I trust you are referring to the Director Of Fisheries  They didn't move the walrus over concerns for her safety so killed her instead.

Cull the humans not the poor walrus.
Would probably have died due to the stress of being moved somewhere far enough away that it wouldn’t just swim back.

I was referring to the people that ignored pleas to leave the animal alone. Unfortunately the government have a duty to protect human life, even stupid human life

I do feel that people need protecting from their own stupidity
a lot of the time, but there are limits. Intentionally interfering with a wild animal is certainly beyond that limit.
This is where I disagree.

They definitely need protecting from others’ stupidity. That’s why I see myself as a slightly authoritarian just-left-of-centrist…

There’s stupidity from lack of knowledge and stupidity from recklessness. Can generally forgive the former, though maybe blame whoever’s Education Secretary this week ;)

The walrus believed in levelling up. She used to climb on rich people's boats and sink them with her weight.

'Today the biggest threat facing walruses is the loss of stable sea ice due to climate change. As a result of less sea ice, walrus are changing their behavior. Walruses feed on the ocean floor in the relatively shallow waters of the continental shelf, where the sea ice itself sustains a rich food web.' So they're nearer shore/humans/ruthless industrial fisheries.

Needing to pay for lots of subscriptions to watch the footie.

Why can't I just buy a Liverpool season ticket?

Anyway.... I clicked a link to get a free Amazon Prime Trial and watched the midweek Liverpool game only to today spot an £8.99 charge on my account Complained and they said I couldn't have it free as I'd had one before. Would be fair enough but they hadn't told me I was being charged so I kept complaining. They then sent me a link for a cancellation and refund... for £4.50 because I'd also used it for an 'expedited delivery' (ordered yesterday - expected Monday, very expedited...). Kept on complaining and finally got a full refund. Bar stewards bit I still watched for free. /

Ipswich and Derby are playing tonight, with both wearing their 3rd kits when there is no clash with their 1st kits 😤😤😤😤😤

The only thing I can think of is that Derby decided to turn up with only their 3rd kit, which is a plum kinda colour. This was deemed to be too close to our blue shirts?

They should have been told to go and find white tops from Primark etc and deal with any sponsorship refunds later!

A governing political party can apparently sack their Prime Minister for being a serial liar, appoint a replacement who trashes the economy in six weeks, then bring back the first one as a returning hero. I can’t quite remember which banana republic this story is referring to, but seemingly it might happen.

When I get my turn as PM (booked in for next wednesday 2:30- 3:00) I'll be banning any shirt swaps unless there is a direct clash.

Why were Spurs wearing some godawful multi coloured training top v Man U the other night. Does red clash with white?

If I get time we will move onto black boots, shirt numbers over 11 and nicknames and first names on shirts.

Yep to black boots. Coloured ones would only be allowed for players who had actually won something like a WC, CL and Prem.

Should I confess to wearing 14 back in the early 80s, while being a starting CF?

The laws of the game should say boots must be black or (at a stretch) the same colour as the socks, unless the player has at least two Ballons d’Or to their name.

So if we’re going by major team trophies, Djimi Traore can wear yellow boots, but Harry Kane can’t?

All wear black boots.

I'd ban the Balon d'or and anyone with an ego that makes them brag about having one.

Djimi Traore gets one silver stripe on his boot.

To move to a club where he could win one? Maybe he will do so at LA Galaxy in a few years’ time…

And a Worthless Cup final where a caretaker manager sent out a team that made no attempt to try and win the game, despite the fact that the year ended in 1!

An American* woman is suing an instant food company because their pasta and cheese takes longer than the advertised "ready in 3.5 minutes" to prepare.

Apparently that is just the time it has to sit in boiling water in the plastic pot. She has been deceived because she also has to open the lid and sauce pouch and then (life is tough) she has to stir it too.

She is suing them for $5m dollars. Her time must be really valuable. Maybe she should get her valet to cook it fresh?

Unpopular opinion time… Qatar might be a dodgy place to host it on so many levels, but aside from that I’d happily see the World Cup moved to November/December permanently.

It’s worked pretty well on that level. You want to be outside in the summer, or watching cricket. Football’s a winter game, I’m a convert to winter World Cups now. Let’s have some matches in Green Bay and Detroit in December next time! Messi does the snow angel ;)

It might make the second half of the PL season unusually bonkers as well.
