We now have a majority in the poll regarding the six teams advancing to the playoffs - it will be the three division champs and three wildcards.
Still no answer back from ESPN as to whether this is the default or not, so please be prepared for me to edit the playoff bracket if necessary. The two division champions will have a bye into the second round of the playoffs - and the first round of playoffs will be matches between the other divisional champ and the lowest ranked wildcard, and between the other two remaining wildcards (usual tie-breaking rules apply).

Yorkshire Dragons 97 @ 53 Forest Tigers
Crystal Tipps 82 @ 76 Barry Crockers
Cornish Tinners 86 @ 89 Chingford Gingers
Luck Skywalker 114 @ 92 Fulchester Fish

A few close games this week, none closer than X-Men v. Bruschi 54s which before last night needed the unlikely result of Aaron Jones scoring 35 points for an X-Men win - he got 34 :D
And a very good weekly score of 137 for Get It Right Next Time.
Two weeks in - and only two unbeaten teams - and two yet to get off the mark, including yours truly...

Forest Tigers 61 @ 73 Barry Crockers
Yorkshire Dragons 68 @ 70 Crystal Tipps
Chingford Gingers 99 @ 141 Fulchester Fish
Cornish Tinners 87 @ 73 Luck Skywalker

Barry Crockers and Crystal Tipps slightly fortunate winners this week - not great scores from either, but just a little better than their opponents.
Fulchester Fish get off the mark with a cracking weekly score - X-Men also breaking their duck, so no winless teams remaining.
Just one unbeaten team after three weeks - Get It Right Next Time leading the way.

That's the first three inter-division games done - the next 8 weeks will be playing against all the teams from the other 2 divisions.

WEEK 4 FIXTURES

Bruschi 54s 64 @ 85 Barry Crockers
Fulchester Fish 73 @ 100 Forest Tigers
Chingford Gingers 106 @ 86 Crystal Tipps

GIRNT continue their unbeaten season with a crushing win over Luck Skywalker.
And the first tie of the year - always more fun at the end of the season when it comes to working out tie-breaker scenarios!

WEEK 5 FIXTURES

Forest Tigers (2-2-0) @ Get It Right Next Time (4-0-0)
Luck Skywalker (2-2-0) @ Bookhouse Boys (2-2-0)

Anyone else play NFL fantasy on the ESPN platform? One member of this league has just clocked up 177 points this week (12-team, non-PPR, very close to standard scoring except slight tweaks to kicker points) - it's by some way the most I've ever seen, anyone remember a higher score? I got 151 this week, which I was pretty happy with...
For the record, his team was Justin Herbert, Derrick Henry, Kareem Hunt, Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, Robert Woods, Travis Kelce, Greg Zuerlein and Cowboys DST

WEEK 5 RESULTS

Forest Tigers 67 @ 177 Get It Right Next Time
Luck Skywalker 87 @ 83 Bookhouse Boys
Yorkshire Dragons 92 @ 151 Fulchester Fish
Crystal Tipps 79 @ 120 X-Men
Bruschi 54s 89 @ 96 Cornish Tinners
Barry Crockers 87 @ 94 Chingford Gingers

I was feeling quite pleased with myself - 151 is a great score, one of the best in the 15 years of this league - until Alan blew it out of the water with a quite frankly ridiculous 177 points  That is going to stand as a record for a very long time.
So three big/huge wins, and three close calls.
Get It Right Next time obviously the class of this league so far, the only unbeaten team remaining.

WEEK 6 FIXTURES

Get It Right Next Time (5-0-0) @ Barry Crockers (3-2-0)
Crystal Tipps (2-3-0) @ Luck Skywalker (3-2-0)
X-Men (2-2-1) @ Yorkshire Dragons (1-4-0)
Cornish Tinners (3-1-1) @ Forest Tigers (2-3-0)
Bookhouse Boys (2-3-0) @ Bookhouse Boys (3-2-0)

Sorry - a bit late this week

WEEK 6 RESULTS

Get It Right Next Time 117 @ 109 Barry Crockers
Crystal Tipps 67 @ 62 Luck Skywalker
X-Men 117 @ 96 Yorkshire Dragons
Cornish Tinners 82 @ 61 Forest Tigers
Bookhouse Boys 127 @ 95 Bookhouse Boys
Fulchester Fish 75 @ 98 Bruschi 54s

The all-conquering Get It Right Next Time were run close this week, but stay unbeaten.
The Fish clean forgot to play a kicker (it's been one of those weeks I'm afraid...), but no kicker could have clawed back the deficit.

