Hardly bizarre when it is a year away in an ever changing pandemic. I doubt anything that far off is mentioned specifically.

Mask is a brilliant film - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mask_(1985_film)
Shame about the awful Jim Carrey one with a similar name.

Re: CR7
Uncut Gems I turned off after 30m of shouting and little else, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind I haven't seen, The Truman Show to be fair is decent, Dumb & Dumber is awful and Ass Venturer is one of the worst movies I've ever fast forwarded through..From4corners wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 08:01Hey now. Re: CR7
I can see why you turned off Uncut Gems, it's not for everyone (it's like watching an anxiety trip, as some have stated). I thought it was terrific, and Adam Sandler was ace! Reign Over Me is another film in which he shows he can act, great film.Bob Newhart wrote: ↑04 Sep 2021, 07:53Uncut Gems I turned off after 30m of shouting and little else, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind I haven't seen, The Truman Show to be fair is decent, Dumb & Dumber is awful and Ass Venturer is one of the worst movies I've ever fast forwarded through..From4corners wrote: ↑03 Sep 2021, 08:01Hey now. Talking about ace, I was (of course) joking when throwing Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dumber in there yet I still enjoy(ed) them. Now I do recommend watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, it's one of my favourite films. Not your typical Jim Carrey performance, which is a good thing right.

Re: CR7
Ah, Ruud. I had such high hopes for you. Romelu gonna beat you up now.
I was reading some analysis from journalists in Italy that cover Juventus. They were all agreed that Ronaldo made Juventus a worse team overall, saying he dictates how the team plays, wants things set up so he is on the end of every move, expects to be treated as the undisputed main man and demands that other players adapt to suit him. Also he wants every penalty and every free kick. It's a bit like I wrote the other day, the bright candle under the bell jar that monopolises the oxygen and gradually extinguishes the others.
It's certainly interesting that Juventus' output did factually drop a little while Ronaldo was there. They were champions in Serie A the three years before he came, scoring 238 goals in total. In the three Ronaldo seasons they were 1st, 1st & 4th with 223 goals scored. Same in the CL, they were losing finalists and then reached the QF in the two pre-Ronaldo seasons but QF R16 R16 while he was there. None of this makes Ronaldo a less good option for FPL, obviously, his own output benefited from his single-mindedness (= selfishness) but it's going to be interesting to see whether CR7 helps United forward or impedes their development into fully-fledged title contenders.

Wasn't the inexperienced Pirlo the manager last year though, hence them bombing in the league! Also ditched Greenwood on the WC as he wont be playing CF anymore it seems.

Re: CR7
Effective ownership of 115% in the top 10k before he's even kicked a ball.
Wasn't one of the issues at Juventus that they were spending so much on wages for Ronaldo that they couldn't afford to strengthen when needed and so the side as a whole declined?
As someone who's captained him but dislikes Man Utd the bell jar theory is absolutely okay with me though.
