TFF chit chat 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd February
FRIDAY 19TH FEBRUARY
Wolverhampton Wanderers 20:00 Leeds United
A Friday night fixture kicks off this set of 11 matches. It is Wolves versus Leeds U at Molineux. Wolves form has recovered recently, they have collected 7 points from a possible 9 and played well in the 2nd half against Southampton. Jimenez has reportedly been training individually and doing outdoor work. Leeds are 11th and a couple of points above their opponents. Worth noting that Leeds have an extra game on Tuesday night.
SATURDAY 20TH FEBRUARY
Southampton 12:30 Chelsea
Saturday’s early game kicks off at 12:30 and features Southampton against Chelsea. The Saints last won in the League on 4th January, though it was against Liverpool. Ings finally scored last time out and it was a game of two halves against Wolves. Mr Tickle has really improved the form of Chelsea, four games undefeated in the Prem. Giroud came on to replace an injured Abraham last time out.
Burnley 15:00 West Bromwich Albion
The sole 3pm fixture is Burnley v West Brom at the Happy Place. Burnley recorded an impressive 3-0 victory against Palace last Saturday followed by a 1-1 draw in midweek. Gudmundsson is out injured but Wood may be back. West Brom drew against Manchester United last weekend, Diagne with the early goal. WBA are still in the bottom three though.
Liverpool 17:30 Everton
The Merseyside derby is at 5:30pm. Liverpool are 6th and come into this game after three successive League defeats (they won in the Champions League in midweek though). Salah looks good mind. Everton are in poor form, most recently they lost against Man City on Wednesday. Ancelotti is hopeful that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be back for this game.
Fulham 20:00 Sheffield United
Saturday’s late game takes place at Craven Cottage and is a foot of the table clash between 18th place Fulham and Sheffield United who lie is 20th. Fulham are still the draw specialists, recording 3 draws from their last 5 matches. Sheff U have WBA in their sights after being bottom of the table for so long. Doubt you have many players involved in this one.
SUNDAY 21ST FEBRUARY
West Ham United 12:00 Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday kicks off at 12 noon with a London derby featuring West Ham who are in nosebleed territory, and Tottenham who are in free fall. The Hammers are up to 5th and in good form though have been without Antonio for the last couple of matches. Spurs have lost their last three League games but won comfortably in the Europa League on Thursday which will be a much need morale boost.
Aston Villa 14:05 Leicester City
At 14:05 it is Aston Villa against Leicester City at Villa Park. Villa are a comfortably upper mid-table team this season, they don’t score many goals though. Leicester are in good form and appear to have cemented their position in the top 3. Vardy is Leicester’s top scorer but Harvey Barnes and James Maddison are just behind him in the scoring charts.
Arsenal 16:30 Manchester City
Arsenal v Man City is next up at 4:30pm. Aubameyang returned to the Arsenal side last weekend and promptly smashed in a hat-trick. The Gunners were in midweek Europa League action on Thursday and recorded a draw. Top of the table Manchester City played and beat Everton on Wednesday. Gundogan was absent with a groin strain for that one.
Manchester United 19:00 Newcastle United
A tale of two Uniteds at 7pm. Manchester U v Newcastle U at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes scored a brace for the Red Devils in the Europa League on Thursday and has been United’s standout player this season. Cavani missing due to injury. Newcastle’s league form goes LWLWL so a W could be on the cards tonight (but I doubt it). No Wilson for the Magpies.
MONDAY 22ND FEBRUARY
Brighton & Hove Albion 20:00 Crystal Palace
The Monday night fixture is some kind of A23/M23 derby rivalry clash between two teams in the lower half of the table. Seagulls v Eagles. Brighton haven’t lost for at least 5 games though there were several draws in that run of results. Crystal Palace are on a poor run of form but are still 3 points ahead of their opponents. Still no Zaha for the Palace.
TUESDAY 23RD FEBRUARY
Leeds United 18:00 Southampton
Just tacking this straggler on the end of the weekend matches. Leeds played Wolves on Friday and won/lost/drew. Southampton were Saturday’s early game, and they won/lost/drew against Chelsea. Someone you might have/nobody you are likely to have was injured, and there were the grand total of <insert number here> sendings off. Both teams are somewhere in mid-table.

Probably only of interest to whichever poor sod has Sheff U in the FISO Block League....
Injury blow for Sheffield United. Chris Wilder has confirmed defender John Egan will be out for two months with a dislocated toe suffered in Monday's defeat at West Ham.

Re: TFF chit chat 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd February
So who bought KWP? Who didn't buy James?
Southampton make two changes to the side that lost to Wolves last week.
Mohammed Salisu and Moussa Djenepo come in with Kyle Walker-Peters and Stuart Armstrong dropping out.
Midfielder Oriol Romeu plays his 200th game in the competition against his old club.
Saints XI: McCarthy, Salisu, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Djenepo, Bertrang, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Minamino, Ings, Redmond.
Chelsea make four changes to the starting XI that beat Newcastle 2-0 on Monday.
Edouard Mendy returns in goal, with Reece James, Kurt Zouma and N'Golo Kante also coming in.
Kepa Arrizabalaga, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Andreas Christensen and Jorginho make way.
Striker Tammy Abraham recovers from an ankle injury which forced him off in the first half against the Magpies.
Chelsea XI: Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger, Alonso, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Werner, Abraham.
