It will make sense if someone better comes in. Time will tell.

Like the poster above says, Douglas's dead ball delivery is outstanding which will be to Leeds' benefit. He is also the assist king.

You have shifted Douglas Neves?

You wont be able to attack\bully Clubs this season as last - but even as typing you probably could if good enough. With the 3 staying up there are vulnerable Clubs. If Burnley get past Aberdeen, then there is just the top 6 plus Everton and maybe Leicester safe from relegation.

When I asked about score more or concede less, then Newcastle were the middling lot ie batten down the hatches vs top lot and try to attack the others - but with no FF attacking interest. Hideously(?) they aren't in the relegation candidates?

Barry Douglas is on his way to Leeds. There would be an uproar if we were to sell Neves.

I am surprised at the bookies odds on Wolves. We are not conceding goals this preseason but there is some concern that we are not scoring enough especially since we came back from the mini tournament in Switzerland.

re Neves: you Set piece bod?

Your lot have got promoted on something of a crest of a wave\expectation, and all 3 promoted Clubs stayed up and you are better than them is kinda how that works?

I do like Neves but as a FF asset not so much. Great shooting boot from distance and takes a good direct free kick as well. Bonus points may be a different matter but he should score 6 goals this season.

Which would be enough if you got all of them and a whack or CS points?

76 for starts could easily top 100....

Yep, Douglas to Leeds has come as a bit of a surprise in a way, but then again he was always going to be one of the Championship winning players vulnerable to team strengthening, same as Ruddy (already replaced by Patricio), Coady and Doherty.

Wolves have signed Jonny Castro who is not yet listed on FPL. Can play LB, LWB, RWB. Or we could play Vinagre (4.5) in Douglas's position.

OK, this is Wolves best XI as it stands on Aug 5. Bennett vs Saiss for the right side of defence in the back three is kind of 50/50 right now but if I had to make a judgment based on yesterday's friendly against Villareal when Bennett (4.0) replaced Saiss in the second half, I would go with Bennett. So:

...............Patricio

...Bennett....Coady (c).....Boly

Doherty.......................Jonny

.......Moutinho.....Neves (pens)

Costa.......Jimenez........Jota

Nailed starters: Patricio, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Moutinho, Neves, Jota.

Re pens, as far as I can see last season Wolves penalties were spread around Coady, Costa and Cavaleiro (and only 1 each I think). Any info on likely penalty taker for this season?

Looking again at the post above yours I think someone in the know thinks it's Neves. :)

I just assumed he didn't like him but had skipped an 'i' with a typo.

took me an age to get that one...

My point was not so much whether there is a designated taker, but more that last season the pens scored were spread so much. Were several pens missed and the taker changed? Am wondering if Nuno prefers flexibility or somesuch.

A pleasing start by Wolves and a good start by the brilliant Ruben Neves (5.0 and rising tonight).

It's being suggested (amongst the supporters at least) that Doherty (4.5) might lose his place to Jonny (4.5) at RWB with Vinagre (4.5) coming in at LWB.

Although he played OK yesterday, Bennett (4.0) could lose his place to new signing Leander Dendoncker (4.5) on the right of the Wolves back three.

I would expect Jimenez (5.5 striker) to keep his place in the front three alongside Jota (6.5) and Costa (5.0).

It still remains to be seen what Nuno has in mind for another new signing Adama Traore (5.5). Great times at Wolves right now.

I think that they can only get better as they settle in and get to know each other.

I thought it was a bit of a wake up call for them, in that if they’re not ruthless in front of goal they will be punished at this level. Playing against 10 men for nearly half the game, a point was the absolute minimum requirement.

A lot of quality on the ball there - but do they have the man who can get them 15 goals in the Premier League? If not they will have to find contributions from throughout the side.

Yep, not knocking them, far from it - but I think getting the ball could be a problem with the current 2 in midfield.

I'm only interested in Neves, tbh, as I can see plenty of FK's, but not so many chances, if that makes sense. My issue is that I would have to start him as per Mili last season, and that took some getting used to

This is the line-up for tonight's game against Sheff Weds in the Caribao Cup. Note £12m man Leander Dendoncker makes his debut in the Bennett (4.0) position, and Adama Traore starts in the front three:
