When I saw the start of the headline “Leicester have appointed…” I fully expected it to be Dyche.

I’d be surprised if Burnley aren’t considering said move…

Broadly, though the club was actually named after the Forest Recreation Ground, its original home on the northern edge of the city (which was possibly once part of said Robin Hood haunt).

Clough was as left-wing as his legendary forerunner as Nottingham’s local hero, anyway (and not in the John Robertson/Ian Woan/Andy Reid sense of the term). The aforementioned King John was more popular in said parts than his medieval equivalent, while Marinakis is fast becoming the despised Sheriff.

I did hear suggestions that would suit him more than a bigger English club, can’t remember the exact reasoning beyond his own background there (something to do with club structures I think).

So already two vacancies for the summer, along with United where the long-term strategy is still unconfirmed, and City where Pep’s future is also to be resolved.
