d take a local brewery like in the good old days (no piss-up jokes…)

My Shipstones-sponsored shirt had a habit of bunching up on the back of a chair to read “shit ones”.
