Almost certain it wasn't Yakubu for the second goal. Can't see who it was, but not Yakubu.

I can't believe there's a debate over the Boro second goal. Saying that though, I hear James Morrison always gets mistaken for Yakubu when he's on a night out.

Clearly MOM is not given by the match reporter for the FA cup games. From the match report:

"City, driven on by Barton ... producing his best performance of the season"
"only the drive of Barton separated the two sides"

KCs confirmed on TFFO. Extra one for Sinclair which I thought about but decided Barton did too much with it first. It's looking like they give more weight to the quality of the pass/no of defenders taken out than the number of touches of the middle player (which of course is right).

and is consistent with the KC not awarded to Dyer on Sunday for a basic 10yd pass my Gran could have done in her slippers :!:

Gutted about the Crossley MOM. I read the match report comments as well and thought it sounded like Barton was a shoe-in for the award.

At least 2 assists soften the blow I suppose.[/quote]

As was Crossley - kept us in the game again. Probably benifited from the OAP & underdog sympathy votes though :)

I remember at the start of the season when the reporter said something like Lampard was incredible, at the centre of everything etc etc, and Ballack played quite well beside him, and Ballack got MOM

I think Malbranque will get a KC for putting Berbatov right in the heart of the box, for what its worth. Its just a guess.

... and Judio and others. I do sometimes feel uneasy at the way some people perceive I'm the only one who gets these right.

Closer examination of the Defoe goal shows that the defender almost scored an own goal ... Defoe's original shot rebounded off the keeper again and hit the defender's head, Defoe then helped it over the goal-line.

Well I think it IS important! People must know about Brunt and his traction engine of a left foot! Or 'The Hammer' as Chris Kamara calls it :D

Check this - the boy Brunt as commentated by Alan Partridge
