GW32-38 - Chips (and gravy?)

Post by RomynPG »

What chips do you have left and how do you plan on using them?

I've got WC, FH & BB to go so 33FH, 36WC & 37BB looks the obvious route.

Just FH, which I had penned in for 36, but only apathy will stop me firing it this GW where I have 6 in the Lpool/Citeh clash 🥴

I have rocked in this in the past Inc a 0-0 with 5 ATB in the match , but 🤔🤔🤔🤔

FH and BB, currently BB in 36 (but means no Kane) the FH in 37 but doubt I will change much.

BB33 will allow a smoother transition to DGW36; then FH37 is my current plan. BB36 instead is still an option

I’ve got 1 FH, WC and BB.

I was planning FH33, WC35 then BB36 or 37, but I can get a pretty good team out for 33 without using the FH, so now considering WC35, BB36, FH37.

WC34 or 35, BB 36, FH 37

There used to be a Man City fanzine BITD called Chips 'n Gravy.

You can't play them - the 2 FHs - in consecutive weeks.

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/help/rules
The Free Hit chip can be used twice during the 2021/22 season, with the second Free Hit available to managers from Gameweek 20. Managers who haven't played their Free Hit ahead of Gameweek 20 will not lose their first, they will have two Free Hit chips available to them.

The Free Hit chip is played when confirming your transfers and can't be cancelled after confirmed. You can't play the Free Hit chip in consecutive Gameweeks.

Strange Rule, unless it's a coding issue?

I suspect coding is the key - to do with returning you squad to the previous week after your play a FH. The 2nd FH wasn't planned for.

Yep. It was easy to just set the flag/count to 2 for the extra one, but not change the code for that rare one off ...

I’ve been wondering if the 2nd FH will be retained for next season (along with the current usage rule), even though its introduction was a temporary “emergency relief”. It’s not often that an FPL player benefit is removed. Over time, the trend has generally been towards making the game easier, so I wouldn’t be very surprised to see it incorporated on a permanent basis.

Free hit (x1), Bench Boost and Triple Captain still to play.

Undecided when to play my TC. Not a lot of contenders for this dgw. Possibly Maddison this eeek or KDB whenever City get their DGW.

I'm in a similar boat. Is the FH37 likely to improve much on the squad coming out of BB36?

A guy in one of my mini leagues was caught out by this - finished up scoring 5 points in GW30 as a result. 😳

It makes it a bit tricky if you have 2 FHs left and don’t need/want to play one in GW33 though.

I am leaning towards FH36 FH38 at this stage.

I like this. If I had two FHs this is what I'd do, but it would have been a decision made a few weeks ago, so that I could adequately prep for GW33.

There is also a case for FH GW34 as well - load up on City at home to Watford. If Chelsea's GW37 fixture goes in there too, I'd definitely be doing that if I had two free hits.

Thank you for clarifying that. I did not think that such a stupid rule could exist. Now it will be much more difficult.

Is this a good time and place to discuss the early BB ie GW1 or 2?

The GW28 team (ie the squad from the week before the first FH).

At least he picked the right one of his two players to captain. 🤷‍♂️

Seriously, I was gutted for him - that’s a season destroyer.

Might be a "stupid" rule, but it's a rule regardless. As stupid as having to play a FWD in the fpl game? As stupid as not being able to BB in the week you WC? They are the rules we all abide by. It was pretty clear when they announced the 2nd FH.

Anyways, I am WC35 BB36 I think. Was initially intending WC34 but don't mind the team I have and is also closer to the BB week in a vain attempt to get a full 30 fixtures (or 29 or 28 if I keep some SGWers that double in 35 or 37)

I think you’re right. My wildcard should be enough for 36 and 37 so just played the free hit.

Also got the TC left plus a Free Hit.

What’s your plan?

I’m probably going for FH in GW36 and play the Triple Captain in GW38.

Suspect a DGW GW37 player will be a better option.

Also an option now with ManCity probably moving there. Although that could also mean to play the FH in 37 and subsequently the TC in 36 :?:
