FA Cup’s always been in it as long as I’ve played. Remember the transfer password though, I may well have found this place through searching for a way to get hold of it without buying the Tory shitrag. Transfers were probably more than 20 but substantially lower than recent times…

Same. I think someone I used to work with (my boss at the time actually) was a lurker at least and sent me here. Half my life ago or thereabouts!

Not a boss, but someone who used the Torygraph to run a League and introduced between match subs before they did 🤣

Only bought the Toryraph to get a printed player list or very, very occasionally see my name - like the time they misprinted the leaderboard and showed something like 201st-300th rather than the top 100. Still got that somewhere....

Don't suppose they printed the top 100 this year did they?

Wasn't that a thing way back when?

Printing other than the top 100 🤔

I remember 4 and 20 around 2001, but it could have been 24.

I'd prefer 20 or 24.

I think I've been in since season 1 but remember 6 (not 4) postal transfers in those early pre-internet seasons.

TFF future?

Post by SamD »

The Telegraph posted this on 2 June:
. . . As for the 2026/27 season, options are being explored and we will update players as soon as we can.

Could someone with access to X/Twitter please summarise anything meaningful within the 30+ responses to date? Thanks.

Nothing meaningful just people saying they'll miss TFF if it went

TFF themselves have neither posted or replied since 2 June. I've set up a notification alert for if/when they do.

Not surprising they’re taking a holiday given there’s no World Cup game to run and no guarantee they’ll be doing anything next season…

Looking at their pinned tweet to announce the launch of last season's game (28 July 2025) someone has commented on the tiny number of replies when on the same day, FPL had done a single player price reveal and had 500 replies.

Well, one’s a global game with I believe over 10m entrants… the other a UK newspaper game which I think typically has around 100,000 teams these days, many of them multi-entries. Even at its peak it was only around 250k I think (though paid entry of course).

Oh yeah absolutely. I meant that it was another good example of why the Telegraph could be forgiven for sacking it off. It's not generating social media activity (or selling newspapers). Hard to see what's in it for them.

Really missing TFF at the world cup. I've had a few teams in fanteam but these weekly lock in games don't really do it for me.

Finding it hard to care about a lot of the matches - Tunisia v Netherlands? who cares. But if tff was running I'd have just swapped Hakimi to Dunfries and I'm fully on board....

Does SDT (the only other major “old school” fantasy game remaining) get much social media engagement these days?

I'm part of a SDT WhatsApp group which is fairly active (run by Fantasy Football Hub). It has improved as a game a lot over the past few years (though my performance hasn't), and it deserves more. As far as I know there is only one regular podcast (Dream Team Tonic), but that's one more than TFF has.

haven’t been on this site for a month and just read about TFF possibly not coming back.
To be honest, I’m feeling a bit grief stricken!!!! had it in my life for so long and even gave me a second place £5000 that I could spend on a private operation!!
Been playing since the late 90s after jumping ship from the mirror game. The daily star did a good game in those days which included all the divisions. Startedto look at the rules for FPL, but it’s like a foreign language and seems a pain with its stupid wildcard, chips and captaincy features.
