TFF chit chat 30th and 31st October and 1st November
SATURDAY 30TH OCTOBER
Leicester City 12:30 Arsenal
This set of fixtures kicks off at 12:30 with a game between Leicester and Arsenal. Both teams sit on 14 points and are in similar form coming into this game. Both teams won in the Carabao Cup in midweek, though Leicester were taken to penalties. Aubameyang and Vardy have been scoring well recently, as has Tielemens. Tierny and White possible doubts for the Gunners.
Burnley 15:00 Brentford
Five 3pm matches this weekend, the first of which features Burnley and Brentford. Burnley are still in the bottom three even though they gained a 2-2 draw against Southampton last weekend. Chris Wood is on a very poor run of form. Brentford have been putting in spirited performances which sees them sit 12th in the table. David Raya is out for 3-4 months with injury so there will be a new face between the sticks.
Liverpool 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion
Liverpool versus Brighton next. Both teams were in midweek cup action, Liverpool ran out comfortable winners against Preston whereas Brighton lost on penalties to Leicester. The Reds recorded a fantastic win against Man U last weekend with Salah in incredible form. Brighton lie in 5th though their form has been poor of late. Is Duffy permanently out of the team now?
Manchester City 15:00 Crystal Palace
Next up, Manchester City take on Crystal Palace at the Ethiad. City are third, a couple of points off of top. Phil Foden scored a brace last weekend so you'd hope his spot in the team is safe. Crystal Palace come into this one off of the back of four draws. Interesting to note that Christian Benteke has got two goals in his last two outings.
Newcastle United 15:00 Chelsea
At St James Park, Newcastle take on Chelsea. The Magpies are still manager-less at the moment but that didn't stop them picking up a point against Palace last time out. Callum Wilson has been in good form since his return from injury. Chelsea put seven past Norwich last weekend and were victorious in the cup in midweek so will be confident coming into this one. Still no Lukaku, but Chillwell makes up for it.
Watford 15:00 Southampton
The last of the 3pm games is Watford v Southampton at Vicarage Road. The Hornets are a couple of places above the Saints in the table after their win against Everton last weekend which arrested a two game losing streak. The Saints have started to rotate their strikers with both Armstrong and Adams out of the team in recent weeks but Broja is injured for this one.
Tottenham Hotspur 17:30 Manchester United
At 5:30 is the weekend's big game between Spurs and Manchester United. Tottenham have had and up and down season so far, they were beaten by West Ham last weekend after back-to-back wins. Kane still isn't back to his best. Manchester United have only recorded one win and one draw in their last five league games and the pressure is certainly on Ole at the moment.
SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER
Norwich City 14:00 Leeds United
Just the two games this Sunday, the first of which kicks off at 2pm and features Norwich against Leeds. The Canaries are still bottom on the league without a win to their name. Leeds are in 17th and themselves have only won once so far, but will be hoping for that to change today. As always there is an injury doubt over Raphina.
Aston Villa 16:30 West Ham United
Sunday's late game is Aston Villa against West Ham at Villa Park. Villa come into this game off of the back of three straight loses. Martinez may be missing for this one. West Ham are probably not the side you'd want to be up against, they've won their last two league games, beat holders Man City in the cup and are unbeaten in Europe. Antonio still in fine form.
MONDAY 1ST NOVEMBER
Wolverhampton Wanderers 20:00 Everton
And finally, the Monday night fixture is Wolves versus Everton. Wolves form has picked up recently after a poor start to the season. There's a doubt over Marcal's fitness. Everton are eighth and only have a single win to their name in their last five matches. Calvert Lewin is still out injured but Richarlison is back.

Weird that the Big 3 are all playing Saturday at 3pm.
TV must have decided that the final CL place is where it's at.

If you bring Doucoure in for one match and then replace with Kovacic your gold dust starts to wear off.

I think there could be some seriously big scoring on the cards with this set of fixtures

Re: TFF chit chat 30th and 31st October and 1st November
What’s everyone thinking about Man U players. I’ve got Bruno and Ronaldo but no City. I’m thinking I need to get rid of at least one but can’t decide who. I could do with getting Foden in for tomorrow but hate taking someone out before they play, but having two Man U players isn’t an option.

Re: TFF chit chat 30th and 31st October and 1st November
I’m getting away from Ron where I still have him. None of the other big guns (ignoring Salah) make huge appeal. Moving value into defence and balancing the team (accepting I can’t get back to holding 3 premiums again) is the plan for me.

Yeah I’m edging towards keeping Bruno. Their fixtures going forward are good after Chelsea and Arsenal and I reckon one is defo needed. Ronaldo’s chances in the box for 7m isn’t good enough.

Same here, me forcing Lukaku and Ronaldo in ruined my team and they did sweet fa. My starting xi just overtook me.
Anyway, time to revert so Ronaldo is out and Foden is in amongst other changes for me (Bissouma and bloody Tanganga!)

Yeah very annoying but seemed the way to go at the time and may pay off at some stage but doesn’t look too good right now. I’m contemplating a shift out to LFC defenders as being the most secure in starting berths.LenH wrote:Same here, me forcing Lukaku and Ronaldo in ruined my team and they did sweet fa. On transfers used @darbyand my feeling is around 8 used feels about right for the end of October. On a straight 4 per month that would be 12 which feels too high given the IBs.

Re: TFF chit chat 30th and 31st October and 1st November
Have bumped the Gold Dust thread (having adjusted the formula to 40 transfers)
So far you should have used -
Early season fixes - 2
Injuries - 3.9
Tinkers - 5
Total = 12.9
So anyone with over 27 left is over-embracing
Less than 27 and your are over-sprinting.
The tortoise employs an even pace.

Re: TFF chit chat 30th and 31st October and 1st November
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers makes one change to the side that started the 2-1 win over Brentford in their last Premier League match as Luke Thomas replaces the injured Ricardo Pereira.
Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Amartey, Evans, Soyuncu (and his umlauts), Thomas, Tielemans, Soumare, Castagne, Maddison, Iheanacho, Vardy
Subs: Ward, Bertrand, Barnes, Choudhury, Dewsbury-Hall, Vestergaard, Ndidi, Daka, Lookman
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sticks with the side that started their 3-1 victory over Aston Villa eight days ago. Martin Odegaard, who missed that EFL Cup win at Leeds on Tuesday, makes the bench.
Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, Tom Iyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares, Saka, Sambi Lokonga, Partey, Smith, Rowe, Lacazette, Aubameyang
Subs: Leno, Odegaard, Maitland, Niles, Holding, Soares, Pepe, Elneny, Kolasinac, Martin Elli

1-0 Gabriel (Saka)
Assuming Vardy touch is ignored
Anyone waste gold dust on a Leicester defender?
EDIT
2-0 Smith (Rowe, -)

Newcastle need to appoint a new manager. This interim clown has dropped my boy Willock 2 weeks in a row.
Elsewhere, pretty much all the top 3 defenders you might expect/hope to play, are playing.

Chelsea still unsoiled (although not much use if you have Azpilecueta, Chalaboah or Alonso - serves you right for hogging all the scrabble vowels)
Liverpool's should still be intact - came from an incorrectly awarded throw in (which can't be VAR checked).
