Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
I think they have got Robertson about right, although he probably needs to get pretty close to last year's output to justify £7m. I had him all last season but he is a maybe for me at the moment.

Quite surprised they've priced Robertson that low!
If he can hit 200 again he's a snip.

The Pereira price seems high to me, wonder whether defender prices as a whole have been increased.

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
It's the lowest they could possibly price Robertson. He'll be in everyone's team pretty much. Won't need to get anywhere near 200 to justify that price imo.

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
Yep AR, I don't like Perreira's price either. Fraser and Fab about right imo.
Ritchie is interesting though, especially if we drop the 3atb and he returns to the RW post-Rafa . On pens and some freekicks, but now gets CS too!
Aye SK, Robertson's is the biggie for me too. As a comparative example, Alonso was priced 7m two years ago when he mustered 177 points as the highest scoring defender, then 6.5m when he got 165 points. Robertson got 213!!

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
I'm astonished at the Robertson price, to be honest. 7.0m for the highest scoring defender from last season means he will be the highest priced, and an absolute bargain. From this we can infer that VVD, TAA and Laporte will all be in the 6.5 - 7.0 mark and therefore also bargains. So that's potentially 4 members of your squad bringing in 800 points without captaincy for 28m max. I can't see many fpl managers turning that down so it could be a tighter field next season, albeit a more high scoring one overall.
As mentioned above the odd one is Pereira. Why would you spend 6m on a reasonably attacking albeit fairly limited player for an upper mid table Leicester, when for just 1m more you get the best defenders in the game who are going to bring in 40-70 points more? Bizarre. Seems to me if this is repeated elsewhere what were once mid priced defenders are going to be priced out the game. At this rate Matt Doherty will be 6.5m which is absurd.

Grealish in at 6m. Meh.
And....ooof. Callum Wilson 8m. Was really hoping for 7-7.5 given that Fraser outscored him (albeit in more minutes). Nice early fixtures though.

Mo Salah in at an unsurprising 12.5, but more importantly he keeps his midfielder status.

Pukki an expensive 6.5m.
Jimenez a fairly par 7.5m.

It's interesting Salah is 12.5 and Mane is 11.5. With only 1.0 difference it has to be Salah, right? Considering that he is on penalties and we have VAR. If so, then it means that basically every man and his dog will have Salah, Robertson and TAA.

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
I'd have thought so. (Edit: though I had VVD over TAA in my first draft)
Meanwhile, the 5.5-6.0m striker band has seemingly died a death. With the relatively nicely priced premium defenders being as they are, I can see a fair few decisive switches to 442 in the offing.
In fact, budget options look pretty feeble to me across the whole game - especially in midfield and attack - maybe even the worst I recall for a while.
I like the 7-8m mid bracket a lot. Siggy, Zaha, Maddison, Bilva look nice to me on early viewing, even Willian if he gets the Hazard position on the left.
Was hoping KDB would get a 9.0, but 9.5m it is.
Heaton pretty locked in for me already at 4.5m. And if Diop moves to United he'll be a lock for everyone at 4.5m!
A few notable absentees such as Pulisic.

Alexis Sánchez at £7.0m is an odd thing to see. How the mighty have fallen.

Interesting as I wasn't aware he's linked to United, having already selected him in my team as I think he's good value to begin with.
I have Antonio in there as well. Hoping my boy Tielemans will be cheaper if added. Doubtful.

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
Heaton looks good value again, with the premium keepers up and Heaton down in price I think that's the 4.5 keeper sorted. Gomez at 5.5 could be good value, I'll likely pick him on the assumption of starts initially anyway.
The pen takers like are gonna be important obviously, I think I'd lean toward Auba and Aguero over Sterling on that basis, with Salah always a consideration. Mane looks priced out of the game though unfortunately.

What about decent penalty stoppers, like Krul? I've picked him and his 4.0 back-up. Krul is a decent shout but wouldn’t be my primary keeper, he’ll make a lot of saves there’s no doubt but Norwich will be shipping goals. Heaton/Krul or Heaton/AVL keeper for the rotation

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
A lot of people saying Heaton 1st choice goalkeeper and i persoanlly dont see it.
Nick Pope is class and has just signed a new long term contract, would he do that to sit on the bench ?
Especailly when Heaton in last year of his contract and looks to be running it down so can maybe get one last big pay day by moving to another club ( or could be pushing for a new deal himself )
One to watch for me at the moment

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
Pope has just missed a full season.
He is 27 so might be thinking he should be first choice somewhere... but Heaton is 33 so might not be forever (hence the new contract).
But Prior to the 17/18 season... he’d played just 77 league games in 7 years at League 2 or conference level. Granted, those were formative years... but I’m (patronisingly) assuming he’ll be content to have signed that contract and be willing to wait for his chance.
* he was fantastic in the 17/18 season and got an England call up.
I just think the year out will mean he’ll have to bide his time.

The dearth at lower prices imo suggests a gwk1 bench boost this year is certainly on the cardsStemania wrote:I'd have thought so. (Edit: though I had VVD over TAA in my first draft)

Can't see it being easy to spread the budget later in the season and having s bench boost that's half decent

Re: 2019/20 Price Reveals
The problem with Heaton is that, even if he is first choice, they've got such decent backup that, if he loses form, he's much more likely to be dropped than someone like Ryan, for example. A bit like the Begovic/Boruc situation last season. I wouldn't fancy going Heaton/4.0, personally. Obviously it'd be different if you go for another 4.5 like Ryan to be your second keeper.

I'm really surprised that I just looked up Heaton expecting to see his customary 3.8ppg and found him down at 3.1, with Hart actually scoring more ppg.