Heavy bye-week coming up - could shake things up a bit...

WEEK 7 FIXTURES

Chingford Gingers (3-3-0) @ Get It Right Next Time (6-0-0)
Luck Skywalker (3-3-0) @ Barry Crockers (3-3-0)
Yorkshire Dragons (1-5-0) @ Cornish Tinners (4-1-1)
X-Men (3-2-1) @ Fulchester Fish (2-4-0)
Bookhouse Boys (3-3-0) @ Crystal Tipps (3-3-0)
Forest Tigers (2-4-0) @ Bruschi 54s (2-4-0)

WEEK 7 RESULTS

Chingford Gingers 100 @ 103 Get It Right Next Time
Luck Skywalker 69 @ 98 Barry Crockers
Yorkshire Dragons 102 @ 51 Cornish Tinners
X-Men 64 @ 105 Fulchester Fish
Bookhouse Boys 108 @ 109 Crystal Tipps
Forest Tigers 78 @ 109 Bruschi 54s

A lot tighter for the unbeaten GIRNT team this week, run very close by the GIngers - but not the tightest finish which was the 1-point nail-biter between Bookhouse Boys and Crystal Tipps. The other 4 games resulted in comfortable wins for Crockers, Dragons, Fish and the 54s.

Get It Right Next Time already with a 4 game lead in their division.

WEEK 8 FIXTURES

Fulchester Fish (3-4-0) @ Get It Right Next Time (7-0-0)
Luck Skywalker (3-4-0) @ Yorkshire Dragons (2-5-0)
Chingford Gingers (3-4-0) @ X-Men (3-3-1)
Cornish Tinners (4-2-1) @ Barry Crockers (4-3-0)
Bookhouse Boys (3-4-0) @ Forest Tigers (2-5-0)
Crystal Tipps (4-3-0) @ Bruschi 54s (3-4-0)

Your commissioner next in line to attempt to take down Get It Right Next Time....

WEEK 8 RESULTS

Fulchester Fish 121 @ 88 Get It Right Next Time
Luck Skywalker 80 @ 62 Yorkshire Dragons
Chingford Gingers 86 @ 55 X-Men
Cornish Tinners 89 @ 96 Barry Crockers
Bookhouse Boys 87 @ 57 Forest Tigers
Crystal Tipps 76 @ 100 Bruschi 54s

The last unbeaten record falls!
Generally a low-scoring week, only two teams hitting triple digits.
GIRNT still with a commanding lead in their division, a far different situation to the Brown Division, which is the epitome of tightness - half a game between all four teams.

WEEK 9 FIXTURES

Crystal Tipps (4-4-0) @ Get It Right Next Time (7-1-0)
Bruschi 54s (4-4-0) @ Luck Skywalker (4-4-0)
Chingford Gingers (4-4-0) @ Yorkshire Dragons (2-6-0)
Forest Tigers (2-6-0) @ X-Men (3-4-1)

WEEK 9 RESULTS

Crystal Tipps 59 @ 88 Get It Right Next Time
Bruschi 54s 83 @ 89 Luck Skywalker
Chingford Gingers 93 @ 93 Yorkshire Dragons
Forest Tigers 71 @ 53 X-Men
Cornish Tinners 75 @ 88 Bookhouse Boys
Barry Crockers 62 @ 76 Fulchester Fish

A weird old week in real-life NFL with a lot of unfancied teams winning - a by-product of this is an even lower-scoring week fantasy wise than last week, no team hitting 3 figures. A couple in the 90's though - just unfortunate for both that they were playing each other, giving us our 2nd tie of the year!
And still just half a game between all 4 teams in the Brown division.

