Vinyls - Need Your Expert Advice!

Post by spoki »

I've been on this wild journey of customizing my car lately, and now I'm diving into the world of vinyl wraps. I've seen some amazing transformations online, and I'm convinced that a killer vinyl design can take my ride to a whole new level.
Here's where I need your expertise - I'm on the lookout for some unique and high-quality vinyls for my car. I want something that screams personality, you know? A design that reflects my vibe and sets my car apart from the rest. The options out there are overwhelming, and I'm struggling to make a decision.
But here's the catch - I'm not just looking for any vinyl shop. I want to support a local business or find a reliable online store that won't break the bank. I firmly believe in giving back to the community, and I know there must be some hidden gems out there.
So, my fellow gearheads, help a brother out! Do any of you have recommendations for awesome local shops or online stores where I can find a wide variety of car vinyls? ? I've stumbled upon this site called https://www.vinylcutter.eu/ , and it looks promising. Has anyone had experience with them? I'd love to hear your thoughts and reviews.
Also, let's not limit this conversation to just vinyls – share your experiences with customizing your cars! Any tips, tricks, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated. Whether it's a full wrap, decals, or just a touch of vinyl here and there, I'm eager to soak in your wisdom.
Can't wait to hear from you all! Safe driving and happy customizing!

I'm sure it would jump too much. Stick to CDs in a car.

I never saw the point of vinyl roofs.

My mark 4 Cortina had a vinyl roof. It got nicked and was found crashed and abandoned in a roadside hedge 3 miles away. My wife's unlocked Lada was not touched.

Yeah, far too many potholes and speed bumps these days. Good old cassette tapes and those newfangled blue teeth do the job as well ;)

Guess no self-respecting car thief would ever be seen in a Lada!

We must have been posh way back when as I remember us having a Lada in our kitchen.

“What do you call a Skoda full of food?” as the ‘80s joke went…

This was back in the days of cheap auction cars. It was reliable despite oil rings gone and smoky exhaust. I moved it on to my cousin who was happy with it. It was bright orange...with no vinyl.

Orange cars are as ‘80s as Ladas themselves… maybe, like the mullet, due a comeback ;)

Some of us may still sport mini mullets.

Dead on here this week. Sadly no vinyl advice for Spoki.

Vaguely footie related, I am off to Cape Verde tomorrow, early ACN stars with 2 wins, won their group before taking on Egypt.

Does anybody remember those massive cassettes for cars? Shown in the opening scene of Life on Mars. I presume they were 8 track but probably wildly wrong.

I left Sign o' the Times on the parcel shelf of my first car (Seat 133, 850cc, bodged with a water pump from a mini, no air filter, wings more filler than metal and holes in the floor) when I went away for the weekend one summer in the late 80's.

Looked like a Salvador Dali painting when I got back. Vinyl and hot cars don't mix.

My first car had a vinyl roof. When it was stolen and then found by the police, I gained a Soul II Soul cassette the thieves had been listening to. I gave it away. The cassette not the car.

At least the car was back to life, back to reality… presume it managed to keep on movin’ as well.

Certainly 'back to reality' when I was hauled out of the Students Union 'club' by the police to collect my car (despite telling them I'd had a couple of beers...) from the middle of a very run down Salford housing estate where the thieves presumably lived and were watching  Wouldn't come 'back to life' as the hot wiring had screwed the ignition. Had to go back the next day to get it jump started from my mate's car. Once it got started we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We certainly 'kept on moving'

When my car was stolen, the police knocked on my door at three in the morning, they gave me a lift to work at five. Those were the 'good' old daze.
