Successful and unsuccessful nasal clearances? Would mucus leaving the nasal passage be sufficient to score points? Or must it hit the ground. Doesn’t feel right to me that mucus landing on the nose blowers own shirt should score points?

Treble for an opponent's kit/body, and double for team-mates? Quadruple for a Match Official?

Yeh, I like this. 10 points if they catch their manager with either nostril after being subbed before 60 mins.

Doesn’t feel like we are 3 days away from KO. I’m in a strange zone of being excited to be back and seriously underwhelmed by my teams.

I feel a bit weird about the start of this season and I'm putting it down to it all starting with one game on a Friday evening.

I feel the start of the season could be a but slow with some of the bigger value players either not starting or not performing at their best for the first few games. Maybe those not involved in Euros/Olympics/Copa America will be better options. Looking at defences noticed Brighton have a good run of fixtures early on until end of September ,and their defence was not too bad at end of last season, although now without Ben White, and Lamptey/ Burn also injured.

Opening PL fixture has been on a Friday, though, for three of last four seasons.

Interestingly (check that, ed), none of them provided a clean sheet:

09 August 2019 - Liverpool 4-1 Norwich
10 August 2018 - Man Utd 2-1 Leicester
11 August 2017 - Arsenal 4-3 Leicester

So, perhaps Ben's sheet won't be White after Arsenal play at Brentford this Friday?

I've skipped Friday players before and waited for saturday team news before entering but with scattered kick offs there is no good time to jump in this year (especially with most of my being in sidegames with early deadlines!)

Me too. I’m just treating it as a Friday night deadline for the weekend generally. Which, unless I’m losing it, is how it used to work years ago. I also seem to recall no transfers being allowed in the first weekend. Perhaps I should aim to replicate that too. Unless Augero starts

After how well you did last season, one thing I'm sure your teams will not be is underwhelming.

Looking forward to Friday too, and it's comforting to know so many things are returning to normal...the season's beginning in August, the crowds are back in the stadiums, Aguero's out for 10 weeks...feels just like the good old days!

And 5 3pm kick-offs, we’ll get a decent Soccer Saturday for the first time since lockdown! Well not quite the same without most of the old crew, and I’m presuming Jeff hasn’t called it a day like Jim White (Yellow Tie Day certainly won’t be the same…)

Really? I must have missed that.

Rumours he had a medical just today (/technically yesterday as it is passed midnight) and will be announced tomorrow (today!)

They announced the agreement a fortnight ago subject to terms/medical. He's been in visa limbo and Cheshire mansion quarantine since then. I think the corny video and photos bit is due today.

TFF canvassed price opinion at the time and I told them he should be 4.2-4.4 i.e. Shaw-Maguire territory. Let's see what they say...

Edit: just announced at 4.3m. I wish they always did as I tell them to...

Pricing

Post by SamD »

From TFF: Raphaël Varane will be priced at £4.3m when added.

Cost of Man Utd defenders who played Leeds today: H Maguire, £4.4m; A Wan-Bissaka, £4.4m; L Shaw, £4.2m; V Lindelöf, £4.1m.

Not enticing with Shaw (and AWB and Maguire?) appearing better value.

Anybody know enough about Varane to contradict me?

Like the (badly named) 'bench' view. Works on public teams as well as your own.

Hate the league tables putting your teams at the top, out of position.

Hopefully there will be enough complaints to ensure this will be removed before the new year when the Tenner Cup starts - and I start importing data!

I sort of get what they are trying to do by showing what you are doing at the top but to then just skip you out in the actual table is annoying and confusing - plus a nightmare for chairmen who have to do reports/spreadsheets.