WEEK 10 FIXTURES

Get It Right Next Time (8-1-0) @ Yorkshire Dragons (2-6-1)
Luck Skywalker (5-4-0) @ Forest Tigers (3-6-0)
Barry Crockers (5-4-0) @ X-Men (3-5-1)
Cornish Tinners (4-4-1) @ Crystal Tipps (4-5-0)
Bookhouse Boys (5-4-0) @ Fulchester Fish (5-4-0)

WEEK 10 RESULTS

Get It Right Next Time 103 @ 51 Yorkshire Dragons
Luck Skywalker 75 @ 84 Forest Tigers
Barry Crockers 59 @ 89 X-Men
Cornish Tinners 84 @ 54 Crystal Tipps
Bookhouse Boys 95 @ 69 Fulchester Fish
Bruschi 54s 77 @ 71 Chingford Gingers

A bit of a ho-hum week fantasy wise, can't really find too much of interest to note, other than GIRNT once again showing their class with the only score of 100+ and already confirming a place in the play-offs - and the Brown division widening up so that there is now one full game (!) between the four teams.

Last week of inter-divisional games this week before we close the regular season with three games against divisional rivals.

WEEK 11 FIXTURES

Get It RIght Next Time (9-1-0) @ Cornish Tinners (5-4-1)
X-Men (4-5-1) @ Luck Skywalker (5-5-0)
Yorkshire Dragons (2-7-1) @ Bruschi 54s (5-5-0)
Barry Crockers (5-5-0) @ Bookhouse Boys (6-4-0)

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Get It RIght Next Time 92 @ 159 Cornish Tinners
X-Men 71 @ 104 Luck Skywalker
Yorkshire Dragons 67 @ 127 Bruschi 54s
Barry Crockers 60 @ 88 Bookhouse Boys
Fulchester Fish 93 @ 84 Crystal Tipps
Forest Tigers 48 @ 87 Chingford Gingers

Cracking score from the Cornish Tinners this week, would have been a shoo-in for best score of the season in past years, but still some way behind Get It Right Next Time's mindblowing 177 score in week 5. A rare loss for GIRNT this week.

Brown division still ridiculously close - with only the three inter-divisional matchups left, this is obviously going to go all the way to week 14.

A couple of statistical oddities - bottom of the Payton division Yorkshire Dragons have scored more points than top of the Payton division Barry Crockers  (although none of the teams in this division are exactly covering themselves in glory, every team is sub .500)
and Jonathan Taylor outscored the Forest Tigers on his own (I feel your pain Philip, I had the same embarrassing thrashing in my NFL.com league)

Next week is the start of the home stretch - three games against your division rivals. A reminder (see earlier post #30) that there are 6 teams going through to the playoffs this year - it's not clear whether the default setting is the top 2 from each division, or the winners plus three wild cards. The poll result produced a clear majority for the latter, so be prepared for me to alter the playoff teams if necessary.

WEEK 12 FIXTURES

X-Men (4-6-1) @ Get It Right Next Time (9-2-0)
Bookhouse Boys (7-4-0) @ Bruschi 54s (6-5-0)
Crystal Tipps (4-7-0) @ Forest Tigers (4-7-0)
Yorkshire Dragons (2-8-1) @ Barry Crockers (5-6-0)

Cornish Tinners (6-4-1) @ Fulchester Fish (6-5-0)

WEEK 12 RESULTS

X-Men 77 @ 81 Get It Right Next Time
Bookhouse Boys 98 @ 122 Bruschi 54s
Crystal Tipps 90 @ 65 Forest Tigers
Yorkshire Dragons 70 @ 91 Barry Crockers
Luck Skywalker 79 @ 64 Chingford Gingers
Cornish Tinners 63 @ 82 Fulchester Fish

Just two weeks to go, and we have our first confirmed play-off team (Get It Right Next Time) and the first two teams eliminated from postseason (X-Men and Yorkshire Dragons).

Sanders Division: Get It Right Next Time lock up the division title, and the number 1 seed - Bookhouse Boys and Bruschi 54s battling for a playoff spot.
Payton Division: Barry Crockers in top spot at the moment, but it may be only the winners of this division qualifying. Crystal Tipps can still win this with a good finish, and even Forest Tigers aren't technically out of it, though they would need two wins, two Crockers losses, and a 150 point swing.
Brown Division: Still the tightest division, all 4 teams in with various degrees of probability to qualify for postseason.

