A warm welcome to the second annual The Rounded Keeper locals league.
There are bragging rights up for grabs as well as the Honorary Title, ‘Landlord of The Rounded Keeper’, for the following season.
Inaugural winner and current Landlord, Danzku, will be doing his best to hang on to the title. Blah will out post us all and consider that a victory and - in a way - it will be.
As with all of The Rounded Keeper’s pub games we’re aiming for more of a Cheers-type local vibe, ‘where everybody knows your name’; than League of Gentlemen’s ‘local pub for local people’. Any FPL Player is welcome to spend some time in The Rounded Keeper, buy a few socially distanced drinks, get to know us all and be invited to join the League.
But if you pop in on a stag do, seduce Gretchen - or one of the CRDs - break their heart and don’t visit again we may have to introduce you to the door staff.
Details
- This is a free to enter FPL League run primarily for regular* contributors to The Rounded Keeper and FISO FPL pages.
- It is a private league and joining details will be shared by PM.
- New for this season
- all entrants will compete in a Rounded Keeper Cup in the second half of the season
- weekly stats, facts and figures, the detail of which will be unveiled once the season gets underway
- Entry will be promoted in The Rounded Keeper up to the start of the season. Newer regulars can still request joining details during the first few weeks of the season by posting here. Thereafter admission shouldn’t be assumed. The title, ‘Landlord’, should really go to someone who’s stayed for a few lock ins and knows how to manage the staff.
- Discussion, any bragging rights and drowning of sorrows will be in The Rounded Keeper. This thread is just for sign up and any other league admin
- Regular*: What regular means is open to interpretation. It’ll be less strict than the previous Members League requirement to post every month. More likely there’ll be an occasional post in The Rounded Keeper asking regulars if they know and have ever been bought a pint by entrants who haven’t or don’t contribute. For Season 2 these will be at the end of each transfer window and one or two other unspecified occasions through the season.
- If we need to formalise this by asking for, say, three others to support the league administrator to formally consider additions and exclusions, we will.
- It’d be a better outcome to get more people to join in discussion than create unnecessary exclusivity. But the main FISO League exists for all-comers and that might be a better home for people who don’t wish to join in.
- This League is being set up to amalgamate or enable the winding down of a number of historic leagues such as: Member’s League, Veteran’s League, CHIPS League.

- Can the League be improved? Probably. This was how we ran it for Season 1 and there were no complaints so the rules remain the same (apart from the addition of the Cup). Improvements and suggestions for future years will be made in The Rounded Keeper and we can implement for the following season.
- I’d rather avoid a situation where someone feels aggrieved for being removed. If it does happen PM me (Smurphy’s Paw) with a brief request to discuss. If the primary criteria for inclusion is regular contribution I am hoping this will not be an issue. But other matters such as breaking Forum rules could be a factor. Ultimately the administrator’s decision will be final. Depending on the issue(s) it will by then have been discussed with Mods and/or other regulars.
