Tough to make up ground, but I still believe the tortoises are coming :D

I've had triple Liverpool defence for ages and made up lots of ground from around 1k to 170.
Shame those in the top are doing the same.
Having watched the top 10 teams I think a lot of 3 Liv + 3 MC at the back. And if Matip is one of those then ...

52nd on weekly and Wolves defence yet to play this weekend. Looking good.

Itchy transfer finger today to take advantage some extra fixtures but am wary of FA Cup selections and international break looming...similar opportunities will be available after that too so the sensible option is to wait. Hmmmm.

4 active teams now:
High: 51
Low: 33
Best: 41

Similar thinking.

Gordon, Galkagher, Gabriel, White, Livramento, Chalobah ...

Of those, any thoughts?

Arsenal keep letting me down at the back. Got cheap Ramsdale but not adding to that.

Gallagher has been in my team ages. Solid.

Not sure re Chelsea defenders, got Rudiger in a few. Again may leave it at that although can afford Alonso (or Chala'?) in 1 or 2 but may keep my cheapies instead (eg Ramsay/Brentford/Dennis/Broja all of whom I could upgrade in certain teams)

Interesting that they add up to about £10 between them! I'm usually reluctant to waste too many transfers on cheap players on anything other than season long picks that double up as fund raisers for other moves. If that's what they are they all have their merits, particularly the defenders. Not sure I'd take any of them as an X for X.

Arsenal and Chelsea have bonus fixtures so could be season long.

10 teamsheets in. 'Interesting' bits:

Broja benched
Bamford starts
4 changes at Chelsea: Thiago Silva, Mateo Kovacic and Saul all drop to the bench while Cesar Azpilicueta isn't in the squad. In comes N'Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger, Hakim Ziyech and Malang Sarr. Alonso and Lukaku on bench
No DCL in squad
Kilman starts
Bowen injured (Rice back)
Villa unchanged

Think that's it.....

Hugely popular duo on light entertainment programmes in the 70s.

Oh, you said Mee.
Not sure that they were popular beyond him being blind and her being thought fit.

Popular with TV booking people. Didn't they originally win New Faces or something so were therefore moderately popular??

I was v.young and thought them dull.

Yes, 7 times which was a record then (thanks Wiki)

Peters seems a very unlucky sod (and was Charlie Watts' uncle!). Blinded in one eye in a car crash aged 5 then lost sight in the other eye at 16 after having a brick thrown at him. Died at 62 from cancer. Probably explains why he is still injury prone and got mentioned for being out yesterday.

Lee married some bloke from Wizzard (not a wizard) who wasn't Roy Wood and isn't Mee.

Sometimes when I write chit chat I phrase things in a certain way wondering if they'll get noticed. Pieters and Mee was one of these. I am really impressed by where this has taken us this week.

Hughie Green, another one with a very interesting biography on Wiki -

"It has been suggested that Green believed that Harold Wilson and his Labour government were communists and that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, should replace Wilson as leader of the country"

It has taken us to Moscow. Hughie Green once presented an edition of Double Your Money from there. The communist party wouldn't let them offer a cash prize so they gave away a TV!

Has the footie started yet?

I didn't realise he was so interesting 🤣😂🤣

I bet he loved Bob - if he lived long enough to meet him.

In a similar vein Leslie Crowther was 'im from Thin Lizzy's Father in Law - which prompts thoughts of mad ass drug sessions after the Sunday Roast 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Don't ask me, I had to look up who you (and Raoul) were referring to. I found out he plays for Everton so you'd be better off picking Jilted John (although he hasn't got 3 games this week).
