TFF chit chat 5th, 6th and 7th November

Post by morganb »

FRIDAY 5TH NOVEMBER

Southampton 20:00 Aston Villa

A Friday night fixture kicks off this weekend's set of matches. Southampton versus Aston Villa at St Mary's. 14th place Saints got their first away win of the season last weekend, Che Adams with the only goal. Aston Villa's poor run continued against West Ham when they recorded their fourth loss in a row. Ings will be missing this weekend and Konsa is suspended for this one.

SATURDAY 6TH NOVEMBER

Manchester United 12:30 Manchester City

The Saturday lunch time game is this weekend's big match - the Manchester derby. Ole is still at the wheel and United recorded a good win against Spurs last weekend followed up by a draw in the CL in midweek, Ronaldo on the scoresheet in both. Varane came off injured against Atalanta. Manchester City lost against Palace last Saturday but got back to winning way in the Champions League.

Brentford 15:00 Norwich City

Three 3pm matches, the first of which feature two of the newly promoted sides - Brentford v Norwich City. The Bees started well but come into this one off the back of three loses. Raya will be replaced by Fernandez in goal for the foreseeable. Norwich are rock bottom on two points but at least they scored a goal last weekend.

Chelsea 15:00 Burnley

The second of the 3 o'clock games is Chelsea against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea won in the CL on Tuesday and sit top of the League after four consecutive wins. Kovacic is out injured, as is Lukaku, Mount may be back though. Burnley won last weekend but are still in the bottom three. Cornet is looking cool but is this the right game to bring him in?

Crystal Palace 15:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers

The last of the 3pm games is Crystal Palace versus Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both teams are in quite good form. Palace are in 13th and beat Manchester City last time out with Zaha and Gallagher on the scoresheet. 7th place Wolves beat Everton on Monday, Jimenez with his second goal of the season. Marcal will be missing through injury.

Brighton & Hove Albion 17:30 Newcastle United

At 5:30pm, Brighton v Newcastle United at the Am Ex. The Seagulls are down to 8th as they've drawn too many recently but last weekend came back from two down against Liverpool. Newcastle have a new manager so may get a bounce as currently they are still 19th and haven't won a game all season. Callum Wilson is still good value.

SUNDAY 7TH NOVEMBER

Arsenal 14:00 Watford

Three games at 2pm this Sunday, the first of which is Arsenal against Watford at the Ethiad. The Gunners are up to 6th and Smith Rowe is on a good run of form at the moment. Tierney is likely to be missing through injury. The Hornets are in 16th and are quite hard to predict this season. No new injury worries for Watford.

Everton 14:00 Tottenham Hotspur

Next up, Everton versus Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison. The Toffees come into this game off the back of three loses, Calvert-Lewin is still missing and they face a Tottenham Hotspur side who are under new management. Conte is now in charge at The Lane and will be hoping to get off to a winning start in the League after the Conference wi in Thursday. Will Kane regain his previous season form?

Leeds United 14:00 Leicester City

The last of the 2 o'clock games features Leeds United and Leicester City. Leeds are 17th but have picked up 4 points from their last 2 matches. Rodrigo and Raphinha are in good form at the moment. Leicester are 11th and have collected 8 points from the last 15 available. Pereira could be back for this game.

West Ham United 16:30 Liverpool

And finally, another big game, this time between 4th place West Ham and Liverpool who lie in 2nd position. The two sides are separated by a couple of points so this should be a good match. Both sides were in midweek European action, recording a draw and a win respectively. Liverpool will be without Naby Keita and James Milner. The Hammers appear to be at full strength.

Tele stats:

Top 100 - 27.79 transfers used
Top 1,000 - 19.97
Top 10,000 - 12.16

Last week
Top 100 - 30.32 (+2.53)
Top 1,000 - 22.04 (+2.07)
Top 10,000 - "23.85" (probably should have been 13.85, +1.69)

This week's-
Top 100 - 31.38 (+1.06, 3.59/2wks))
Top 1,000 - 22.90 (+0.86, 2.93)
Top 10,000 - 15.07 (+1.22, 2.91)

murf average - just 8.6!
Basic 1 per game(week) tortoisetarget = 10
Gold Dust formula = 13.6 but should be used with caution as that is date based and so screwed by the modern introduction of international breaks - next one, next week!

Generally less used at the top over the last 7 days compared to the previous 7 but all still way ahead of the tortoise's steady pace.

Using Spreadex's season totals, the graph measures the average projected points of opponents that teams have played in their opening ten games and compares it to the average projected points of opponents for the rest of the season.

Perhaps time to stock up on Palace and Spurs players, but maybe not Norwich?

Gallagher has to be an oasis of value, you’d be a Bonehead not to pick him ;)

Had planned to remove Kane (yes, should have done it weeks ago) to get in a couple of decent defenders, but now wondering if Conte can get him blowing doors off again.

Hmm.

Only 12. Armstrong is down twice.

PS Wasn't Philogene Bidace one of the characters in Pride and Prejudice?

So good they named him twice? A bit like Lua Lua.

There are 2 Adams as well so we are safely back to 11.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes three changes to the side that started the 2-2 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday. Raphael Varane is out with a hamstring injury, Paul Pogba is suspended and Marcus Rashford drops to the bench. Victor Lindelof returns in defence while Fred and Mason Greenwood also start but there is no place among the substitutes for Edinson Cavani who has picked up an injury.

Man Utd XI: De Gea, Wan Bissaka, Bailly, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fernandes, McFred, Greenwood, Ronaldo.
Subs: Henderson, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, Dalot, Sancho, Telles, Matic, Van de Beek.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola also makes three changes to the side that began their 4-1 win over Club Bruges in the Champions League. Aymeric Laporte is suspended while Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez drop to the bench. Kevin de Bruyne, Ruben Dias and Gabriel Jesus all start in their place.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo, Silva, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Jesus, Foden.
Subs: Steffen, Carson, Ake, Sterling, Grealish Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Palmer

Havertz (James )

The for James is because I just bought him into 3 teams without cursing him.

The bigger is that I could work the above out from Paul Merson's description. It could of course be wrong, he was blabbering about Beckham being involved at on stage.

The way my season is going it will be a one match ban where I don't have him and a three match ban where I do.

Not seen it but serious foul play is 3. Was it denying a goalscoring opportunity? Is that just 1?

Fortunately it is just 1 team for me.

Either way, 1 or 3 games, Ramsdale is cheap but I've been burnt there so many times with Ben Shite just being the latest cheap and shockingly low scoring Arsenal defender.

Yes, 1 game for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

2 free games if you jump to a Sunday keeper....

3 from Liverpool or Arsenal if I'm reading the grid right.
