We can confirm that we are working on the World Cup version of Telegraph Fantasy Football. The format will be similar to the previous Euros & World Cup.

26 May
Unfortunately, there will not be a Telegraph Fantasy World Cup game this year.
We believe Telegraph Fantasy Football [2026-27] will be back next year, stay tuned for any updates we may have in store.
That's a VERY late u-turn from them as they even had a graphic ready for the world cup game, I found a meta tag for it (although link went back to text for the 2022 game), was hoping for a launch tomorrow.
Another message on the x account today, not so promising for 2026/27 when read last bit but lets hope!

"We have had many messages regarding a World Cup game for 2026, but unfortunately there will not be one this time around.

As for the 2026/27 season, options are being explored and we will update players as soon as we can."
Yeh, that’s why doesn’t sound great at all. Don’t think I’d want to move to something else :(

Tff mailout today with some comments from the winner. And then:

"What's next for TFF?
Unfortunately there is no World Cup game this year, but who wanted to set 3am alarms to make transfers anyway?"

But nothing about next season.

Just checked and that's a standard line in their weekly emails. (Just below the Make Transfers link)

I've never played another FF game and it feels like I'm just getting my head around TFF after 20-odd years!

In which case you have progressed more than me in that time  I do hope it isn’t dead.
