Spurs Chat 2023-24
While all seems hunky dory, I think that they need to keep Conte there as he got them playing the best football I've seen them play since well before Poch.
As long as they are honest with him, then I'd 3xoe t him to stay. If they're not then he could well walk - and that's one reason that I quite like him.

Re: Spurs 2022-3
Conte to continue showing Man United why he was the Manager they should have gone for?

Conte staying, Perisic potentially arriving (getting on a bit but could be a useful acquisition on a free).

Re: Spurs 2022-3
Why are the Rugby League giving money to a London football club? It doesn't make sense. Back pockets bulging? If Wembley wasn't available, why choose Spurs. Wigan vs Huddersfield and two Manchester stadiums in between the two places. Fleecing the fans springs to mind.

Spurs 2022-3
Why not?
The final has traditionally been in London but Wembley wasn’t available this season and they’ve been giving money to United for hosting the Grand Final since 1998.

A pleasantly interesting piece joining the obvious dots of Conte, Perisic and why Levy may have changed.

Did he not have some legal troubles hanging over him, presume that’s all sorted? Otherwise could be a touch of the Deshaun Watsons about it…Bob Newhart wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 16:27Don't like Pi$$ouma from a FPL perspective, his liking for a card pi$$es me off... but as a real world signing, excellent for Spurs.

They are also strongly linked with Richarlison with a Moura and Winks going the other way.

Re: Spurs 2022-3
Keepers: another season for Lloris, Forster competent backup.
Defenders: I would like to see 1 first team starter in, to rotate with Dier, Romero, Davies. Move on a couple of squad players.
Wing backs: Need 2 starters / rotators
Midfield: Hojbjerg and Bentancur ok. Bissouma bought to rotate, replacing Winks? Skipp to stay as backup?
Midfield/forwards: Son , Kulusevski , Perisic a class signing , Richarlison or Raphinha in (not both). Moura and Bergwijn out?
"Striker": keep Harry , bring in a decent backup.

Perisic was playing wing back at Inter last season. Probably their player of the season.

Apparently Perisic can play WB, so the left side is sorted with Sess?

Re: Spurs 2022-3
Richarlison looks a done deal , Son or Kane replacement or complement ?
Does he play in the Son position ? Not an upgrade & surely he wont sign as a bench warmer ?
Not heard of Lenget & doubt Spence will leave Pineapple dance studio ?
Transfers not been too great for Spuds recently ; Janssen, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Lo Celso so must do better!

Steven Bergwijn replacement/upgrade plus Champions League football will mean more rotation of front three.SUZYKINS wrote:Richarlison looks a done deal , Son or Kane replacement or complement ?

Add to that the new five substitute allowance where all the top teams will want strength on the bench.

Re: Spurs 2022-3
From a fantasy football perspective I think there'll be a lot of grin and bear it next season with rotation/60th minute substitutions etc. Might be "minutes on the field" value in the decent teams not in Europe to be weighed up against the traditional big hitters.

Re: Spurs 2022-3
I think a lot of it’s been managers not getting the best out of them, as opposed to them being poor players… Ndombele was in high demand when they landed him, and Bergwijn and Lo Celso both showed flashes of what they could have been at the club. I’d expect Conte to get more out of the players they bring in but not really sure why Richarlison is what they need.SUZYKINS wrote: ↑30 Jun 2022, 07:08 Richarlison looks a done deal , Son or Kane replacement or complement ?

Does the above make the City Ground the Pineapple Dance Studio? I suppose Jason Lee used to play there

Hendo a good signing for you guys & Awoniyi could be a decent signing as he can stretch the game. Although I guess it lowers Brennan Johnsons appeal in fantasy terms ?

ffan will be along soon to tell us how good he is.
5m could be a temter, even if he doesn't play every week?

Does the new loan defender go straight into a back 3/5 ?
W/B (Perisic/Sess) W/B (Spence/Doherty/Moura)
B Davies Dier Romero
Conte used Davies the most last year so would assume he starts with Lenglet challenging

RWB seems the obvious spot, but apparently he can play Right CB too, if Conte wants the overplaying CB thang.
I don't think Conte rates Doherty or the Royal Emerson' and Moura doesn't play that deep?