WEEK 13 FIXTURES

Get It RIght Next Time (10-2-0) @ Bookhouse Boys (7-5-0)
Bruschi 54s (7-5-0) @ X-Men (4-7-1)
Forest Tigers (4-8-0) @ Yorkshire Dragons (2-9-1)
Barry Crockers (6-6-0) @ Crystal Tipps (5-7-0)
Chingford Gingers (5-6-1) @ Cornish Tinners (6-5-1)
Fulchester Fish (7-5-0) @ Luck Skywalker (7-5-0)

WEEK 13 RESULTS

Get It RIght Next Time 86 @ 116 Bookhouse Boys
Bruschi 54s 115 @ 46 X-Men
Forest Tigers 104 @ 104 Yorkshire Dragons
Barry Crockers 82 @ 59 Crystal Tipps
Chingford Gingers 110 @ 66 Cornish Tinners
Fulchester Fish 85 @ 93 Luck Skywalker

Into the final week of the season, and here's what's at stake.

Sanders Division:
Get It Right Next Time - qualified for postseason as division winners, and will be #1 seed so a bye next week
Bookhouse Boys - qualified for postseason as a wildcard
Bruschi 54s - qualified for postseason as a wildcard
X-Men - done for the year
(Here might be a good place to remind people that although the website may try and advance the winners and runners-up of the three divisions as the postseason teams, it was agreed that it would be the winners and three wild cards - so whichever of Bookhouse Boys and Bruschi 54s finish 2nd, the third will qualify as well as none of the teams in the other two divisions would be able to catch them.)
So that's 3 teams from this division that qualify.

Payton Division: (simple!)
Barry Crockers - qualified for postseason as division winners
Crystal Tipps, Forest Tigers and Yorkshire Dragons - that's it for this year

Brown Division:

Luck Skywalker - win, and they win the division (and would be seeded #2, so getting a bye in week 15) - lose, and they are a wildcard - so whichever way, they have qualified for postseason
Fulchester Fish - win, and they will also qualify, either as a wildcard, or if Luck Skywalker lose, as division champs (Fish hold the tiebreak with a massively superior "points for" total. Lose, and they can be overtaken by...
Chingford Gingers - a win over the Fish in their last game would probably get them the last wildcard spot.
Cornish Tinners - just still alive, but need the Gingers to beat the Fish, themselves to beat Luck Skywalker, and in the process score 55 more points than Gingers.

WEEK 14 FIXTURES

Bruschi 54s (8-5-0) @ Get It Right Next Time (10-3-0)
X-Men (4-8-1) @ Bookhouse Boys (8-5-0)
Barry Crockers (7-6-0) @ Forest Tigers (4-8-1)
Crystal Tipps (5-8-0) @ Yorkshire Dragons (2-9-2)
Fulchester Fish (7-6-0) @ Chingford Gingers (6-6-1)
Luck Skywalker (8-5-0) @ Cornish Tinners (6-6-1)

WEEK 14 RESULTS

Bruschi 54s 135 @ 105 Get It Right Next Time
X-Men 89 @ 102 Bookhouse Boys
Barry Crockers 130 @ 74 Forest Tigers
Crystal Tipps 98 @ 84 Yorkshire Dragons
Fulchester Fish 130 @ 94 Chingford Gingers
Luck Skywalker 74 @ 68 Cornish Tinners

So the regular season ends, and we have our 6 playoff teams. Fulchester Fish's win ensured that they claimed the final postseason spot. A two game gap between 6th and 7th as well, so no hard luck stories.
Luck Skywalker's win propelled them into the #2 spot, and a bye next week - fortunate timing considering Lamar Jackson might not be available.

No need to edit the playoff bracket, ESPN has automatically selected the three division winners and three wildcards as I had hoped.
So, Get It Right Next Time and Luck Skywalker will have week 15 off and rivalry will be renewed between Sanders Division teams Bookhouse Boys and Bruschi 54s. (Not that it has any bearing on it, but they've split the two games 1-1 so far).

To the 6 teams fighting out the consolation bracket, my usual reminder that even at this late stage, wins are worth going for as they will improve your draft position for next year.

