Unfortunately the fixture gods are having a laugh and have put you up against your 5AS teammate ONZ, who is also doing pretty well.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2021-22 - Game Thread
Sorry all, it's taken me a bit longer to get back to this than I had hoped. Here's what happened in Round 8 as we head into the playoffs:
Match 1: MDF leapt out to a 7MP lead over FranckKessie and never looked back, extending it to 11MPs and finally finishing 16-3 (16-4). MDF finishes with the full house of 8 wins out of 8.
Match 2: This tie was pretty much decided in GW29 with Matty B taking an 8MP lead. Smurphy's Paw made a bit of a comeback with 5MPs in GW32, but Matty B took it 10-6 (12-8).
Match 3: An interesting tie with decent swings both ways, but it was GW30 which decided it with Stevieste taking a 14MP swing and beating dino1980 18-8 (15-5). dino just about hangs onto a top 16 spot to make the playoffs though.
Match4: A game of 2 halves with Jos taking 7MPs in GWs 29&30 and Blue Fire getting 5MPs in GWs 31&32. The final score of 7-5 (11-9) to Jos probably suits both as they both make the playoffs.
Top Scores:
GW29: wiseowl65 took125 points in an otherwise tight match against sdhough. There were many scores over 100 in this GW.
GW30: Top score here was blah with 83, which accounted for the bulk of his scoring in his win over ONZ.
GW31: primitive man was the clear top scorer in GW31 with 83 points which pretty much secured his win over Just A Kiwi.
GW32: 95 points from snakzz completed the win and secured a playoff spot for him at the expense of Isalla.
We had a few 20-0 Victories in Round 8 from slowfish, Red, White & Black, ajcairns, Malrom and Mo Bot.
All the results and tables are posted on the 1st page and repeated below.
The last 16 Matches will take place over GWs 33 & 34.
Good Luck in the remaining games everyone.

Fixtures
The top 16 after Round 8 make the playoffs. The rest play a 9th Round for the remaining bonus honour points, the usual couple of 'per match' honour points and general FISO bragging rights.
Fixtures for Round 9 are arranged according to Victory Points.
As we have a large number of entrants I have included Match Numbers to hopefully make it a bit easier to find your results, when they are published, if your match is in the middle of the pack.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2021-22 - Game Thread
We're at halftime in the Last 16 matches and there are a few upsets on the cards. In fact the lower ranked teams all have the edge (apart from blah) with a lead in their matches.
Many are still too close to call, but thelimey has a 5MP lead over the undefeated MDF, Blue Fire leads Fingerpass by 9MPs, FranckKessie has 10MPs over wiseowl65 and bossdrum leads DLIAH by 7MPs.
Remember, if scores are tied at the end of the match then we go to a penalty shoot-out.
The rest of the opening scores for Round 9 (which continues until GW36) are on the first page.Penalty Shoot Out
In the Penalty Shoot Out the 3 Forwards in each team, regardless of whether or not they were on the bench, are ranked from highest GW score to lowest and compared with their counterparts in the opponent's team. The highest scores a penalty and is awarded a 'Score' and the lowest a 'Miss'. If they are tied then both score.
This is then repeated for the 5 Midfielders in each team.
Finally the active GW Goalkeeper for each team are compared and the higher of the two will be awarded a 'Save' which converts one of the opponent's 'Score's to 'Saved'. In addition each fpl save bonus point which the Goalkeepers earned in the GW will result in another 'Save'.
The number of 'Score's remaining are then totaled up to determine the winner.
If scores are still level then the process is repeated for the 5 Defenders, but no further GK 'Saves' are awarded.
If scores are still level after all of the Penalties then the higher ranked team during the season's 8 rounds is declared the winner.
Good luck in what's left of GW34 everyone.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2021-22 - Quarter Finals
The Last 16 Matches are concluded.
MorrisonDullforce shows his #1 seed credentials by coming back from a half time deficit to win it 9-5 against thelimey.
blah got his favourite score, which was enough for a 6-3 win over SP.
In all of the other matches the underdog team either hang onto or increased their half-time leads, although it was a close run thing between Stevieste and dino in Match 3.
For the winners the Quarter Final Fixtures are out:
For the losers an extra point has been awarded to the Roll of Honour (see below). Thanks for playing another Swiss Cup Season.
For everyone else Round 9 continues and is updated on the first page.

Re: FISO SWISS CUP 2021-22 - Quarter Finals
Here's what happened in the Quarter Finals:
It was all one-way traffic for MDF in a 24-0 hammering of jacksosi.
dino1980 made a spirited attempt at a 2nd half fightback, but Jos held out 8-7.
blah took an early lead over bossdrum and added to it in the 2nd half half to finish 10-0.
It was a cagey 0-0 first half between franckKessie and Blue Fire, but the 2nd half sorted it out 7-0 in favour of Blue Fire.
The Semi-Finals:
The hot favourite MDF has an off week at the business end of the season and blah takes the spoils.
A closer contest with Blue Fire just getting the better of Jos.
Blah's in the final now you know.
Commiserations and thanks for playing to all those knocked out in the playoffs.
The rest of round 9 has been updated on the first page and all charts and tables repeated below.
Good luck to blah and Blue Fire in the final.
