How we all doing?

Post by CptPugwash »

Not my favourite game, squad games are complicated enough without trying to factor in fixtures from 4 other leagues.
So just my 1 free attempt.
155pts with 1 transfer used - absolutely no idea where that leaves me (1716th, but impossible to tell how many transfers are used by those above)
Very happy with my GKs 5 out of 5 CS (Mignolet & Lloris)
Very happy with my Front 4 (Messi, Sturridge, Giroud, Dzeko) Though i will wait and see if Dzeko starts Man Citys next game, if not he's out for a Saturday to Sunday switch (WH, Swansea or Soton). I'd obv like to have RVP for CP, but squeezing RVP into a Messi team is impossible(ish).
Not a lot going on in Midfield (Coutinho, Silva, Rosicky, KDB). KDB is the big worry obv. i do have full rotation to wk 14 except wk 8 & wk 10. Spurs coverage sorts that out if i can figure out which to transfer in before then.
defence is shot. Only Lescott & Baines currently playing. Toure, Kaboul, & the Rat missing in Action. Need to some serious thinking about restructuring my defence, but i have £0 in the bank.
Could raise 1.1m by doing a well timed out and in of Baines  :?:  Coleman.
Otherwise its downgrading Coutinho and/or Dzeko i guess.

It's OK now. Would have been annoying if this was repeated at a time when one wanted to make transfers just before kick off one day. I for one won't be leaving transfers until the last minute, except when team news could be really significant.

Reasonably happy, one team, 124 pts, 6665th, top of my Betway league by 7 pts. Used 3 transfers to take out Mata, Dzeko and Brayford.

Single Team 142 Points, no transfers used...3,235th

Have not bothered with a Euro striker as can't be arsed looking at their fixtures or searching for team news.

165 with 6 transfers gone. Have put bale in quite a few teams over weekend now doubled up euro. Could not read anything in rules about 2 euro players

It's not too clear to me whether that refers to transfers of players who were previously in the european strikers list and have subsequently been transferred OR as in Bales case transferred from the EPL to a european league.

Guess we will have to wait and see if Bale remains as part of the main game (slack), gets reclassified as a european striker, or disappears altogether.

EDIT - looks like bloggie has already looked into this. Apparently is discretionary whether he appears on the euro list. However if he does appear it will effectively be a different Bale to the 1 you already have in your team. i.e. he would become Euro-Bale & EPL-Bale would stop scoring.

Not playing this game but I take it that team status is supposed to be hidden yet Max_Manus has found a way in to view others' teams? Changing numbers in the url perhaps?

Spill the beans on here then. what is going on? I'm in 2nd place so it affects me bigtime. This is a scandal if true. The software is like something from the stoneage so it would not surprise me if true.

I've removed a number of posts, it would appear that the Mirror game is not secure and (even if it is a bit late now) do not wish to give anyone ideas on how to take advantage of that breach.

Chances are that all events are logged by the Mirror so that anyone accessing teams belonging to others and making any attempt to sabotage them will be spotted, undone and those acting maliciously will be prosecuted.

Would any further discussion here not deal with specifics please.

Removed posts now replaced as the access to others' teams has now been blocked.

It was possible by changing the team numbers in the url to view any entry, team line up, budget and transfers remaining, it was not possible to sabotage teams by making subs or transfers.

With 4 months of the season left the potential advantage of knowing any given entry's details before today should be minimized.

And the French league matches next Saturday.

Is that your Dad up there at the top? Looks like hes got a decent shot (unless you over take him) ;0)

Good luck to all those still in contention.

This is whats so annoying about these providers.

The rules as you know were all over the place so I've asked for clarification on a couple of occasions and both times i was told that it finishes next Saturday and that all games on that day count.

Ultimately wouldn't make sense to cut a season off half way through a day.

It probably doesn't affect me now anyway but still annoying that nothing is set in stone even after confirmation. I've planned for a French striker for next Saturday. I'd be more than annoyed if it turned out to cost me. (which it won't).

Whats more annoying is when the sunday la liga matches make a last minute switch to the saturday before 5pm and now count

Last wed they were tbc then on thursday the villareal match was moved to the sat and the rest were confirmed for the sunday. Had a look today and they are now moved to saturday
