30pts a million from a striker?

Post by itslikebrandnew » 08 Jul 2019, 09:13

Can anyone see a striker (any value) that could get 30points per million without captaining him?

Only one I think could get close would be Ings. @ 6M I don't think 180 points is beyond him but would need to stay fit and first choice all season and fulfil his potential. Outside of that, none of them look close imo

Thanks, i had DCL but now i'm reading Everton are after a new striker. Saints have a new striker so i've concerns over Ings as well.

I'm so close to a potentially good team where all players are capable of 30pts per million.

I might just have to have a rethink and have 1 position that i daisychain with form players to make up this last player slot.

This i got someone :-

2018/19 133pts 2064mins 10goals 5assists

Any reason to think Deulofeu won't get more gametime this season?

Interested to see this team!

Deulofeu will probably get more minutes than that BUT his reclassifiation hurts him. Jiminez had a barnstormer of a season last year, goals assist and loads of BAPS and made 181 points. Even as a mid it would be a ridiculous season for GD to hit 205, let alone as a forward.

Is this team you are creating going to be a zombie team? Otherwise, I do not think it makes sense to constrain yourself to only a limited number of players. It can be a good experiment, but the main thing in FPL is to get the correct players at the correct time. A 25 PPM player may perform at a 35-40 PPM level for 8-10 weeks, having him at the exact timespan is the key.

Regarding your question, last season's top-scoring forward had 205 points, so even with an upper limit of 240, nobody above 8.0 will be a 30 PPM player. I can't see an option among the budget strikers either.

If there was a striker that was expected to make 30ppm you wouldn't need to ask as he would be in every RMT you looked at.

I think possibly the only one with a chance of making this is Ings at Southampton if he can stay fit and Southampton have there best season in years.

The only other chance is one of the cheap strikers who isn't expected to play becoming first choice due to injuries e.g. Origi (£5.5m) could hit £30ppm if Firmino breaks a leg in GW1.

That's why i asked because there isnt a player "expected" to make 30ppm. I'm looking for a player that could potentially make it. The player i'm looking for wont be in hardly any teams because he'll be a big risk.

Giroud could hit 210 as it looks like they won't be buying this season.

okay, if you are after potential, then yes, I would say pretty much any of the strikers 8.5m or under could "potentially" hit 30ppm

Thanks for your "help".

I'm after the one people think has the greatest potential.

Interesting to see how he will share gametime with Tammy Abrahams. The latter has not been added to the team yet. So with Giroud priced at 7.0m, TA should not be priced higher, rather a 6.5m like Pukki. That could be quite good value.

I don't think any striker even has a realistic potential for 30ppm right now to be honest (of course, none 'expected').

Best bet are probably yet to be priced players (say a first choice cheap Abraham at Chelsea) or someone loaned (say an Origi at 5.5m as a first choice striker somewhere). Hernandez at 6m if West Ham don't replace is vaguely possible, but most likely not.

Basically, it's very likely not going to happen imo - Jimenez did it last year, but he was a promoted striker with no championship goalscoring record to inflate his price (like those this year do have) in a team the bookies expected to finish 8th in their first PL season, which is completely unprecedented.

Oh boy how much I want it to be Pukki.

Wilson operated at this level last season too, no? That one was easier to pick out
