£1m Euro 2020 Game (in June 2021)

Not a great round for me. Still in profit but most of my teams dropped.
Luckily, I’m doing far better in the Fan Team Euros prediction game, which I’m currently leading (£1k ftw). With the way the game works - pre-tournament bonus questions being worth a few points - i don’t think I’ll hold for the win but will have a decent amount to plough back into the season long PL game.

Debut FanTeam tournament but my best team is a disappointing 3296th considering I entered 29 teams. Not great but am on
course to break even. More success with the monsters which I’m really enjoying.

Going to do a max of 10 teams for the prem game. Anymore becomes a chore rather than enjoyment for me personally.

As much as I’m loving the popularity of the fanteam tournaments getting stronger I’m not sure about all the extra seasoned pro’s getting involved now noticed Byro has entered this euros comp too so guessing he’ll get involved with the prem game also. No really I’m joking it’ll be great and it will give me extra motivation and a lot more teams to check throughout the season to see how all you other FISO lot are getting on. It’ll only be a matter of time before one of us win the prem game I think….

Surprised at the movement yesterday. Ate a -12 in my top 3 teams but still climbed significantly. Potentially having to take hits helped, as the ownership of Kane/Sterling suggests that either many managers couldn't afford them, or they were in a better position with their starting XI and locked into other players.

Advantage decreases heading into the semi finals, but further hits will be none (or -4 at worst). Currently, 5/9 teams are being paid and a top 250 could be realistic.

It's all on Italy/England now.

Best of 3 now in 336th which climbed from about 1800th with a - 4.
Budget possibly more of an issue than having to take hits at this stage.

Really bitten me in the arse that I accidentally moved all 3 teams to 3s 3i 4d 2e for the QF : budget is a big issue now doing anything.
If, as planned I had 1 team a 4s 4i 4d moving that to 4s 4i 7d to cover a Danish + final I'd have no budget issue.
Similarly the 4i 4d 4e moving to a 7i 4d 4e to cover an Italian + final , no budget issue.

The big problem is caused by Spain England

I never thought I would gain so many places just by sticking with England/Italy so even though I have them in my new top team and a couple more I think that a Spain result would really shake it up.

Thank god Italy are through!! Just need England through and should make a tidy profit ready to invest in The prem game. Going for double the entries this year don’t think 5 was enough for me personally last season. I love it when there is either a world cup or euros just before the new season begins

One of my teams has just climbed about 1000 places - and the others have all climbed a few places, I have no problem with that at all.
Can't immediately see what has changed with scores though.

Entered 3 teams for a £90 profit so pretty happy with that.
Also finished 26th in the free dreamsport equivalent which I think is €50.
Only entered 1 team in the premiership game last year so will probably do 5 this year.

Its a bit of a fizz out not being able to change players for the final. I switched off at the qtr final stage to be honest. Finished best place 3700, other 3 out if the money, not great but a learning curve. Have to see how many i go for on tbe fpl game now, think ill keep it to a handful of very similar teams

29 teams, 18 of which paid out best team in 2970th on 380.9 points and in the end I won £65 in profit. Lost £280 overall in the monsters though so I’m going to give them a miss from now on. Was breaking even on them but went a bit mad on England Italy and didn’t have shaw and Bonucci in same team shame coz I really enjoyed the monsters but I can see how addictive it can be and how it’s easy to do “just one more team”. Or maybe I’ll play them but limit myself to 2 per weekend or something.

Just cashed in trouble free though so absolutely no issues there Left enough in account for 10 premier league teams.

I love FanTeam though and it’s Definitely something I’ve enjoyed during the Euro’s

At the final whistle at the end of the 90 minutes, I was ranked 10th for around £330.

Then they do some kind of additional scores and im down to 34th !

Ive still not idea what they did and how can the points alter after the final whistle ?

Anyone shed some light into this ?

I also bugg / ered this up somewhat, Once i heard Trippier was starting, I really should have added him in instead of the Italian keeper.

I don’t think trippier was an option. I was entering teams half hour before kick off and I don’t remember seeing his name to pick.

As for late point adjustments, was that due to the bonus points behind added/taken away eg if you had big hitters Kane/immobile then -3 points or whatever

Mad, think you need a decent bank roll to have any chance of making any decent profit in the monsters or any of the games to be fair.
You can't compete with the mutis in these short formats unless you get really lucky.

dreamsport are run by scout gaming, who run fanteam, pretty sure they're safe, I entered into that as well but actually forgot about it

player listings - if you don't see a a player listed you probably need to change the 'available' tab to 'any status'

true with the mnonster, the multis dominate, don't begrudge them at all though, they risk their own dough, Sandor I think entered 100 teams into the Euro's and lost nearly 2 grand, my best effort for the monster I think was 82nd from around 3500,

Top team finished 1003rd on 398pts. 5/9 teams placed for about £100 profit with discounted entry taken into account. Also picked up 4 tickets in the satellites, a treble money return on the free £15 sportsbook bet re: Italy v Spain draw, and also a small profit on the free £9 sportsbook bet yesterday - it's basically paid for a 10 team entry into the Prem game at any rate.

Kept an eye on a few of the regular players; seemed most of us finished around the same area.

Here's the thing with late entries.

I highlighted a couple of advantages that late entries would probably have.
1. 2 attractive looking strikers for the 1st group games that I wouldn't want for Game 2 & 3. Lewandowski & Ronaldo. Well bigger me if they didn't both score 3 goals over the next 2 games. So early entries that were stuck with them, having to firefight elsewhere got a very nice brucie bonus.

2. English defenders. I expected to go big on English defenders with late entries. I thought there were far better picks than English defenders for Round 1, Given a) Maguire situation b) uncertainty over fullbacks & c)the fixture. However the 2 soundest picks Stones & Pickford then clocked up 3 clean sheets. By the time round 2 came around I was mistakenly convinced, as were I'm sure many others, that there would be rotation before round 3.

3. France. I Expected a big advantage for late entries, avoiding Germany in round 1, and lumping big for Hungary & Portugal. Well that went down the toilet with a clean sheet in round1, followed by 2 score draws. The only Frenchman to fare well over 2&3 was Benzema who looked like an obvious use of the 1 transfer anyway.

4. I expected some surprise bargains to emerge from the first set of fixtures. Without thinking too deeply, most of these then got crocked, rotated, failed to deliver much over the next 2 games. Spinazzola, Poulsen, Schick. The only 1 I can think of that did deliver was Dumfries, and even then picking Dutch defenders on the evidence of the first games was brave, and with a sensible manager he wouldn't have played game 3 anyway.

So yes, this time late entries probably didn't fare as well as I expected, I still believe that it was the right strategy. If the world cup is on a late entry 100% average basis, I will be going big on that.

Similar here, only I lost a fiver
