Very nice template dino - I'm using another wildcard this week so may go something similar to what you posted in terms of price points. I like how you've already prepared for the City/Chelsea fixture swings too when most others will be scrambling around taking hits in GWs 7+8.

6 teams out my 28 in top 1000. A further 7 in the money. Best of 184 on 327.1 points and 342nd, 710, 750, 750, 910th though I’ve already used WC in 4 of those 6😬 and only one player to play tomorrow.

Obviously very early days but just trying to stay within 20 points of top 10 if possible.

Anyone else doing the CL game?

Yeah I’ll play the CL game. Haven’t entered any teams yet but have read a few articles. Chris Tan’s piece on FFHub is really good, particularly the point about safety nets - which is something I haven’t encountered much given I only really play the season long ones.
That, and getting a squad in good shape for weeks 3 & 4 - when the fixtures duplicate H+A - is going to be key me thinks.

I'm in. 3 teams so far, with the prospect of one further. I think four is the max I can manage alongside 10 Prem teams.

Agree, too much compromise - particularly with a level of uncertainty around one of those.

They surely have to give Pogba a price rise this time - he's the 3rd highest scoring player in the game and is only 7 mil. I'm personally hoping for a +0.2 given the fact they previously overlooked him for a rise.

Got the 4 who went up +0.2.

Still no rise for Pogba so their algorithm appears to be a little flawed imo.

I think their algorithm takes into account the previous 2 weeks with the most recent having higher weighting. If so - then they should have just given Pogba the price rise in GW2 when they gave manual rises to other players, he did get 5 assists in the first 2 games after all. It does not reflect well on them to have the 3rd highest points scorer in the game still at his starting price when he was fairly cheap to begin with. It feels like the person responsible for price changes has dropped a clanger somewhere along the line, probably when overlooking Pogba for GW2 price rise.

I assume nobody else wildcarded this week judging by the silence?

This was a great week to do it with all of the +0.2 price rises 8-)

I considered a wild card in one or two but thought I would wait a while in the end.

Depends what your team looks like Shirley Block ?

Was a great week yes, nice budget increase for you, I do think there are many mid price mids that can do a job at the minute though for us, I’m in no rush to WC ATM 👍

Was no better than wildcarding in the previous week, I would know because I did some last week and one this week. The maximum of 20 rises per gameweek pretty much makes it the same every week so no real advantage for getting price rises anymore. The key is to reshuffle your team in the right week, for the fixture swings, which is all too much for me to take in and to be honest makes it all too complex. I think the sooner you get your team to how you want it, the better. The end of the day we all know who are the 90 minute men, the bargain 4.5 players, the ones that are gonna get us cleanies and the ones that are gonna get goals and assists. We just need that extra early season info on good enablers like Conor Gallagher, Gray e.t.c and we’re off on our way.

I wildcarded my bottom set of teams. Got a decent number of the risers. Looking at the result it makes really one player difference to the squad as a reasonable number of the risers would have been held by the majority anyhow.

As I put on twitter there are 30k teams within 100 points of the leader. If you finish within 100 points of the winner.... The last 2 years suggest you will be approx top 50. Maybe top 100/200 may be more more realistic given number of players and how leaderboard compresses outside top 20 or so

I have only 2 teams, one from GW1 and one late entry, and the late entry has caught the GW1 team. Both are inside the top 4000 so both in the money.

My GW1 team had too many issues so decided to WC this week, rather late in the day, but couldn't look at it earlier.

Going heavy on Wolves at the back for a while in a 442, but with all 13 outfield players selectable will be morphing the structure each week to suit.

Salah and Ronaldo for now.

Biggest thought provoker was bringing in Bamford, who is not exactly in form but has the chance to now explode. Fingers crossed he does.

Yes - Gray is in the form of his life and Benitez doesn't like Rodriguez from their time together at Real Madrid.

I didn't either.

Last season I was on the budget-increasing bandwagon, but I've taken a different strategy this season for various reasons and retained my Wildcards. With multiples of Antonio, Tanganga and Calvert-Lewin this wouldn't have been a bad week to use a Wildcard, but it was too late by the time I'd given it serious thought. Content to keep the status quo for now and re-assess after the next Inter break.

Based on the top group of teams, lots of pain this week - particularly with Arnold's absence. Great chance to narrow the gap.

if you picked Sarr that is shrewd, I thought I was shrewd picking Ricarlison now Calvert-Lewin's out and he'd be on pens, Richarlison not even in squad.

I did that exact change in one of my teams too - perhaps he's injured after that heavy change he received against Burnley.

It's Gray vs Townsend for top spot.

Didn’t expect the Villa result - great for the game though! Keeping it nice and tight in the leaderboard. And points from top spot would make you think your higher than you are even when below 10,000 th position in the leaderboard

Highest is 102nd with 390 points. Still got Mendy rudiger Varane Lukaku and duffy to play (1st sub for Torres). As biddles says though it’s so ridiculously tight at the moment so not that bothered yet with rank just as long as I’m not far behind top points wise.
