Tapatalk problems

Anybody else having Tapatalk problems?

I can't get my App to start. Deleted and reloaded it and it worked once only to not do so again.

I can also sneakily open it by googling 'FISO Forums' and clicking 'open with tapatalk' (or just use web version).

Weird?

Anyone with similar issues or ideas to fix it?

Still knackered. But I've figured out how to lose the signature and improve the layout so not all bad.....

Is Tapatalk free to download from the App store?
Would appreciate any info/views on this app.
Is it good for viewing on mobile devices? Thanks

Yep, free

Yep, ideal for mobiles

Much cleaner looking than FISO

Initially it is a bit annoying that you see all threads from all forums, but you get used to it and occasionally pick up on something useful because of it.

On the 'Unread' view it has a nice feature that means once you have read the post, it is removed from the list, only reappearing if there is a new post, making it easier to see what you haven't read

It looks like this...

Finally, after 5 weeks, Tapatalk works again! You'll all be pleased to hear I can turn my signature off!

Looks like it was a software updaye that sorted it.

Anyone having issues currently?

It has not worked for me for 24h...have deleted and reinstalled but still just returns nothing when I refresh, just the wheel of doom.

Fine for me on Android.

Do you use one of those bug ridden Apple toys?

Hmm...annoying.

Yep, iPhone, but no other issues and it's been fine until yesterday...maybe I've used up my allowance for time spent in the app

What were the symptoms?

Mine was struggling to scroll.
Support told me to clear cache (which I had never done before). I will see how that goes today

Interesting

Mine is definitely better since clearing, will see if that sticks or not like yours

My iPhone is getting very hot too while on there, does yours?
It’s a recent (new) insurance replacement and my old phone of the same model didn’t get hot, I’m assuming it’s the phone itself, but worth asking!

This is the only thread I could find about using Tapatalk so thought I'd resurrect it rather than starting a new one!

I have never really used the Tapatalk app, preferring to awkwardly navigate my way around in the Safari browser on my phone. The recent World Cup thread however, made me take a look at changing (the flags are displayed using a proprietary emoji code).
It seems quite a lot of people on here use this app and I just wondered if I should persevere with it and if it is worth paying for the ad-free version.
What do those who use it think - or those who decided not to in fact....?

Have used it for years.

Put it this way.... I had to use the browser version earlier this week and it was comparatively useless and frustrating compared to Tapatalk and I am so glad to have it back.

(Clearing the cache sorted it)

Do you pay or put up with the ads, and are they very invasive?

I’ve went ad free as I don’t think it was expensive and the ads were annoying and causing other glitches if I remember correctly.
Not sure how I actually pay for it now you’ve reminded me ImageImage

It's 99p a month but only £29.99 for life - might go for that after I've completed my test run :-)

So far I'm missing the 'my posts' view I use in a browser. You can view unread and subscribe to specific sites but not forums within FISO as far as I can see.
