Claims to a Historical Figure that would support your team.

Post by jimmy ching »

Lets have a laugh.
I’d like to say if Henry the Eighth arrived today, I reckon he would admit to supporting Leeds. Here, I lay my evidence.

‘Henry lavishly rebuilt Leeds as a grand palace for his first queen, Catherine of Aragon. However, when that marriage turned ill, Henry retained possession of Leeds and used it as a stopover point on his many trips between London and the Continent.’

Convince me otherwise.
Counter claims please.
I have my suspicions the Hotspurs fans will claim Shakespeare.

If he arrived today and gave him a list of the clubs and asked him to choose one. Actually did he allow football?

Is Ozzy Osbourne a famous historical figure yet? If he is then he supports Aston Villa. If that's not good enough then all Roman emperors liked a nice villa so they may have given The Villa a thumbs up.

I reckon most people would accept Julius Caeser as an Aston Villa supporter. 1-0.

A quick Google reveals that to many historians, Theodore Roosevelt was a huge advocate for reading and he even wrote a 1916 memoir titled a Book-Lover's Holidays in the Open, in which he described his love of reading.

So, based on this information, Theodore Roosevelt would be a Reading supporter, rocking the blue and white hoops.

Bonny Prince Charlie is a Rams man. He has a statue complete with horse in the centre of the city.

With Queens Park Rangers I feel an embarrassment of riches - maybe Boudica rather than the more obvious Elizabeth I or somesuch.

Or Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear fame?

That could have been the revenge one after the Romans allegedly massacred her family and gang raped her?

She was queen of the Iceni (effectively Norfolk) who were sort of allies of the Romans but when her husband died they took her land and raped her daughters so she led an uprising. Think she took Colchester with the help of the local tribe there and went on to take more cities, including London, some with other British tribes.

So, for the purposes of this thread she is Delia Smith. "Oi Romans, Let's Be Avin Ya"
