Rules:
You are posting predictions for game winner, points difference and total tries scored in that game.
Each prediction will be posted like this:NZ v Tonga, NZ, 56, 10 (NZ wins by 56 points with 10 tries)
Scoring:
Picking the winning team (or a draw) gets you 10 points.
You will 'score' the difference between the actual points difference and your opponent's guess.
For example: If NZ win by 54 points and you guess 65, your opponent will 'score' 11 points.
You will score 5 points for every try closer than your opponent is, to the total tries in the game.
For example: If there are 8 tries in the game, and you predict 6 and your opponent predicts 4, you are 2 tries closer. This equals 10 points.
Each tie will be decided by the accumulated totals over the 8 games (Group Stage).
Example, the NZ v Tonga game, could be NZ, 60, 9 (NZ by 60 points with 9 tries in that game).
The way I see this working is:
Richt goes NZ, 60, 10 > Alchemist goes NZ, 61, 11
Winning team gives both players 10 points
Final score of 59 - 5 gives Richt 7 points and Alchemist 6
Try total of 9 tries gives Richt 5 points
Our score for game would be Richt 22 Alchemist 16
Once all 8 games are complete we will have 8 scores to add up and average out to find us a winner.
Format:
You will each be placed in groups of 5 which will mirror the actual Groups in the RWC, and will play game against each player in your group, head to head in a round robin style.
There are 40 games in the Group Stage.
These will be split into 5 sets of 8 games for prediction purposes.
Therefore, you will only be predicting a maximum of 32 games from the 40 in the group stage.
You will be asked to predict first in two of the sets of 8 games, and second for the other two. All predictions will be made before the first game of that stage.
The Quarter-Finals will be made up of the top two from each group. You'll then predict all 8 games in the Quarters.

Deadlines for the home team will usually be midnight 2 days before. PM me if you are the away team and need to get them in early, otherwise the away team should predict knowing the home team's choices (that is an advantage obviously).
The 'away' team must PM me their predictions if the home team haven't posted by the deadline. No 'home' team will be allowed to gain an unfair advantage by seeing the 'away' team's predictions. Please play by the rules.
I don't expect anyone to copy the home team's predictions, they have to be unique score and try predictions.

Tie-breaker in case of a draw - Number of points scored by all 4 teams in the semis
