With 2 extra 'competitive' games in early August??? Chelsea and Arsenal fairly early....

For TFF purposes I like a team which has the Shield. Always think it launches their season/fitness a week early compared to rivals. Doubly so with the Super Cup. Liverpool usually hammer Arsenal at home don't they?

Similar for teams in early Europa League, they're match fit in August but it catches up on them later.

So you'll be looking at Wolves, City and Liverpool (sooooo 2018/19  ). To be fair, who else will come up a level to become real value? I'm struggling and can only actually think United defenders  ....

As usual I'm sure I'll just read FISO, pick up on a few bandwagons and wait for them all to become distinctly average.

Will KdB be truly fit? Will Kane be OK in August for once? Will TFF tweak the pricing bands or anything else to make us rethink?

Liverpool and City blocks to start with if you have ambitions of winning this season.

Alisson/Ederson, TAA, Robertson, van Dijk, Laporte, Walker.

That's over half the team selected already - this game is so easy

And £2.50 to buy the other half.

Not judging by how TFF has previously priced up defenders - one midfield enabler should suffice :D

I asked TFF when the game will be launced and they replied early to mid July.

Hard to look past a MC/LFC block even if they are expensive at this stage especially as the premium strikers were all a bit shite at times last season, maybe best to look mid priced anyway....

I really hope they bring back the "Perfect Starting XI" competition - I missed that so much last season.

A ludicrous con. Virtually impossible and they know it.

There was one season where I only missed it by five players. 8-)

In previous years the pricing has been somewhat elastic, this year surely the top defender has to be 5m, and top mid 7m

Unfortunately, they market the game to attract the casual player. Expect more of the same.

So, how is VAR going to affect TFF? If the Women's World Cup is anything to go by you will simply need to buy a team full of good penalty takers.

Perhaps if more pens are given and scored it will also affect the value of defenders (yellow cards up, cleansheets down)

I remember looking at Milivojević a few times last season and being put off at £3.9m from memory. He'd be looking ok value at this rate.

If TFF were savvy (ha) they'd make the penalty miss more punitive. Who remembers back in the day Yakubu missing two in a cup game? Took his score from a potential 17 (with another goal) to minus 8 or something like that.

From var to me looks like it will spoil it . You will get more pens but more goals will get chalked off by being a milimeter offside. Milivojevic I personally will avoid. He may score 6 pens for the season but it's only 30 points and youd need to keep him in full season if you want him for his penalty duty. Much better options then a defensive mid who's on penalties

I don't sense the game is launching any time soon:

.... don't have a specific date I can give you at this time - when a specific date is available, we will announce it here.

All quite worrying. I don't care if it doesn't launch for another 2 or 3 weeks except that it means they are bigger about with it rather than just leaving it alone....

The site has been re-done for the new season, no evidence of a start date though.

Can somebody let me know when you early birds have fully beta (and, probably, alpha) tested it and they have got rid of all the bugs and 'features'. Thanks.

Ready in a "day or two" according to the latest tweets. Next Monday then.

In the meantime I spotted this old page from the paper on their timeline. 2006. A few familiar names in the leader boards. Michael Owen providing great value for his 7.3m price tag.

I have, somewhere, a few pages from the mid 1990s when my name briefly appeared. Does anyone have anything from season 1?