WEEK 15 FIXTURES

Championship bracket:

Get It Right Next Time - on bye
Bruschi 54s @ Bookhouse Boys
Fulchester Fish @ Barry Crockers
Luck Skywalker - on bye

Consolation bracket:

Yorkshire Dragons @ Forest Tigers

Monday afternoon playoff update.

A shocking day for 3 of the 4 1st round play off teams - Fulchester Fish need a solitary point from David Njoku to scrape home against Barry Crockers, while the other game looks done and dusted in favour of the Bookhouse Boys, the only team to put on a decent showing.

Edit: though by the time the Cleveland game starts, Njoku might not be on my team

WEEK 15 RESULTS

Championship bracket:
Get It Right Next Time - on bye
Bruschi 54s 44 @ 104 Bookhouse Boys
Fulchester Fish 50 @ 48 Barry Crockers
Luck Skywalker - on bye

Consolation bracket:
Cornish Tinners 65 @ 78 Chingford Gingers
X-Men 98 @ 69 Crystal Tipps
Yorkshire Dragons 67 @ 84 Forest Tigers

Fulchester Fish got the required 1 point from Njoku (who I decided to stay with) - he even added another whole 1 point to cement the victory
Bookhouse Boys cruised to a win in their 1st round game - not a great showing from three of our four first round playoff teams.

Note: as the lowest seed remaining, after my crushing (?) victory, I was expecting to be drawn against the #1 seed Get It Right Next Time, but that's not how ESPN sees it. I know it's not particularly important in the general scheme of things, but I would like the concept of lowest seed playing highest remaining seed to mirror that of the NFL. So I've set up a poll on the site to see if anyone has any views on whether to edit the bracket, or just leave it as it is.

WEEK 16 RESULTS

Championship bracket:

Fulchester Fish 136 @ 77 Get It Right Next Time
Bookhouse Boys 87 @ 61 Luck Skywalker

Consolation ladder:
Bruschi 54s 90 @ 103 Barry Crockers
X-Men 77 @ 113 Chingford Gingers
Forest Tigers 153 @ 56 Cornish Tinners
Yorkshire Dragons 71 @ 67 Crystal Tipps

Bye-weeks turned out not to be the benefit they might have been - both the #1 and #2 seeds fall to lower ranked teams, with the Fish putting up a fine total. (Not as good as the Forest Tigers, a great week for them).

WEEK 17 FIXTURES

Championship game:
Fulchester Fish v. Bookhouse Boys

3rd/4th place playoff
Get It Right Next Time v. Luck Skywalker

Consolation ladder:
Bruschi 54s @ Barry Crockers
Forest Tigers @ Chingford Gingers
Yorkshire Dragons @ X-Men
Crystal Tipps @ Cornish Tinners

(The 54s/Crockers game will determine the #1 draft pick for next year).

So at about midnight last night, I finally realised that Mattinson wasn't the lead RB for the Vikings this week, and made a hasty substitution for Valdez Scantling. MVS put up a zero - Mattinson's solitary point would have made all the difference between losing and winning! Match tied at 113-113, so as I read it, the title goes to the higher seed - congrats Bookhouse Boys :D :D
(We won't mention the boneheaded decision to leave Chase on the bench...)

I got real lucky to win that one! Pretty crazy to finish on the same points. I feel your pain about Chase, I didn’t play him on any of my DraftKings lineups this week so obviously got wiped out!

SEASON REVIEW.

1st Bookhouse Boys: A season of two halves for Bookhouse Boys - the turning point being week 8. Up to then, a sub .500 record (3-4), but then won 6 of the last 7 regular season games to claim a wild card place with a 9-5 record, and turned that into a championship win for their second title in a row. Well played Phil!

2nd Fulchester Fish: Off to a rough start, 2-4 after 6 weeks, but pulled together enough wins by the end of the year to claim the final wild card and very nearly went all the way, losing to the Boys in the championship game on the lower seeding tiebreak, scores having finished level at 113-113. 3rd last year, 2nd this - here's hoping the progression continues!

3rd Get It Right Next Time: The class of the league through the regular season, opening with a 7 game win streak, and hitting week 10 with a 9-1 record, but after closing the year with two inconsequential losses (still a good enough performance to earn the #1 seed and a 1st round playoff bye), unfortunately chose the knockout round to put up their lowest score of the campaign against the Fish. Still scored over 100 points more than the next highest scoring team, including the season high score of 177 in week 5, so a pretty good season all round.

