Re: Parkrun
I want to get back into parkrun. I am doing Ironman Wales in September but after that I can focus on shorter events once again.

How many active ParkRunners here then? Have we got any sub 18 min parkrunners here? And have we got a FISO strava group?

Re: Parkrun
Guernsey was done around my birthday as expected. Followed by copious amounts of alcohol first when watching the Lions rugby and then at a cider orchard tour.Mystery wrote:So I've now got 5 to go. G (Guernsey in July or September), I (probably Itchen Valley but no plans yet), K (no plans but probably Kingston), Q (Queen Elizabeth Country park) and Y (now York).
Attending Kingston tomorrow morning to leave 3 more.

Completed Ironman Wales 2025 on Sunday! 13 hours and 12 minutes 30 seconds. What an absolutely amazing experience. Like nothing I have experienced before. Incredible support everywhere. Loved it.

Re: Parkrun
Eff me Neath Boy. I'm not worthy. Very fair play indeed.
As a multi-time half-marathoner I can only relate that to my one marathon ever where, to be fair, I was supported all the way to my finish. Shortly followed by a pint of fizzy pi**. Good times

Re: Parkrun
Thanks Mystery. After my cancer scare at the end of 2024 I thought I had better get it down while I could and to raise money for the cancer charity. So glad I did it. It was fantastic.

Re: Parkrun
Awesome stuff Neath boy, great achievement! I'm thinking of my first ultra next year but Ironman is another level.
And SunStreaker, we're not sure is the answer! Those of us that know about the thread update it but I suspect there are plenty more of us.

Re: Parkrun
Ironman? Not sure. Maybe steel or aluminium. I could do with a few metal replacement joints - what do they make those out of?

Awesome stuff. My sister got into distance running about 10 years ago when she turned 50 (older sister, obviously. I have done a couple of sprint triathlons. Miles behind after the swim. Back in contention after the bike and then back of the pack again after the run

Re: Parkrun
Thanks guys. I loved the experience now looking for a different challenge next year. Currently enjoying walking in the Cinque Terre enjoying pasta and red wine!
A few parking on my return to the UK when my times will be slow. I am now more tuned in for endurance over short distance speed.
Signed up for the Bologna half marathon in March so back to training on my return
