Awesome start, Coleridge. Good to hear that nasty bout of wrong captainitis didn't spread to your other team.

That's sky in a nutshell really isn't it. providing you do the basics right it's all about nailing those captain picks.

Re: FISO ISO 2022-23
Seems it was a tough captain decision amongst us today too, with Johnson, Romero, and the Spurs front three splitting the votes, but none of them an overwhelming favourite.
The only notable exception appears to be Malrom, whose team name will probably be more apt than ever when he realises he hasn't set one at all.

Assuming you'd have captained Romero, it's only four points lost, so not a disaster by any means.
Shame I can't say the same about my predictions.

Nicely done Johnners. I didn’t go Kane in this team as I needed some emergency surgery to get rid of a disastrous Martinez punt! So I doubled up on Spurs defence instead, almost got away with it till Kane’s late show. Mini silver lining is no Jesus & Kane dilemma next SatJohnners wrote: ↑14 Aug 2022, 19:14Malrom wrote: ↑14 Aug 2022, 17:53I completely forgot about the captaincy , I was probably to busy with the predictions of the Spencer4 game.....Johnners wrote: ↑14 Aug 2022, 14:47 Seems it was a tough captain decision amongst us today too, with Johnson, Romero, and the Spurs front three splitting the votes, but none of them an overwhelming favourite.

Cheers, Nm. At 90+6 minutes, it was more than a little jammy, although once we knew Biscuitman hadn't brought him back in, it was always on the cards.Northernmonkey wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 00:43 Nicely done Johnners. Unlucky with Martinez. Imagine all of us will have a punt we regret sooner or later, so at least you've got yours out of the way nice and early.
With that double Spurs defence, your ISO team now looks almost identical to my main one, so if I'm not top of our leaderboard next week, I really hope it's you!

Re: FISO ISO 2022-23
Just catching up after a busy weekend, where I
Wasn't aware of much, other than the scores.
Glad I missed it , looked stressful with own goals, missed pens and last minute goals.
Romero to be retrospectively banned?
If it makes you feel any better l played De Gea over Pope in fan team and my weekly FPL position is currently over 7 million places worse than last week

Imagine there'll be a fair number who need to switch to another Liverpool player to cover the Monday captaincy, funds and formation permitting.

Do you think? I'd assumed they'd been doubling up with Salah in anticipation of a goals fest start to the season. That'll only start next Monday

Don't doubt there'll be some on the double-up too.
Personally, I'm having enough of a dilemma wondering who to captain as it is, without having to choose between two attackers from the same club.

Just like to say my own team I picked in 5 minutes and used no transfers is outperforming the ISO team by 33k places.

As a Spurs fan, that's most unwelcome. From a Sky point of view, I'd been struggling to work out the best way to bring in one or two new faces, so it's actually made things a whole lot easier.
Well played, Hoppy, keep it up!happyhoppy wrote: ↑17 Aug 2022, 21:03 Just like to say my own team I picked in 5 minutes and used no transfers is outperforming the ISO team by 33k places.
Seems you're not the only TFF stalwart who's had an impressive start with his other team either, so good to see you new recruits doing so well.

Re: FISO ISO 2022-23
Well it won’t last I’m sure but it’s keeping my interest going! Quite enjoying the captain part that is quite neat actually. I had thought captain picks was always too random but being able to pick several in a game week is a good idea as it gives you more chances.

Re: FISO ISO 2022-23
The main thing I'm struggling with is the balance of the team and formations. Like TFF, the PPM value is all at the back so first instinct is to pick 5 defenders. But in the absence of a 541 formation you've then got to have 2 forwards so £20m+ 'marooned' on your forwards. And thank God for Jesus (ahem) for providing a stable relatively cheap option. Obviously you can rotate them and daisy chain etc but there's not many I fancy at the prices. Other option is to go 442 and fluctuate between that and 532 but at that point (again just like TFF) I'm struggling with the non premium midfield scoring and pricing. Not many cheapies will get passing or tackling bonus so you're relying on old school goals and assists points but there doesn't seem much value there either.
On balance I think I'm going to go 532 and try and keep 0.4m spare for Cancelo to Son opportunities.

Thanks for your sympathy, but it's OK, it's an affliction I've lived with since childhood.
The pain has been more or less constant for years now, but I try not to let it get me down.

It was either Romero to Mitrovic or Zinchenko for me both performed well so I’m happy I picked Zinchenko especially as Arsenals next few fixtures are tasty too.

Re: FISO ISO 2022-23
Did the same move in my other team. In ISO it’s just not happening yet, I went Koulibaly who’s just seen red
1 shot, 59 passes and 3 tackles just to rub salt in
It’d been a better weekend till then, all our original cheapies doing good.
