Did wonder during the knockout stage about your strategy. Mine was quite different - and lucky at times - but we both ended up with 31 goals to head the Golden Boot league. Thought that, as long-term leader, you’d pick an all-Italian or all-English XI for Final. Bruce was level with me in second place and others close up so I had to consider/guess their tactics too. In the end, Euro Exchange fielded Immobile and ten England players, including six going for clean sheets. Fwiw, final team is 'public' in superleague and overall top 50 leaderboard table.

Hi Sam, in answer to your questions, I didn't have much option in the final - had only two transfers left, and had a mix of 9 Italy and England players from the semis. I finished the semis with:
Donnarumma, Bonnuci (both unchanged from day 1), Walker, Stones, Holes (leftover from earlier round but only 3.0, allowing more expensive forwards); Sterling, Mount, Phillips (last two picked because almost certain starters in both games); Kane, Immobile, Dolberg. And 0.9 in the bank. Transferring out Holes and Dolberg left me 9.0 for two finalists. I hesitated between bringing in two defenders (e.g. Shaw and Maguire/Trippier) or what I finally went for, Chiesa (5.4) and Chiellini (3.6). My reasoning was that I couldn't outdo the big defensive blocks that I knew several others had (including Sam with his 6 England defenders!), and that if either side kept a clean sheet I was probably done anyway. So basically there was no point in going for two more defenders. I decided to stick with my strategy that had worked up to then - go for goals and assists. In fact, while England led 1-0, I dropped from 1st to sixth, but when Italy equalised (and it was Bonucci who scored) I shot back up to the top. And held on by 2-3 points. My luck in the semis and final was that there were no clean sheets (actually, I thought this was quite likely, as in the knock-out stages you have to throw all caution to the winds if you go behind).
If I did it again I think I would have gone for defenders such as Shaw and Maguire who were more likely to score attacking points than Stones or Walker, but I was always trying to save points to allow me always to bring in Ronaldo, KDB, Kane, Lukaku, etc etc without much problem. On reflection though, I probably wasted too many transfers on bringing in and out midfielders such as Perisic, Sorabia, Gnabry, Hazard, etc. I should have gone more for clean sheets in the group stages (when teams are often happy with a draw) and switched to rotating forwards in the knock-outs.
But a good learning experience (and exciting when I was 7th in the whole competition). And thanks again Sam.
