TFF chit chat 17th and 19th April

Post by morganb »

TUESDAY 17TH MAY

Southampton 19:45 Liverpool

Four midweek games but only one on Tuesday, kicking off at 7:45pm we have Southampton v Liverpool. Southampton are safe for this season but haven't done particularly well. No new Saints injuries. Liverpool won the FA Cup at the weekend but suffered injuries to Salah and VVD who join Fabinho in sick bay.

THURSDAY 19TH MAY

Everton 19:45 Crystal Palace

No Wednesday games but three Thursday matches, the early game sees Everton taking on Crystal Palace. The Toffees are still in relegation trouble and lost against Brentford on Sunday. DCL is back but they lost Branthwaite and Rondon to suspension. Palace drew against Villa at the weekend. No Olise for the Eagles.

Aston Villa 20:00 Burnley

Villa versus Burnley at 8pm. Villa drew against Palace at the weekend but are comfortably in mid table. No Hause or Konsa for Aston V. Burnley are still in relegation trouble but have a game in hand over Leeds. No Mee, Tarkowski, Vydra or Rodriguez.

Chelsea 20:00 Leicester

And finally, also at 8pm Chelsea v Leicester at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea lost in the FA Cup at the weekend and still haven't got a top 4 finish guaranteed. Christensen, Werner and Havertz all likely to miss the game. Leicester thrashed Watford and Vardy is back in the goals. No new injuries for the Foxes.

My best team on 2019 points :D contains Salah and Virgil along with Trent and Jota, Mount and 3 others
Second best team on 1999 points has both Trent and Virgil only, with James and Chalobah (with two Spurs and two City).

I spent my transfers a week or two ago as with the clocks changing checking the lineups all night became too much, so I can't cover any injuries :( .

Which is why this game with no emergencies and no auto sub like Fan Team won't suit players in SH.

However I have enjoyed no price changes and knowing the lineups for the majority of the season :) .

thanks very much for the previews morganb 👍.

Good luck everyone for the rest of this game week and the final game week.

Hoping to stay in top 10 trying to decide what to do with the last transfer Vvd to come out but for who up to £6m. So many options.

I'd be wary of Chelsea. Top 4 was secured last night so the pressure is off. Could be limited minutes for the likes of Rudiger and Christensen who are confirmed departures. Maybe he'll give some of the fringe players some time on the pitch?

Crikey Darbyand, you say that like you have transfers left with which to make such decisions 🧐🤣

It just reminded me that hh had posted about climbing into Chelsea for their last 2 games but I now think the likes of Sarr, Chalobah will get some extra time. They brought back Kennedy to cover Chilwell but have barely used him so he might get a game. Saul, RLC, Barkley all similar.

VVD > TAA for my last transfer I think. Trying to make sure I finish in the top 1000 with my single entry team and covering a popular pick that I don't have seems the best bet to me from the options I have available.

Yeah - got to go out straight after making the transfer - then my work for this season is done (unless TAA doesn't start, in which case I need to make a very quick decision!).

9 changes

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Tsimikas, Matip, Konate, Gomez, Milner, Jones, Elliott, Minamino, Firmino, Jota.
Subs: Kelleher, Robertson, Williams, Thiago, Keita, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaz, Origi.

Injured pair + Mane + TAA not even on bench.

No TAA in the squad and with Robertson on the bench, I will save my transfer for Thursday or Sunday (has to be a defender as I'm 343).

Depending on what Southampton team turns up this could be a difficult ask for that Liverpool team tonight. Stacks of quality but a significant amount of ring rust.

Staring at a big fat zero for tonight, unless Diaz pops on later (hopefully).

Yeah - I do have other options now and a couple of days to see what develops with VVD before Thursdays games.
Not too much damage from having no players playing tonight - dropped about 60 places.

Quite possibly.

The good news is however that some of them are indeed on the telly.

I don’t get one either and it’s not in spam. Changed my email a few years ago maybe that has something to do with it.
