Short Vegas Trip

Post by ctibbits »

My wife and I are heading to Vegas next week for a short (3 day) Anniversary trip. I have been before as has she so we know the lay of the land so to speak but have never really ventured off the strip. Furthermore I usually saddle up to a table and spend my entire time drinking and throwing money into the coffers of the Casino. Wondering if anyone has been and seen or done something that is worth while, interesting etc that is not on the beaten path.

Been a couple of times, but stayed on the strip. Pretty grim place away from the strip from what I've seen. Flight to Grand Canyon / Hoover Dam is the only thing that immediately springs to mind.

Could visit Red Rock - not too far away. Less than an hour by car anyway. Not that exciting though tbh unless you're a climber :D

Bit late now... But I'd have echoed the chopper flight to GC etc.

Shows in Vegas are always amazing. Love is the best if the ones I've seen there.

We've been twice and never actually been off the strip (apart from driving in/out).
Seeing a queue about 100 long outside a pawn brokers is a sad and sobering sight.

We were actually staying where Love is and meant to go. A run on the blackjack table and a heavy handed bartender put a stop to that! Really fun and easy trip. If you are ever there and have a thirst for a great cocktail head to a place called Velveteen Rabbit. Top class and creators of the best cocktail I've had.

Sounds like the tried & tested method I use when I go there. Stick to what you know, doesn't sound a lot wrong with it to me! :D