4th Luck Skywalker
: Very similar progression through the year to the Bookhouse Boys - also 3-4 after week 7, and then winning 6 of the last 7 to finish at 9-5. Unlike the Boys, 9-5 was enough to top the division and get a bye in the 1st round of the playoffs - but put up a very disappointing total in the 2nd round to lose to the eventual champs.

5th Barry Crockers: 5th for the third season running! (And thus #1 draft pick for the third consecutive time). Crockers found themselves in what turned out to be the weakest division - even so, 5-6 after 11 weeks wasn't looking great, but they finished with three wins on the bounce. Put in a fractionally more horrible score in the 1st round playoff than the Fish (the two teams combined score not even hitting three figures  ), but two wins in the last two consolation ladder games pushed them to the best of the rest.

6th Bruschi 54s: ... and 6th again, in a deja vu moment losing the battle for the #1 draft spot to the Crockers for the second year running. In what seems to be a bit of theme this season, a slow start (1-4), then only losing one more regular season game (and that quite a narrow loss) to close at 9-5, good enough for a wild card position behind division champs Get It Right Next Time. Then a really low score in round 1 of the playoffs saw a quick post-season exit, and two more losses pushed them down the final table a bit.

7th Forest Tigers: 2-6 after 8 weeks, hopes very slim from that point on. 2 wins in the next 2 games kept them slightly interested, but that was it in terms of success for the rest of the year, finishing with a disappointing 4-9-1 record. However, a very good run of wins in the consolation ladder games shot them up the final table, much improving their draft position for next year.

8th Chingford Gingers: last year's runners-up suffered a down year this time around, always there or thereabouts in what turned out to be the tightest division in the league, but never quite getting into the playoff picture, and finishing with a 6-7-1 record. A loss to Forest Tigers in the final ladder game dropped them a place in the final table as well.

9th X-Men: if there are teams that start badly and finish well, there are probably teams who do the opposite - and X-Men were one of these. Standing at 3-2-1 after 6 weeks (although they were in the hardest division), the X-Men could only manage one more win for the rest of the year to end with a 4-9-1 record, well behind the three other teams in the Sanders Division. A couple of wins in the ladder games moved them up a place or two on the overall table.

10th Yorkshire Dragons: sadly was a bit of a struggle all year, only collecting 2 wins (and 2 ties) on the season. Managed to lift themselves off the bottom of the table with a narrow win in one of the ladder games, but overall a season to forget.

11th Crystal Tipps: even at a mundane 5-7 record with two weeks to go, the Tipps were still in with a shout of post season play, but a week 13 loss ended that slight hope. Then losses in the first two ladder games shot them down the overall table.

12th Cornish Tinners: 4-2 after 6 weeks in the Brown Division, and loooking good - even after week 11, a 6-5 record was easily enough to keep them in the hunt for the title, but that was it for the year, closing out with three regular season losses, and three ladder game losses, to sink to the bottom of the table.

So, final table:
Champions - Bookhouse Boys
Runners-up - Fulchester Fish
3rd - Get It Right Next Time
4th - Luck Skywalker

5th - Barry Crockers
6th - Bruschi 54s
7th - Forest Tigers
8th - Chingford Gingers
9th - X-Men
10th - Yorkshire Dragons
11th - Crystal Tipps
12th - Cornish Tinners

High score of the season - 177 (Get It Right Next Time - Week 5)
Low score of the season - 44 (Bruschi 54s - Playoffs Week 1)
(Low score of the regular season - 46 (X-Men - Week 13))

Draft order for next year
#1 - Barry Crockers
#2 - Bruschi 54s
#3 - Forest Tigers
#4 - Chingford Gingers
#5 - X-Men
#6 - Yorkshire Dragons
#7 - Crystal Tipps
#8 - Cornish Tinners
#9 - Luck Skywalker
#10 - Get It Right Next Time
#11 - Fulchester Fish
#12 - Bookhouse Boys

Once again, thank you all for a great year and hope to see you back for season 16 :D
