It just didn't make sense to play him with the option of playing eleven DGW players, in the end six points wasn't a lot to miss out on but he did slightly outscore Enzo, Palmer & Semenyo...

Bench - Verbruggen, Struijk, Van Hecke, Fernandes
In isolation 96 points from a free hit chip was a decent score, however it wasn't nearly as good as many bench boosters achieved last week so my team dropped about 25k to 210,358 overall.

This time around, it's going to be another challenging game week as I'm up against a lot of free hit chips and only have ten players involved in this week's fixtures.

As neither of my current GKs are involved, I've replaced Verbruggen with Raya

GW34

Raya

Gabriel
Virgil
Thiaw
Alderete

Rice
Rogers
Wilson
Fernandes (c)
Mbeumo

Thiago (v)

Bench - Dubravka, Haaland, Joao Pedro, Hill

There's a slight question mark over whether Mbeumo starts this week but as there isn't anyone else playing this week that I would want to hold on to for the rest of the season, I'm going to avoid taking a hit and just see what happens...

Unfortunately not nearly good enough, 44 points represented an under performance versus the free hitters and my team dropped another 51,000 places to 261,548 in the overall league.

Hopefully things will improve from this week onwards and I've made one transfer replacing Thiaw with O'Reilly:

GW35

Raya

Gabriel
Hill
Virgil
O'Reilly

Rice
Rogers
Fernandes (v)

Thiago
Joao Pedro
Haaland (c)

Bench - Dubravka, Alderete, Wilson, Mbeumo

GW36 the plan is to replace Mbeumo with either Cherki or Semenyo and then transfer Rogers out in GW37 for either Palmer or Gordon (fitness permitting  )...

GW35 ended up being a good rather than great week for my team, with 63 points giving a rise of just over 29,000 places to 232,005 in the overall league.

Moving on to this week, I've brought in Cherki for Mbeumo which gives me three Manchester City players for the double game week:

GW36

Raya

Gabriel
Virgil
O'Reilly

Rice
Rogers
Wilson
Cherki (v)
Fernandes

Joao Pedro
Haaland (c)

Bench - Dubravka, Thiago, Hill, Alderete

I don't find Crystal Palace players appealing this week (despite the double) so I'm not going to take a hit to bring any of them into my team...

As 66 points for my team in GW36 led to a drop to 319,793 in the overall league, it's fair to say now that a top 100,000 finish is not going to happen this season :( .

Hopefully things will go better this time around and I've used my one free transfer to replace Rice with Saka (to try to protect my team against further potential drops this game week):

GW37

Raya

Gabriel
Virgil
O'Reilly

Saka (c)
Wilson
Cherki
Fernandes (v)

Thiago
Joao Pedro
Haaland

Bench - Dubravka, Rogers, Alderete, Hill

In terms of my final transfer for GW38, I've not got any concrete plans and will make a decision closer to the deadline...

Finally had a really good game week with 82 points giving a rise of about 95,000 places to 224,044 in the overall league.

It's going to be really difficult to field eleven players in GW38 as I don't have any back up for Raya, Wilson isn't starting and both Joao Pedro & Alderete are doubts for the weekend.

Add to that the possibility of mass rotations by both Arsenal & Manchester City and I'm not really expecting anything positive to happen on Sunday.

At the moment, I'm considering Joao Pedro  Bowen but this will be dependent on Joao Pedro still being a doubt later this week.

If he is going to start, then Wilson  Anderson or Alderete  Danso could be options for my one remaining transfer...

It’s a dead rubber. City can’t finish anywhere but 2nd. Expect the likes of Marmoush, Reijnders, Savinho, Lewis, Gvardiol, Stones and Foden to start the game.

Arsenal will be similar.

Not give e.g. Haaland a breather and 20 mins run-out, when he soon has to carry another team?

Just less than 24 hours to the deadline and as things stand I'll be waiting until tomorrow before making my final transfer.

If there aren't any team leaks then I think I'll just be replacing Alderete with either a Tottenham or West Ham defender (budget wise my options are very limited  ).

If Raya doesn't start then due to the generally low clean sheet odds for tomorrow's games, I don't think it would be worth taking a hit to replace him so instead will just go without a GK this game week  .

If there are team leaks before the deadline, then I'll probably hold on to Alderete & replace a midfielder or forward that I know isn't starting...

Okay so the final team of the season is as follows:

GW38

Raya

Gabriel
Hill
Virgil

Saka
Rogers
Wilson
Fernandes (c)

Thiago
Joao Pedro
Bowen (v)

Bench - Dubravka, Cherki, O'Reilly, Alderete

Following this afternoon's team leaks I've replaced Haaland with Bowen.

I wanted to also transfer out either Saka or Rogers for Salah however the site crashed and I wasn't able to do it  .

Expecting a super low score today but at least I didn't take a hit  ...

In the end GW38 wasn't quite as bad as I expected it to be, despite only having six starters (with another three making sub appearances) my team managed to score 54 points and only fell slightly to 227,530 in the overall league.

In terms of the season as a whole I'd say it's been good rather than great, really wanted to get into the top 100,000 but on the two occasions I got close to that I'd end up having poor game week and losing a lot of the progress that has previously been made.

Looking forward to having a bit of a FF break now but will be back for the new season...
